Particularly any involving the Legionnaire, Keeper or Archer, since my wife only has those.

And do you have to be the detonator, or does the primer get credit as well?

Thank you.

archer can detonate with long shot and prime with knockout bomb

keeper can detonate with mind blast, energy barrage and dispel and prime with static cage, CL -> veil strike for sleep and lightning bolt

legionnaire can prime with upgraded payback strike to taunted enemies for stun and can detonate with lunge and slash and shield bash

Oy. I don't think we can get enough levels/promotions to do it in time. Too bad they didn't save this one for until after we get a respec option.

If you have the ability to unlock the necromancer or elementalist then I would recommend it.  Both kits come with Winter's grasp at lvl 1 which is a primer for combos. for a small cost of crafting it could be the difference in completing the challenge and not.

the problem is that everyone is picking those kits in ougs so there's no one to detonate. Really not the pugs fault though as BW were the ones that decided detonating others combos only helps the other player

Personally this is the only challenge I have gotten really frustrated with, I have tried multiple matches and only have gotten four completions so far.  I mostly PuG so that is probably the problem, but still its frustrated to try and do the challenge with a bunch of people that aren't even bothering to try.

You only get credit for the priming ability? Weird... and very counter to the teamwork aspect.

Pretty sure Fiddzz posted earlier that both priming and detonating count...?

Edit: haven't actually tried yet. Have you guys noticed that you don't get any combo counts towards the challenge from detonating?

Can you please provide proof? Since you are the contradictory info here I would like to see evidence.

Do the "secret" combos work? Like the Keeper could do shocked + weaken = sleep?

Should work and you can detonate with mind blast.

one solo round of routine with a lvl 13 Templar. You'll get like 60+ combos, I got like 80 Combos at the end of it

pretty much anything that puts a status effect on enemies:
frost, fire, fear, electricity can all be detonated

You can detonate the following status's: Sleep, Paralyze, Freeze and Stun

There are 3 different kinds of detonators: Eldrich, Impact and Precision.

Precision detonates:

Sleep = Basic Combo

Paralyze = Discharge

Freeze = Shatter

Stun = Rupture

Impact Detonates

Sleep = Rupture

Paralyze = Discharge

Freeze = Shatter

Stun = Basic Combo

Eldrich Detonates

Sleep = Nightmare

Paralyze = Basic Combo

Freeze = Basic Combo

Stun = Weakness

You cannot detonate fear, burn, chill. You can mix shock and weakness to create sleep and detonate that, but the status's themselves cannot be detonated.

You can detonate stagger, it counts as stun.

What's the Templar combo?

Do they really have to be cross-class? What does that even mean? It has to be one that isn't a "basic combo" on actionhero's list?

Templar can use Wrath of Heaven to AoE stun, and then Spell Purge (an Eldritch detonator) to AoE detonate. Because Eldritch + Stun is not a basic combo, it counts.

Based on what I've read, you can use the following as basic guidelines: Precision detonators are usually Rogue skills, so comboing with the primer more closely related to other Rogue skills (i.e. Sleep) does not count as a cross-class combo.

Impact would be your Warrior detonators, so comboing them with Stun (the "warrior" primer) also does not count. Eldritch is for Mages and doesn't count when used with Paralyze and Freeze. Obviously there are exceptions (see: Templar having an Eldritch detonator).

If my only options were those in your first post and I was pugging, I think I'd have the best luck with Archer where Long Shot would be the Detonator, and just keeping and eye out for any enemies Frozen, Stunned, or Paralyzed. Could also throw Knockout Bomb on the bar, which would likely see the best chances of going off with a Mighty Blow Warrior on the team.

To be a bit more clear, as we all know, there are 3 "major" class types. Warrior, Rogue and Mage.
Primer and Detonator abilities all have a class type.
e.g. Winter's Grasp is a "mage" type Primer and Stonefist is a "warrior" type detonator.
This means that an Elementalist can do cross class combos solo.
Similarly, a Templar can do cross class combos solo using Wrath and Purge.

There is another post floating around here that details exactly which spells fall under which "major" class type, regardless of which class can cast them.

Out of those listed the Archer would probably be the easiest to do it with. Just have your Longshot and use it on any primed mob.

Course, if you craft the Templar you can have it done in a single match if solo.

honestly the easiest way to do this would be to quickly unlock the templar, it doesn't take that much, a few matches should give you what you need, then level up till you have wrath of heaven and spell purge, I logged on did one match solo, and bam, the weekend challenge done, just have to wait for my victory chest.
