This is my second playthrough after a couple of months since I first finished it. I got to Skyhold in DAI (been a while so , sorry if that's not what it's called.) However an annoying little guilt said something in the back of my head.

Guilt: "hey....how about you do the DA2 DLC kinda um...skipped out on those."

As annoying as that little bit of guilt is...he was right v.v I just finished Act 1 in DA2 yesterday and now I'm starting Act 2 and kinda getting a bit bored. Wondering if it's even worth doing the DLC (these side quests are a nightmare to do , just so many of them.)

Reason why I'm doing this again is...I really love the series and I wanna understand this Corypheus (Yes they may explain him in DAI , but I feel I'll learn him more on a personal level when I do his DLC.)

The Legacy dlc is in my opinion better than the original game. It has a great narrative, exciting conclusion, more diverse envoirments and challenging fights. Also it has a great deal of important lore to it.

Mark of the Assassin is also very good, but it doesnt have any value as a build up to more, it is just a story dlc that expands the universe abit.

I wouldn't want to play DA2 without including the Legacy DLC. And, of course, it really ties in well with DAI. If you play it, go ahead and take Hawke's sibling too, since it related to them more than most things in the game. I always play Mark of the Assassin also, but I'm not crazy about Talis.

The most awesome party for Legacy would be Hawke + Sibling + Varric and Anders, alot of content there.

Some of the fights are a bit more difficult, but i did Legacy in Act 1 on my aggressive warrior Hawke with Varric, Anders and Bethany, and Hawke's unaffiliated sister had a lot of interesting things to say in dialogue and banters.

For Legacy, I always take Carver (or Bethany) and Anders. I took Varric at first but now I will vary who takes his place. I'm glad the DLCs allow us more time with the siblings.

The Legacy DLC is built for you to take your sibling, Anders, and Varric - they get extra cutscenes that you won't get with other characters.

I'm up for buying the Legacy DLC but not really interested in Mark of the Assassin. That one seems more like fan service to Dragon Age: Redemption. Not that it's a bad DLC, it just doesn't seem to tie into much unless you watched the web series. Though, if you favor allying with the Qunari in Inquisition, then it's probably worth getting because it ties into that.

DLC in DA2 are great for many reasons, but my favorite is that you can reunite with your siblings. Legacy is decent, but I wouldn't say it was amazing, however Mark of the Assassin was great and I liked it the most. I tend to play those two DLCs just after I finish Act 2 and get champions armor set - it really makes the end more satisfying. I can't imagine playing the game without those two DLCs - they just complete the game for me :)

Legacy has great story elements, but the downside is, that you have to grind through endless battles to actually get to them. So Legacy for story. Mark is great cause it mixes up the gameplay. The story is just ok...

If you plan to play on Inquisition... then Legacy might be more importand than anything else that's happening in DA2

Legacy is extremely important to understanding DA:I and what exactly happened

Legacy leads into DAI. It's not super essential for understanding or enjoying the game or anything, but I do feel that it adds quite a bit.

Mark of the Assassin is actually referenced at one point in DAI, but it's extremely minor and not a big deal if you miss it.

I feel like MotA could prove to be important in terms of gaining a better understanding of Qunari AND Orlesian culture.   Admittedly, it doesn't add a -lot-, but there's at least a bit of explanation.

But otherwise, Legacy definitely has more meat story-wise.

In your opinion, which act is the best time to play the DLCs?

Legacy - Anytime after Act 1 and then bring along Hawkes brother if he's a GW (don't make Bethany a GW, she doesnt adapt well)
