My game gets a long pause and black screen when starting a new game on
xbox 360. Is this simply due to importing my character, or should there
be some cinematic here before the options? I noticed a small sound
during the blackness, and then nothing until options load. Thanks.
(I posted this in the general discussion thread but it was quickly swamped and obviously not the best place to likely put it. If that thread could be deleted, it would be great.)

Bump. If you have had the same thing please let me know. I'm just afraid i missed something or it might be an indication my disc is messed up.

im encountering the same pause , however my system is locking up afterward.. i make it to the opening cutscene and freeze..

Sorry to hear that. Mine has yet to hard freeze. Just that pause that eventually gets to the options menu.

I had the same issue... quitting the game, re-entering and re-instigating the load of mass effect 1 fixed the issue.
