The Templar combo definitely works.... I too am not seeing most of these primers and detonators working as they should. You would think by accident people would draw 5-10 of these a match but talking with people I am hearing a lot closer to 0-2 per match and a lot of confusion how to achieve these combos.

 

I played last night and was using whatever primer or detonator I could think of and nothing. Not even scratch. The only thing that worked was templar combo, that gave me 3 points at some point and then nothing for the rest of match. I am absolutely confused as to what exactly I am doing wrong. From the whole evening, I accumulated 9 points, lol.

I guess I am gonna try templar solo later, or I´ll just pass this event up if it doesn´t work.

WoH then SP immediately after worked for me. Kinda difficult to do in pugs so you may wana try routine for that. I did get 6 combos with the archer but I have no idea how. Anyway, PS4 was 90k+/95k when I got off.

There are two classes that can solo this.

 

You get credit for the challenge by either initiating or detonating, but the combo has to go off.

 

Templar is a good choice

 

More than two. Templar's just the easiest.

 

Templar:

Wrath Purge

Shock Weapon + Crippling Blows ---> Sleep --> Purge for Nightmare combo

 

Keeper:

Static Cage or Static Charge paralyze, or Chain lightning --> Shocked (paralyze doubles as shocked) -->  Veilstrike (upgraded) --> Sleep --> Mind Blast or dispel

 

Arcane Warrior:

Static Charge (paralyze) --> Stone Fist (upgraded/weaken) (impact --> sleep). Dispel or Mindblast for Eldritch detonation / Nightmare.

Chain Lightning Shock --> Weaken Pota/Stone Fist/Passive --> Sleep --> Stone Fist or Mind Blast / Dispel

 

Elementalist:

Freeze (Ice Mine/Winter's Grasp) --> Stone Fist

Paralyze while Casting Stone fist --> Upgraded Stonefist weaken --> Sleep --> Immolate Eldritch Detonate --> Nightmare

 

Reaver/Katari

Sleep combo via Shock weapon + Crippling Blows weaken --> Sleep --> Mighty Blow detonation (also Whirlwind for Katari)

 

Alchemist:

Flash of Frost --> Freeze --> Twin fangs Shatter Detonate

 

I'm sure I'm missing some combos, but that's just off the top of my head.

Mine was done in about 4 matches, had some guy playing a katari smashing everything I froze with my necromancer.

I changed to katari myself in a different lobby(after I completed the personal challenge) when I saw a couple of mages and an alchemist, only for them to never use an ability I could detonate..

Could it be that on PC no character gets points for detonating THEIR OWN primes? Maybe because the DEVS did not intend that for the challenge?

 

Because,

I've tried and respecced my Alchemist and gave him knockout bomb. With Twin Fangs it does not give points.

I've tried and respecced my Katari and gave him grappling chain (update). With Mighty Blow it does not give points.

 

This is really getting annoying. Two broken high level characters just for this ***** challenge ;-)

Definitely can't be that no character gets credit for detonating their own primes. See the horde of templars doing just that.

It should be noted that Cross-class combos are exactly what they sound like. They involve one class setting a Condition (hard CC) and another detonating it (ability has to have Detonator in it's description).

There are 3 types of Conditions and 3 types of Detonators, corresponding to 3 classes. Some MP classes (and SP specialisations) have foreign Condition setter or Detonators, which means they can both set-up and detonate by themselves.

For example, Wrath of Heaven sets Stunned, warrior type CC, and Spell Purge is mage type detonator, so they make a combo.

Flask of Frost sets Frozen which is mage type CC, and Twin Fangs or Shadow Strike are rogue type detonators, so they too make a combo.

Lightning Bolt or Static Cage set Paralyzed, mage type CC, and Stone Fist is a warrior type detonator.

 

If you set-up a condition of one type and detonate it with a detonator of same type, it doesn't count as combo.

So annoyed about that I decided to blow all my 20,500 in one go, nothing really to get excited about in all the chests I opened, a rare great axe, rare staffs, (the ones I'm using are better though) two rare rings, lots and lots of potions and of course plenty of common loot trash to go around. Was about to turn it off but thought fudge it can't get any worse right, lets try one more large chest. Flicking through the cards, sigh, sigh, sigh, l get near the end, turn the purple card around and

 

 

 

finally, finally got this sword. Belinda it will look so good on you girl!

No. Those are basic combos, not cross-class 'team' combos. Sleep --> Twin Fangs, both rogue types of prime/detonator. If you were an alchemist with Flask of Frost --> twin fangs, that's actually mage prime / rogue detonate.

 

GC doesn't stun either iirc. So, pointless for this challenge.
