I dont want to buy a console to play ME Next....
So whos fault is that?
I dont want to buy a console to play ME Next....
That's really the thing. The PC community isn't actually asking for a lot here. Just don't hold us back. Don't limit your game to a console controller selection system.
We understand that you have to have that for the game, but don't stop there. When I see developers testing their product in videos using a controller.. I pretty much now that the UI for the game will be terrible. The KB+M UI if designed correctly should be the one the developers would WANT to use as it offers the greatest flexibility.
When we say a game is a "bad" port... we mean that its PC version only offers what a console is limited to having. Its like buying a new car and having bicycle handlebars where the steering wheel should be.
So whos fault is that?
Developers'? What if they release ME:Next in a way that its UI and controls are geared for K&M? Will you buy a PC to play ME:Next?
Point is, if you make a game for a certain platform, make sure that it uses and acknowledges features of the said platform.
If it is understood that the game was meant to be played/developed for the PC then no, I would not be upset. I would either buy the console version and experience the clunky "inferior" version or I would save up to build a good gaming PC to fully enjoy the game. I mean, StarCraft 2 is meant for PC using a KB+M set up. If it was ported to the PS4, I wont be complaining about how the game doesnt do the PS4 any justice.Developers'? Problem is, PC gamers have this entitlement that they are God's gift to gaming and that the universe centers around them. When something goes console specific/favored, PC gamers get all emtional and cause hissy fits cause they didnt get their way.
Asking developers to use the features of the platform is not entitlement. Use a controller for a console version controls but give K&M options for PC players. Which trilogy games do, actually. If, say, DA:I looked the same on Xbox 360 and Xbox One people would've rightfully complained about it.
Of course, some games are meant for controllers and some are meant for K&M but it's not the case for ME which is a third person shooter. It can and should utilize both.

Well what is wrong with playing ME4 on PC with a controller then?
Nothing and the game should have that option.

It is not entitlement to expect a game that has been released on pc to have controls that pc's usually do. That means mouse and keyboard. A lot of people might not have xbox or other third party controllers for pc, they might prefer using M/K at all times. And if the game is getting released on multiple platforms it would be nice to have the option for both types of controls on the more versatile one(pc). For something like DAI or Skyrim the controller is a more comfortable option(for me at least) but for an action/rpg/shooter like ME keyboard and mouse are a must. I am not that proficient with a controller to line up headshots.
I couldn't line up a headshot with a controller if you paid me. I don't see how people who play with controllers do it. But that's me.
So much for the PC being the "master race" lol.
Master race will fight to the end. Even if mastering BioWare's work with mods and commands will cause banhammer slam! Using dev console for fixing side quests was a fun part in Skyrim/Fallouts. Oh, I won't start on unofficial path releases... :>

Er, MENext will obviously have KB&M controls. That doesn't appear to be the core of many PC players' argument, which is that the game's menus and gameplay should be redesigned to accomodate KB&M better than it does a controller.
Well it will obviously depend a lot on the menus and gameplay both of which are completely unknown now. I think ME3 plays really well with KB&M from both the menu and control standpoint. If the next game will be like that, I won't have any problems with the PC aspect

Autoaim.
Dragon age inquisition was the right opportunity to switch from pc to consoles. I played DAI on PS4 and had a blast. Gaming on console while being less HD than PC it's so much better in terms of optimization and comfort. Gaming with the console controller is like travelling first class. This is my opinion ofc.
Respectfully I completely disagree.
yeah I missed the skill bar from DAO, it was brilliant. And the ability to change perspective when needed, so much tactical ability lost.

yep, I agree.
Mass Effect series are 3rd person shooters, much less problematic for the shooter centered FB3 engine, so Bioware really have to screw very hard to make bad controlls for PC. As for bugs and poor performance, expect those in loads, also expect a half baked game with alot potential not realized.
i will be honest i have played mass effect on pc and consoles
and playing it on pc dident make me feel wow what a lazy console port at all whatsoever.
Well what is wrong with playing ME4 on PC with a controller then?
Im not talking about a controller option for PC, its about menus and proper support for K&M. Im not paying a full price for cheap console port.

Did the console menus in ME1-3 bother you?
In ME games from the start the pc version controls were separate from the console ones. You can't even have a controller in the pc version. Sure they simplified the controls a bit so that they all fit on the controller but I find that only in certain times a bit annoying(mainly in multiplayer when reviving a player next to a wall.)
