Since I know that some didn't like her in Inquisition and so maybe it's just me, but I'd kinda like to have Bianca along for the ride in DA4, even if that meant that we'd once again be following the Dragon Age tradition of having a dwarf companion that we couldn't romance? I mean, she's not only "involved" with Varric, but she's also married to someone else, so that'd put her off the table?

Scout Harding would be nice to have again and as a proper LI this time? Since the flirting never went anywhere in Inquisition (unless it does in future DLC), I'd be fine if maybe we found out that they went on a couple dates, but decided to just remain friends in the end? Besides, who doesn't want to find out if her first name isn't the only thing that has Lace associated with it?

I'd also like to have Dagna, because with all her mad science experiments in Inquisition, I'm digging the cute and psycho vibe she's got going?

Or Sigrun, because where in the name of Thedas is she and what has she been doing for the last decade? Having her as our resident Warden would be cool, especially if the rumours about us going north are true and we head near the Anderfels, since we had that plot thread brought up at the end of Inquisition that Weisshaupt's supposedly now in lockdown?

They brought back Leliana, despite being an LI + LGBT

I see two big differences.  First, they brought her back as an NPC, not a party member.  I can totally see Dorian coming back as an NPC in a Tevinter based game.  I just don't think he'll be part of the party.  Second, he's a gay guy.  There's a huge difference in the acceptance of gay guys and bisexual women.  Imagine if there are only 4-5 male party members and three of them are gay or bisexual.  There's a very vocal minority of players who would lose their minds over 'teh agenda'.  I just can't see it happening, to be honest.

The characters I want to be carried over would be..

Dorian,Harding, Cole, Charade, and Valor.

I also want Calpernia but she can die in DAI so it iffy. It's most likly going to be Samson.

If DA4 takes place in Tevinter Dorian as a companion would be fitting. Fenris, Calpernia (survives) and Alexius (spared) having cameos too.

I have to agree. If brought back he would be non-party. Calpernia would be the same case because she can die.

A teventer revolution has to be part of the plot. And to see how red lyrium effect Fenris as well.

The advisors are more than a regular NPC.  In particular, they create the same requirement for a lengthy separation from a romanced player character.  So I think it indicates that Bioware would be willing to have an LI turn up as a party member.

The second point, I'm afraid you may be right.  Though I don't know how much Bioware cares about those people, particularly since they'll likely (hopefully) have done plenty to incur their wrath anyway.

I'd rather there not be one, I'm more than ready to move on. Pretty much all of the cast I feel has gotten their share. Might be a bit unfair to the DA:I characters who only got one game so I'd be okay with some of them showing up as NPCs.

But long time characters, like Varric, Leliana and so on I'd rather be retired. I would say Morrigan should too, but BioWare seems to be setting her up as Dragon Age's plot-hogging special snowflake so we'll probably be seeing more of her

Plus, to be honest, I've never even met Calpernia and I'm 60 hours into my third playthrough.  I can gather, from the way people talk about her, that she's Samson's equivalent in the Templar alliance story-arc, but I think she's actually not that prominent of a character.  At least Samson was a recurring character.  Calpernia's new and half (maybe more) of the players will never even meet her.

Still not sure if I'm convinced but I'm willing to think about it.  So if the "LI's won't return as companions" thing is out, then that would mean that we'd have:

Cassandra, Varric, Solas, Vivienne, Sera, Bull, Blackwall, Dorian, and Cole

We'll still lose any Divine candidates, so:

Varric, Solas, Sera, Bull, Blackwall, Dorian, and Cole; Cassandra, Vivienne

We'd still lose Varric because they'll likely not three-peat him, so:

Solas, Sera, Bull, Blackwall, Dorian, and Cole; Cassandra, Vivienne, Varric

We'd likely lose Solas because of the ending (they're not going to bring him back as a companion after that ending scene with Flemeth):

Sera, Bull, Blackwall, Dorian, and Cole; Cassandra, Vivienne, Varric, Solas

We'd lose anyone who can die, so:

Sera, Bull, Dorian, and Cole; Cassandra, Vivienne, Varric, Solas, and Blackwall

So, at best, I think that these four (LI status being ignored for now) are the only possible candidates.  None of them, outside of Dorian would make much sense in a Tevinter based game (especially Bull, since he might be a Ben-Hassrath still).  And, I still maintain that Mae is more likely than Dorian for the 'reforming Tevinter magister' spot in our party.

All this being said, we might not even be going to Tevinter next.  That storyline can wait a bit, since it's an ongoing war up there.  I think they might be sending us to the Anderfels next because of that Grey Warden civil war that they hinted at in the epilogue.

Calpernia doesn't die, she "dies" by jumping off a cliff into a waterfall. They could totally say that she lived through it if they wanted to. However, I think making her a follower would kill all the interesting things about her. I do expect her to show up in DA4 if it's in Tevinter, though.

