There's nothing more polite than telling gay people that you don't want to have to look at them, deal with them, or have any evidence of their existence in a game that you play. You go, politeness hero!

Telling people anything can't be polite or not per se. It is a manner of wording that matters and yes, if done politely then you can say exactly what you have mentioned.

I may be confusing cult with aliens but there were at least two movies like that one with aliens 'rescuing' men from the hetero life style (though they could have been closeted I forgot which) and another with a woman raising an army of gay men. Both movies were quite gay with lots of gay characters (and lots of gay sex). Ah now I'm mad that I don't remember the names of them I got to look it up. I do remember one of the names was kind of racist though.
