Cullen was originally intended to be a bi romance option.

None of this matter though, in the end he was made straight and there is that. The end.

Really?  I had no idea.

He's clearly immature.

Harsh ....and no you don't know that. I will say this . There is zero evidence that the man holds any desires for the same sex . Nor past or present . Even with a great character like Doran who I wanted as a LI after Cullen is  a SS LI . And people are still bitching . Making Cullen bi was consider and nothing more . Be grateful for what you have . I am.

From what I can see the fandom is acting like a class of spoiled children .

I'm not demanding anything. I'm just not here for the biophobic and homophobic implications of all this "personality" bull crap.

And someone doesn't have to display their interest in the same sex to you to be bisexual. A bisexual person is not required to be interested in both sexes equally and simultaneously.

It matters to people who are using artists' intent in their argument for or against modding the characters.

Because I fully understand that.

It's just annoying to see statements like "people are never satisfied" blah blah, ( not saying you said it ) when it comes to romance.  Especially when these statements are flung at players who consistently have to make due with less options in the past when it comes to the orientation they want to play as.

I'm just pointing out that In regards to this thread, Cullen being made straight when there is evidence that he was meant to be bisexual in DA:I leaves a sour taste in some people's mouths because this isn't the first time that non-straight content is cut due to "time constraints" or whatever other reason.

So I just happened to attach my mild annoyance at the tone of this thread to your post.

Nothing against you personally.

Does not matter. At all. Even if you argue it for modding purposes it has nothing to do with the character as he/she is in the game.

I think that that a character's sexuality "feeling right" or "feeling wrong" to the author is generally okay. But saying a sexuality doesn't "fit his/her personalty" is different altogether and doesn't make sense to me. To me saying a character sexuality specifically feels right is allowing the choice to be somewhat beyond control and beyond justification. Saying that it doesn't fit a personality sounds like one's personality influences their sexuality. So maybe that's the question I should be pondering: how much, if any, influence does one's personality have on shaping one's sexuality?

I agree with this 100%.  I have absolutely no issue with an author writing a character as bisexual and then deciding, mid-production, that the story works better for them as a straight character.  I can understand it and it's within the author's right to do so without criticism, I think.  But saying that a character can't be gay or bisexual because it doesn't "make sense for his personality" is total and complete BS and definitely rooted in nasty stereotypes.  To answer your question, I don't think personality shapes sexuality, but I do think that sexuality can shape personality because of societal pressures/norms.  What I mean by that is that I totally believe that if you had a 'feminine' gay guy grow up in an open and accepting environment and that same 'feminine' gay guy grow up in a oppressive and homophobic environment, his personality as an adult would likely be different in some ways.  Not all ways; not even in most ways, but in some ways.

Okay, but that's the same "reason" that you already gave.  Afterwards, you stated that there were "other reasons", but you didn't want to say them because you were afraid they'd come off homophobic.  And then (disgusted noise) made the comment that you just replied back to.  So, nice try, but you know full well that it was the "possibly homophobic other reasons" that he was referring to, yet you responded back with your original argument.  It was deflection at best.

Again, if you think it's going to come of as homophobic, it's because what you are going to say is homophobic.

That is true. Thought I hadn't considered @sandalisthemaker's point that bisexual content may be cut because it seems to require more resources to support, which seems like a fair point.

Kaidan in ME.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the lines were there just like they were for Cullen.

I can't win with you people and I am so done .Anything said against Bi/gay will be labeled homophobic/biophobic /etc .

This thread as been here far too long and anything said here won't change the game or future games. Cullen will always be for the ladies . Either mod him or stfu.

I don't see why the hell this is still going on.

Cullen is what he is in the game, it will not change now or down the road.

You don't like his sexual preference ...too freaking bad.

No matter how many times you cry and stomp your feet or make ridiculous posts such as these it will not change what he is now.

People complained everyone was BI in DA2, now people complain some characters are not BI.

No matter what the DEVs do, they will never please disrespectful spoiled brat fans, who assume what they want is what is right.

You want Cullen? Roll a damn female and stfu about it.

Ah, you.

The one who said it doesn't fit his character.  Care to explain?

Yeah, I know he's straight.  Yeah, I know they aren't going to make him bi, and I don't want them to "change" him now.  What's done is done.

I don't see it that way ...

Just like men who used to say things against women didn't see themselves as misogynist.  And people who used to say things against black people didn't see themselves as racist.

You don't have to use slurs and gay bash people to be homophobic.

The problem is that someone found out the stupid file, if it was not found nobody would be the wiser and there would be no drama (well there would be a different kind of drama)
