FC, SB, CL and you can tank perilous at lvl 10. PotA takes too much time and when pugging, people rarely wait for you to get a nice grouping before they start long shotting or whatever and your group of enemies is all over the map. I prefer Frost Step as my final skill. It's great for getting some aggro after you fill your barrier with FC and CL.

PFFFT. I never use it. CL (and the fade shield passive) gives me more than enough damage to build barrier. Enemies get in melee range? FC, SB.
if your low on promotions across the board your survivability is based on using the cheapest high points damage and barrier abilities, once you have a enough bonus stats from promotions you can play pretty much any build and still be decent, it also helps to have high end gear at which point you can probably go solo on a level 1 against any faction, the biggest problem is getting run over by the rhino just as barrier runs out with nothing for it but to be gored to death ....
The moment you get that passive,which fills barrier while damaging enemies,you are ready to carry.
When you get FC,you are god.
only if you promoted a lot of archers or have high ranged defence, my barrier fills instantly if there are 2+ mobs hit with cl but it drops to zero the second someone hits me with a charged shot (which is basically all the time against Templars) so far I managed to promote archers only 3 times because I don't play that often, that said aw is the only class that I play which has half decent survivability, and I have yet to promote a single melee char (cos I made some bad skill choices and there bonk)
Wow. My promotions are 1/4/7 or around that amount. Cut out SB in my 3rd arcane warrior build and it went fine, albeit I don't go perilous until like level 14ish on any character.
I've promoted AW more than any other class, the habit of defaulting to SB when surrounded was too hard to stop so I'd keep pressing square and would get close to death or just die. This used to happen before I jumped between all characters. I'd play 1 for a while then when I went to a new one I'd forget how to play it and make a fool of myself.
Is POTA supposed to teleport mobs once it ends or some such? I routinely see 5-6 mobs disappear in POTA and reappear behind me on a team mate.
I use CL, SF, POTA and SB. Seems to work well for me with a mod good staff, HP belt, 5% HOK ring and only a couple of promotions for archer and mage.
I tried using FS but found with a laggy connection that it could go bad very quickly. I think with practice it would work well. Also POTA really only works well when I'm with mates who coordinate play. Random PUG makes it vey hard as people turn it into a mess.
I think FC with the upgrade would be decent (I used it a lot in SP) but am not sure what I'd give up for it. Perhaps CL?
Do people find FC works well stepping into a mass of mobs pulled by POTA?