If they bring back Bianca, I'll revolt. She's freaking awful.

I would prefer one of the companions returning in an expansion, rather than in the fourth Dragon Age.

Then, in the expansion, we get new companions as well, and 1 new companion returns in the fourth main game, and is romance-capable.

If we do get an expansion, and we do get a companion from Inquisition, in it, then it should be Solas, or at least Cullen (yes, Cullen!). Varric doesn't have to make a return as a companion, I mean, Leliana and Morrigan (hardly a spoiler now, I think) returned, and they weren't companions.

while i would prefer an entire new cast of companions, it depends on where the next game is set

Tevinter/Par vollen: Dorian said he was going back to change tevinter ( not sure what he says if he is romanced ) i could see become a rebellion leader maybe

Tallis, maybe?

Varric, isn't he related to mae by marriage?

Iron bull possibly not sure there are many quanri walking around in Minrathous and in qun territory he may be tal-vasoth

Nevarra/Antiva: Any of the possible divines could be seen as a npc doing a Tour of all the countries in her domain

Iron bull krem said they operate in Nevarra as well as Orlais, could be sent by the inquisitor or by the qunari

Sera: new place to **** with nobles?

Scout Harding because she is the lead and sent out as the inquisition expands

And that's only if you don't convince her that Corypheus is using her, causing her to rage-quit and go back to Tevinter. Add that to the above possible means of her survival if she pulls a Richard Kimble off a waterfall, bringing her back in some capacity wouldn't surprise me? Or if they pull a Leliana and handwave her death away as another case of "I Got Better".

If they bring back Bianca, I'll revolt. She's freaking awful.

Ah she's not that bad, I don't know why so many people hate her?

I see no mention of Sandal so yeah... :D It would be interesting to see him return and as a full fledged companion! Also Aveline must comeback as a companion lol

Plus, I think that his role (idealistic, reform-minded Magister) is going to be played by Maevaris.  Gaider has already stated that he loves her character and wanted to fit her into DA: I, but she was created too late in the process.  I have a feeling that she'll be our "good Tevinter" mage companion if we go up there.  And, since they've already established that Dorian and Mae are allies, that's a great way to include a Dorian cameo and introduce Mae.

Sweet God, yes please.

How could I forget Sandal on my list of awesome dwarves? He would have the most easiest skill tree in Dragon Age, one skill and a focus.

Enchantment!: The screen goes black for a second and all enemies onscreen die.

Not Enchantment!: The screen goes white for a second and all enemies onscreen die, including things that weren't present before.

It's times like this that I feel a bit embarrased, as what I would like versus what everyone else wants is the complete opposite.

I really don't want a whole new mess of companions thrown at me again. After three games and an expansion, I'm a bit at capacity for new people. Perhaps it's just my natural introvert personality? I would rather have a handful of people that I know well rather than a whole beanie baby collection of characters I only kinda know. Then again, I'm also one of those "please don't make me be a new hero again, I'm tired of being told stuff I did as if it were second hand knowledge" people. I would much prefer to see multiple returning characters, and then perhaps 2-3 new companions. I suppose the only thing I could compare that to is Mass Effect 3. But considering how I felt about Varric in DAI versus Varric in DA2, I am hesitant to have anyone back.

If given the option, I would like to see Lace Harding as a companion, and as a LI. I enjoyed her as an NPC, and would love to see her fleshed out more. When it comes to current companions, Varric and Cole are the only logical future companions. Generally if you have an alternate path (such as being a romance, divine, possible death, ect.) you won't see them as a companion again. I enjoy Varric mostly, but I would rather see him retired as a companion and instead serve as a contact or advisor.

I'm apparently in essay mode, I apologize.

....Would be hilarious to actually have Inquisitor to carry over as a companion, with character established through Inquisition and any additional content we may get >D Dubt it will happen though, it would be a mess to implement.

Dorian is a definite most likely. Since we're going North, I think we might see a cameo from IB if he remained with the Qun. Or he may just end up a Tal-Vashoth for another reason; who knows. Doubt he'd be a party member though. I'm guessing we may end up with a female Qunari companion, which would be a nice change of pace. Varric's concerns are with rebuilding Kirkwall at the end of DA:I so I highly doubt he'd be a returning companion. Since either Leliana, Vivienne, or Cassandra can become Divine, I doubt we'll see any more of them either. I have a feeling that we'll run into Tallis in the future.

... Or, you know... We might get that one DLC for Inquisition - or opening for DA4 - during which every companion we had and will have will either die or... dunno.... disappear?

That was a trilogy with the same protagonist and they continued most of the companions for all three games in one way or another, with Tali and Garrus and companions and Liara with a major NPC role and her own DLC.
