Kaidan said some pretty...unusual things, let's say, for a straight male. Such as telling a male Shepard that losing him 'felt like losing an arm.'
Not that it's super relevant, since Cullen's confirmed as straight, so this thread is a moot point. But I read Kaidan as bisexual from the opening mission in ME. I've always thought that he was written and acted to have had crazy sexual tension with maleShep. The fact that he does that sexy turn-and-wipe-brow move when you talk to him regardless of gender; the looks that they give each other in that animation; the fact that, if you didn't romance anyone in ME as a male, he's the one that you get in the opening scene for ME2; the aforementioned "losing you was like losing a limb" dialogue. To me, it would have been more out of character for my maleShep to not be able to romance him in ME3, after finally reuniting with him. Having a crush on a girl 10 years earlier isn't enough "evidence" to prove he's straight and not bisexual. I guess it's likely that they intended him to be straight in ME, but it's vague enough that thinking of him as bisexual the whole time isn't a stretch in any way.
