I wouldn't call the game Fahrenheit as awesome, tbh it was good in the beginning, then you reach the climax and everything becomes a WTF blown out of proportion imo.

I played farenheit and it was good... until the awful ending. I don't know how to describe its awfulness, but I want you be mentally prepared for a whole bunch of random plot twists. ot was going really well, and then it's like the dtory started channeling the weirdness of games like deadly premonition, which isn't literally possible because DP is a lot more recent, but it describes my feeling for how farenheits story was going nicely before it got all messed up.

Ah, yes, I got it now: the ending was an epic fail of Mass Effect 3 proportions.

Sad, but true.

you know that game has 10 endings right?

and a note to self - i should i really get the remastered version

My most loved games were Mechcommander Gold and Mechcommander 2, no game has ever come close to those two games for me.

I liked Heavy Rain. I didn't like Indigo Prophecy and I really didn't like Beyond Two Souls.

I read all of your comments and I sorta agree with everyone, not with those who say Fahrenheit was a bad game though. Maybe not as good as some other parts of the game but still awesome.

And I am checking the other games you have mentioned in your comments.

And you said 10 endings? man it means I will play it over and over 10 times lol

And yeah. AP is underrated. I wish they have made it a sequel and advertised more about it.

One thing that I like ery much about AP is that it gives you different choices both during dialogues and missions each with their own outcome and consequences, it is linear sorta but still it is not. For example, You can go and shoot the crap out of everyone in a mission or a base, and depending on your handler and attitude and answers,. get different outcomes, or go silent or stealth mode for another result. or a combination.

Fahrenheit is a bunch of prententious bullocks, which can best be described as David Cage sticking his head up his own butt while spouting stalling anectotes trying shamelessly to seem smarter than it really is.

Alpha Protocol, however, I'd agree is an excellent game. If we ignore that the stealth gameplay isn't the strongest in the world but instead consider the excellent implementation of RPG mechanics. I appreciate how Thornton is not able to hit the on-button of a tumble dryer a few miles away, without at least placing some points into pistols. I also appreciate how certain dialogue paths, and the order of which you complete certain missions, will actually carry a small effect on other missions.

The writing is as solid as one could come to expect from Obsidian and Avellone -- Thornton is basically the entire spectrum of an absolute ponce, but he's fun to play, and he's got some intriguing dialogue with a few of the characters. Especially with Marburg. "You answer to a cardboard cut-out, half your age, with the fashion sense of a screaming child who spends hours on his ****** hair; I may be on the run, but at least I'm better off than some monkey in a suit who can't even talk and put his pants on at the same time." Quite brilliant taunts he has going. Adding unto that, Alpha Protocol also has one of the best characters ever to be voiced by Nolan North, namely Steven Heck.

Finally..

The boss battle of the century.

Dude... they're not masterpieces. Read books if you love good stories.

Never played a game with a good story then.

I gotta admit that I really liked Fahrenheit. I also really, really liked Hevy Rain. Both games just somehow clicked with me. The characters, the atmosphere, and yes, to a certain extent the stories - loved it all.

I can't deny, however, that both are fundementally flawed. The at first somewhat intriguing plot of Fahrenheit just stops being a plot for the last third of the game and starts being some weird drug-induced psychosis instead. Just what the ****?

And in Heavy Rain there originally was a supernatural element, which explained quite a lot of the more mysterious things that happened. Only David Cage decided he didn't want to do supernatural in this game and cut the whole thing. Without, of course, replacing it or changing the rest of the story, which ended up just making no sense. Also great was the feature to listen to your current character's thoughts in order to get clues. Only that some of the player characters at times had secrets that would have given away important parts of the story... and yet the thoughts the player got to hear would at all times reflect exactly the facade the character presented to the game world. Lots of bad choices...

I started playing Alpha Protocol over and over again for the last years, but I never really made it very far. The clunky gameplay just frustrates me too much, which is a shame, because the setting, story and characters seem great and very much to my liking.

Play AP on easy.

I play all games with crappy/frustrating gameplay on easy.

Deadly Premonition included.

I really do need to get back to AP someday. Those that have dealt with my rambles know that I adore Avellone so very much (he's my go-to writer for a story I *know* will handle emotions in ways I feel them). The thing is, I only made it as far as the first mandatory hacking point. The mini-game gives me a migraine just by how my mind and eyes work. :( Not sure there's a way around the hacking points. Aside from that, I liked what I played of it.

Regarding Fahrenheit, I'm likewise of the mind that it was rather enjoyable until the last quarter or so went to complete terribad territory. Shame really cause when it was a murder mystery from both sides, I rather enjoyed it. Heavy Rain I do have a soft spot for, but I'm a sucker for "How far will you go for the one you love" type stories. It has its problems too but I overall felt it was the better game of the two options.

Yeah.

The Sherlock Holmes games are great.

Forgot that.

Errr.. but Poirot levels of awesome? I'm talking about "NO F*CKING WAY WAS THAT THE MURDERER?" Awesome.

Seriously.

You will never guess who the murderer is with Christie's novels.

Ever read "And Then there were None" ??

*goosebumps*
