I'm actually more curious about when this interview was recorded.
Nice... Maybe it was recorded a year ago?

I bet you don't work with lawyers, since I debated with you before I beleive this is going to just be going over your head. But Lawyers fallow the law and thus from a law stand point this could be seen as misleading or misinformation, which in turn can be classified as basicly false advertisement.
Ha. Ok then, knock yourself out, go see a lawyer, explain him the situation, then come back to us with a transcript of the action you intend to pursue over Bioware placing stuff that's actually in the game in different parts of the game than they are in a video 3 months after release. Go on, off with you, I'll wait here.

False advertising or deceptive advertising is the use of false or misleading statements in advertising, and misrepresentation of the product at hand, which may negatively affect many stakeholders, especially consumers. As advertising has the potential to persuade people into commercial transactions that they might otherwise avoid, many governments around the world use regulations to control false, deceptive or misleading advertising. Howver, they can get around these regulations and somewhat be considered legal.
If it was recorded a year ago then why make it a new video about the game /: is confused
Well if it's true then it's mainly because sometimes it is easier to schedule it this way, many of "behind the scene" things are done in this way.
Though it can still be considered misleading the views of the video by saying these alph footage are in the game.Well if it's true then it's mainly because sometimes it is easier to schedule it this way, many of "behind the scene" things are done in this way.
So.
What does that leave us with?
Two llamas, a yardstick, and a half empty beer can.
Ahaha dude don't be so condensing it
The most common of this type of thing is below learning is half the battle.
One common example is that of serving suggestion pictures on food product boxes, which show additional ingredients beyond those included in the package
Although the "serving suggestion" disclaimer is a legal requirement of an illustration which includes items not included in the purchase, if a customer fails to notice or understand this caption, they may incorrectly assume that all depicted items are included.
I don't want to be rude, but actual lawyers don't care about Wikipedia definitions (and judges even less, yet judges are the only one who's opinion matters here). Sure, if you squint and stetch the term beyond belief you could say it's false advertising of some sort. But nobody is going to waste time on something so minor and unconsequential, especially three months after release. As I said, if you want to go see a lawyer, don't let me stop you. But this is not a case. It's barely even the beginning of a case. You would be wasting everyone's time. Just a friendly warning.
Though it can still be considered misleading the views of the video by saying these alph footage are in the game.
Except they are not saying this. This is essentially a video talking about how visual effects are working in a video game and what is the impact of them in game as a medium and what is the personal approach of that particular individual to this matter.
A rock in a hard place.So.
What does that leave us with?
That "meteor spell" was actually implemented in the Rift Mage specialization, although Vivienne doesn't have it, it is still in game. The Western Approach does not have a day/night cycle, but the Hissing Wastes is set during the night whenever you visit that area. Also, there is a scene where you assault the Grey Wardens' keep, with siege equipment, so your argument is invalid as almost everything you mentioned is found elsewhere in the game.
Also, it is not "false advertising" as you are told multiple times before release that what you see represents work in progress that is subject to change. Nothing is written in stone in the development process.
A rock in a hard place.
Don't know what to tell you, I'm kinda relaxed about the matter. I feel fine.
Yes they are saying this in directly by claiming the footage had more in the game than what went in the shipped version. Again like the one above in my post example which mind you is the most common is of a ad that shows more than in the orginal product. Or another exmaple of misleading is that of a hard drive that has lees than it says in their adverstiment because of the drivers and software to run it.Except they are not saying this. This is essentially a video talking about how visual effects are working in a video game and what is the impact of them in game as a medium and what is the personal approach of that particular individual to this matter.
That's not correct but even if it was, why not show then those "stuff", as you called them, that are in-game instead of making an official video full of pre-alpha content that never made it to the finished version three months after releasing said game?
It is in game though. Catapults hurl projectiles at fortresses in Here Lies the Abyss, Firestorm is still an ability, and there is still a desert landscape depicted at night.
I find it unusual how people are complaining about these ridiculous, extremely small details, when there is so much more to the game. Even these weren't included, why sue? You wouldn't even have a legitimate case, and you'd just be wasting everyone else's time as well as your own. Nothing is stopping you from returning your copy and getting a full refund from the retailer. Why make it more complicated than it is?
I think people just like to be offended, and therefore they will purposefully look for things that will "offend" them. I will never understand those people.
Except they are not saying this. This is essentially a video talking about how visual effects are working in a video game and what is the impact of them in game as a medium and what is the personal approach of that particular individual to this matter.
They talk about the creation of game visuals, that are IN the game, if its not in the game then on what visuals they are talking about ha?

Honestly, if you feel like you need to sue to right this so-called "wrong", go ahead. No one's stopping you. In the end you will realize that you made an extremely childish decision that wasted not only everyone else's time, but your own. Seeing as we all have limited time in this world, and are free to spend it however we want, go ahead and spend yours by chasing baseless lawsuits. If some miracle happens and you win the lawsuit, I hope whatever compensation you receive brings you the relief you so desperately sought. Just know this, that when we all breath our last, your riches and material possessions will not matter. What will matter, is how you spent the time given to you and how it affected the people around you. If you want to be remembered as the guy who sued over a video game's alpha footage, be my guest. It will have no affect on me either way. I, for one, would like to use my time to influence those around me in the best ways possible, but apparently not everyone values their time as much as I do. In all honesty, I hope you find happiness in whatever path you choose to take. Just know that although we are free to pursue whatever path we desire in life, not all of those paths lead to happiness.
They talk about the creation of game visuals, that are IN the game, if its not in the game then on what visuals they are talking about ha?
As I've said before, they are in the game. Firestorm, the assault during Here Lies the Abyss, and The Hissing Wastes all have what you say isn't in game.
I feel dumber for having read this.
There should be a warning label on topics that will have this affect...It makes for safer forum navigation ![]()
They talk about the creation of game visuals, that are IN the game, if its not in the game then on what visuals they are talking about ha?
They are talking about how the visuals impact the game, it's a bit different. Notice the reporter's questions:
"How it is different than in movies?" "What visual effect might occur that are not noticeable but are just as important?" "Is there correlation between a character and a visual effect?" "How visual effect help to make the world look alive?" and then the obligatory "What is your favourite?" They are all neutral questions and the answers for the most part are theoretical/neutral too, nobody is promising anything (except for torches and campfires).
What a dumb thread.
The footage isn't even game footage as such - it's clearly test footage. The big clue comes early on with Solas spamming Winter's Grasp every second on a mob who still doesn't die.
Every effect shown in that video made it into the game. Every. Single. One. And it's a video about effects, not gameplay.
As for the ridiculous 'false advertising' claim - it's not an advert. It's an interview. About effects. Which are in the game. All of them.
Jeez - I get that some folk are upset with EA/BW about the game but threads like this are just plain pathetic. And dumber than a box of dirt.
So then why tell these people that these visuals are in the game, when they aren't. I would clasfiy that somewhat as false advertising or at least misleading the audience in to buying their games. They should stop using pre alpha footage to sale the game, since they cut most of those items in the finale product.
Ok.
So what would you see then when the game is in development?
