So what do you think about Tali and the Normandy? I've always wondered about how the devs came up with these crazy characters and Vehicles... so I made a theory about it based on real world facts. Feel free to share your thoughts

I don't really agree with the black bird - normandy connection.

Stealth ships are hardly a unique concept in sci-fi. I don't believe the stealth aspect of the Normandy was necessarily influenced by any one craft. It's a rather generic, common idea.

The actual shape and design of the ship, however, was inspired by real aircraft.

"According to The Art of the Mass Effect Universe, the SSV Normandy was based on delta wing fighter planes and the Concorde."

Normandy is like the Enterprise in Star Trek; a character first and a mode of transportation second. It seems like the Alliance would have done better to replace all those cumbersome cruisers with frigates who are a little smaller but so much more agile. It's a little odd though why it doesn't have defensive turrets against enemy fighters. I liked the SR2 the best: with Cerberus colours :)

Tali is an ordinary character to me that I have no positive or negative feelings towards. In 1 she's like the spokesperson for the Quarians, in 2 she's the short-ranged anti-synthetics expert and in 3 I like to get some heavy drama out of the game by having the Geth wipe out the Quarians and have Tali toss herself off a cliff. I was never overly fond of the Quarians, especially after hearing the Quarian-Geth history from Legion. The only one I feel sorry for when they all die is admiral Koris.

The alliance SR-2 seemed like a step back from the Cerberus standard. Seriously, they really messed up there.

Wires and boxes everywhere, the War room taking up a gratuitous amount of space, getting rid of the armory for an unused space...

As well, the new armory is in one of the more isolated parts of the ship, that takes a time consuming elevator ride to reach. Also, it's in one of the weaker regions of the ship that's easier for intrusion since it's the largest point of entrance on the ship.

Not sure what the alliance techs were thinking. Yeah Cortez, you guys are incompetent.

Well the Alliance SR-2 is incomplete. It was still in a shipyard undergoing construction and retrofits when the Reapers began their assault. I was surprised to see that it could still break orbit with all the wires and cables sticking out of some areas on the ship. The whole back bulkhead in the cabin was gone.

It was more or less finished without finishing the interior structure... which is baffling, considering all the times on the Citadel, as well as standard travel to put the ship back into order. FTL travel isn't instantaneous. The crew would still have days or weeks to work on completing final reassembly.

I chalk it up to alliance incompetence. God, I miss the Cerberus crew.

Deleting the science lab, and putting the conference room somewhere that isn't secured? Oh, BW, why did you force Shepard to turn himself in?

Not even going to touch geth/quarians, palestine/israel. It's not that clear cut.

The normandy on the other hand always reminded me of a sort of combo between the millenium falcon and the ship from x-men.

I always thought the Normandy looked more like a futuristic and more militarized version of the Space Shuttle.

Excluding Chole and Joker, I would trade in my military crew to get my band of mercenary's back. That is what I consider the Cerberus crew members. I really dislike Cerberus, but the people who were on my ship were okay by me. I do not trust all of the random new faces on my ship, and I do not like how the Alliance took my ship, and stripped it of the upgrades.

Dr. Michel is a civilian medical professional anyway. Joker is already a tried and true pilot, and he'd be with you no matter where you went.

I'd say that sans Sam, The Engineering team, and maybe Cortez, I'd drop the unnamed NPC's.

See, I'm the guy who flys the Cerberus colors with pride. They do what it takes, and I support their goals and methods.

Are you kidding? The People of Israel, (aka the Jews) existed long before there was such thing as a "Palestinian".

"Palestine" was a Roman-made pun on the word "philistine", which is HEBREW by the way, not Arabic, for the word "invader".

The Palestinians are nothing more than Arab squatters.

Want to know what a squatter is like? Google "Soldier in battle to rid home of squatters". The Palestinians are hardly different.

Yes I'm proud to kill off my crew and then some. Hahaha  And you know what's the best part? I still get the best ending. How cool is that? Anyways. Here's a playthrough that you can take a look at.

God, this f***ing spacecraft is so polarizing. On one hand, it's a marvellous feat of engineering which has proven itself time and time again. On the other hand, it represents everything that went wrong with the post-Apollo NASA. Instead of going beyond the moon, we retreated back to LEO and have been treading the same water for 40 years. Mars, which could easily have been seen a human landing in the 1980s, is as far away now as it was when Apollo ended. Well, unless you count bogus projects like Mars One.

Ha, Themikefest, you know you probably had your "readiness" at full. Because no matter how low your EMS is, if your "readiness" is high you will get a good ending... Trying to act like you are the boss.
