Also, about leaving the 5th zone backroom. Assassin can hardly be of any use fighting directly in front of her enemies. Sneaking around and banging ranged units is probably one of the best things to do. As long as the player knows how to use stealth, use LoS and pick the right targets. Same true for archers which want to benefit from the height.

Yeah there are plenty of exceptions to that - and good players know what they can handle. I just smile when I see a level 4-6 Legionnarie on Treacherous race out into the midst of no-where (like the other side of the map) convinced they can tank the whole darn thing. But then, again - all about player skill. Like I said, just recording moments in game in a fun way when I've seen players race off and I'm thinking 'you're so gonna die.' Like, making a stand next to the flag is any better than focusing around the spawn point/choke point or the areas immediately around it. Arcane Warrior is another exception as they, of course, break the meta and the game. They go where they like. ;)

I'm not calling you a liar, but how do you know this?  In the case where it is just you and three people you don't know, do they vocalize their "humor and confusion"?  I'm trying to imagine how it would play out, but I'm just not seeing it.  Maybe you hear the opening melody to the Andy Griffith show playing gently in the background, before someone gets on the mic doing his best Barney Fife impression and says something like, "Well shucks, guys! How did that happen?".

In the case when a "friend or two is doing the same" then where does the "much" confusion come from?  I mean, three of you knew what was going to happen, right?

Anyway, what I'm really getting at is that I suspect you might be imagining what the other players are thinking/feeling.  It's a nice fantasy, but outside of one or two anecdotal incidents to cement your bias, I doubt it actually happens regularly.

I've never been so psychoanalyzed before, it's quite fascinating. I don't know what you think you gain by being so hypercritical, but if you really want to interrogate me like this, all I have to say is that you probably wouldn't believe anything I have to say and that you should try it out yourself and see what happens. The response you get can be very varied from one game to the next, but generally speaking, it is a red flag to people when they see a bannerless player go into their perilous lobby and they won't assume that you are just trying to troll them by going  bannerless. Sometimes people don't say anything and just ready up because they don't care about your banner, sometimes they abandon the lobby, sometimes they kick you, sometimes they try to kick you but not enough people vote for it so you complete the game and if those people who tried to kick you have a mic you can hear their opinion of you trying to troll them.

And make sure you can out-DPS most pug perilous players. Nothing more satisfying than getting told you're a newbie and then having double the next highest score.

No you are wrong the other guy is totally correct.  There is very little info in this game, actually less than what you could go by in MEMP.  Thus in a perilous pug game you have little to go on to know if a guy is going to be at least a non-liaiblity team mate.  The Banner is just about it, it at least lets you know that a person has played enough to get a banner and should know the basics.  The no banner guy could be a long term die hard player for all you know but the odds are greater he has not played enough to get any banner.

I'm sure Superblaze/John Hackett/Cassandra Saturn/Korra or whatever the hell he is calling himself now has that record beat.
