Does/did anyone else here have this problem? My graphics card is  a NVIDIA Quadro K4000M, but for some reason Origin doesn't recognize it and uses the Intel HD Graphics 4000 card instead, I went to to NVIDIA control panel and changed both the global settings and program settings to "High-performance NVIDIA processor", but Origin still uses the Intel HD Graphics 4000 card, so does anybody here have any other ideas on how to fix this issue?

Are you talking about Dragon Age: Origins?  Cause the Origin client doesn't have anything that checks your video card.

No, I have Origins on Steam and it works perfectly, I am talking about EA's Origin digital distribution software.

I'm going with OP is troll as the client software does not assign Video card usage.

Believe me, if I was going to troll, I would pick a way more interesting topic than this one, just Google it if you don't believe me, many people have had similar issues (see here for example: https://forums.gefor...l-hd-graphic/),but unfortunately none of their solutions work for me, no matter what I do the the Origin games keep running the Intel graphics card instead of the NVIDIA one, which basically makes most of the games I own on Origin unplayable.

Has nothing to do with Origin and everything to do how your system handles the GPUs.

IF this really is an issue I hope the OP can expand into a little more detail into what is happening.  Because Origin has no features for enabling Graphic devices.

 

The only thing I can think of is if they have an onboard Graphics Card that they should disable it in the BIOS or Windows.

 

The other thing would be that his computer has some leftover registries that are causing a conflict in which case I would run CCleaner.

 

Update.  After seeing your post this seems more to be on NVidia's Side then Origin as people are reporting the same issue with Call of Duty which uses Steam, so it can't be related to Origin.

No, they don't, and that's the problem, I even tried uninstalling the Intel Graphics Driver, and tried running Mass Effect 3 later and it wouldn't even start!

You have to use your game's graphics configuration tool and then manually select the hardware device that you want the game to use.

I'm not sure if it's possible though with Bioware's games though. I'm on my work computer and I'm too lazy to find out. Maybe someone else can help you.

I installed the newest drivers for everything, nothing changed, I cleaned the registry, nothing changed, I tried reinstalling Origin and my games on it, nothing changed, I tried more or less every possible combination that can be done in the NVIDIA control panel, nothing changed, I added Firewall exceptions for both Origin and the games individually, nothing changed, I tried running them in compatibility mode and as an administrator, nothing changed, I tried moving the Origin folder from drive C to drive E (since that's where the Origin games themselves are installed), it didn't work, so I am really starting to run out of ideas, something is obviously blocking the NVIDIA graphics card from working on my Origin games (the games I have from Steam, GOG and GamersGate all work fine and recognize the NVIDIA graphics card).

 

Ironically, I tried running the games on my old laptop (which is way weaker than my new one) and on it the Origin games recognize the NVIDIA graphics card and run better than on my new one, but I still can't see any difference in the settings between the two laptops which could cause this to occur on my new one.

Sorry, your graphic card is too good to be true. Try installing (physically) an older VGA.

The only thing I can say is to try the NVidia or Intel Forums.  The post you linked had people stating they were having this issue with Steam games as well so that rules Origin out as a possible suspect.

 

I checked a few of EA's Help and support websites and there is nothing close to what you are describing there.  The only place I have seen issues is on NVidia's forums so the problem must be there.

Not necessarily.

All of the above could also be the case, ...or Origin could have been developed in-house by EA.
