I just heard about this on NPR driving home from campus.  I was completely shocked.
I will forever here all those Civ IV technology quotes in his voice: "Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies."
As cumbersome as Spock was for him at times, he did an amazing job creating an iconic character that has dramatically impacted that landscape of science fiction, and will continue to do so.  I know he will be greatly missed by family, friends, and fans alike.

Agreed definretely all fans of Star Trek anyway myself included as I'm a huge Trek fan myself as that's what got me into sci fi and I suppose eventually Mass effect being a huge fan of that game series now.

My favorite work from him isn't Star Trek, believe it or not, but actually his appearances on Futurama, where he plays himself.

I know it's no different than any other year, but it seems that so many great people are dying in really quick succession this year. Leonard Nimoy, Monty Oum, Kitty0706, all within a month.

Hearing this made me so incredibly sad. Spock was one of the heroes of my childhood, and later in life I came to appreciate the person behind the role as well. He will be missed.  :crying:

Maybe he can reunite with some of his old comrades now that he has passed this final frontier...!  <3

I never watched any of his works, but I respect him considering how much of an impact he has on many people.

Rest in peace.

I didn't know his name, just his role in the movie. The guy in the other thread tricked me!
