The other problem with a DA show/movie is - do you really want different actors playing your favourite characters? Do you want to see someone other than Claudia Black as Morrigan, or someone other than Simon Templeman as Loghain? Personally, I don't.

I dont want a TV DA series to play things that  are ingame, but a totally other story in Thedas with diffrent chars, that would make DA series be awsome.

You'd end up with something like this...

I don't want the Hero of Ferelden or the Hawke story. I know I wouldn't approve of the player characters (who obviously now wouldn't be playable).

I'd like a series that was set in the DA universe but with a new story and characters though. I don't think it will happen but if it was made I would watch it

I could see them doing a Dragon Age Origins or 2 movie (Let's cast Gerard Butler or Joel from the Last of Us as Hawke). But it would have to be very high quality.

Troy Baker doesn't actually look much like Joel, though. So he wouldn't really fit with Hawke. He looks more like Anders, if anything.

Oh, please no.  What is so alluring about television?  Leave it to be gameplay in its world and not staring oneself kookoo at a screen.

You'd end up with something like this...

It WAS NOT FULLY CREATED BY BIOWARE it was and I quote- "IN ASSOCIATION WITH BIOWARE"  it means it wasen't fully created by Bioware, think about a TV series NOT BASED on any ingame protog and a total side story created fully by BIOWARE WRITERS  and David Gaider being its lead like any DA game, and let time and not rushed like it has a purpuse, would be an epic TV series.

Edit: And it wasent THAT  bad, wasent 100% right about lore, but it was entartaing.

I don't see it happening. Not only are we not yet living in a time when Games make good adaptions, but they can't get ME off the ground.

It would be a major flop.   I love dragon age, but I and many others wouldn't watch it unless it was its own story.   They couldn't just re-tell the wardens story or Hawkes story.   Everyone has their own idea about who those characters are, and are not going to like seeing someone portraying "their" story incorrectly.

No. No. No.

Games into movies is always a bad idea. Anyone remember Mortal Kombat? Street Fighter? Super Mario Brothers??

Bad. Idea.

I liked Mortal Kombat (the first 1995 movie) as well as japanese Street Fighter anime >.>

I don't want Dragon Age movie featuring player character. The hero won't be mine, the romance won't be mine and the choices won't be mine, so meh.

plus we've seen the stories already.

Street Fighter: assassins fist is a new movie, and is quite good. It was produced with the help of crowd funding, and as you might expect it is about as faithful to the lore as a street fighter movie could be.

Dragon Age Movie & TV Series Would be good Idea, & not animated, there is wardens story, the hero of ferelden story & then there is hwke story & then there is inqusitor's story, the all 3 have ther own series, but in 1 day it mite become 1, but before that there are a lot of cross overs like in DAI, like Hawke showing up in DAI, but he is shown more in the series, but they will follow the book story more, in maybe in the middle of the game & the book, i would, i would like to see DA live action series one day, not animated

The problem with telling the game stories in movie or TV form is everyone would be comparing what they did in the games to the movie/TV series and there would be endless threads complaining about how the movie and TV series stink because they don't match the viewers game experience. If they chose to make a completely new movie/TV series set in the DA era with a new storyline then I would like that.

If anything, it would be a great way to permanently ruin the franchise.

Dawn of the Seeker was one of the worst things I've ever seen. It was just awful.

When people make video game movies you get this

large_sMA8hNVH7hd1TqXwA2qhCYvijQA.jpg

Or

DOA_-_Dead_or_Alive_(movie_poster).jpg

So no it is not a good idea.

"no, game to movies are all badly done, and I don't want to try changing the situation because it's too hard", is the attitude I'm reading into here.

if people like you ran the world we'd still be waiting for the internet to be invented and be reading about the game on paper and ink still. You think game to movie adaptions are just going to stop been lame and get good as if by magic?

No because i have seen many times game movies turn out badly let me drop names

Hitman

Dead or alive

Mortal kombat

Max payne

All resident evil movies except the first one

Street fighter

Mario

Silent hill

Prince of persia

Far cry

How many more chances do you want to give them most game movies are terrible and i have given them to many chances and they have turned some of my favourite games into a joke. But please ignore all these bad films and keep making more they have been doing a great job so far turning great series into crap for the big screen.

Its time you wake up and see its a idea that does not work. I do like Doom and The First resident evil film but to many times game movie films fail.

^ Hey, I watched few movie adaptations.

Bloodrayne - loved both the films and the games.

Resdient Evil - never played the game, love the movie

Mortal Kombat - liked id too

Prince of persia - played this game last time 25 ago on 2-color chercules PC and I Iike the movie very match.

Those few examples fer from top of mu head, there are probably more.

I would rather watch anything game -> movie than another Super Heroes or transformers crap.

TIP: If the movie get made, to potect yourdelf from "ruining" the freanchise for you just simply don't watch it.

OT: I would very like full blown movie portraying the events of DAO according to Bioware canon.

I think the issue lies more in that video games are typically adapted by grade A schlock peddlers like Uwe Boll or Paul W.S. Anderson. In and of themselves, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the material found in a lot of games, but I suspect that video games in general carry a certain stigma that makes it hard to attract better talent to it.

I think the only good film adaptation of a video game I've ever seen is the Ace Attorney movie. Not perfect, but damn good and very true to the source material. It probably helps that it's an adaptation of a very narrative-driven game. That doesn't mean that video game adaptations have to suck. I'm sure Hollywood will make a great one at some point, just by the law of averages.

I don't see any reason that a film or TV project set in Thedas couldn't hypothetically work, but I don't think the audience is there yet for anything live action with a big budget.

I don't see it happening. Dragon Age is nowhere near popular enough for a movie. Well, there was dawn of the seeker but that wasn't all that great...

I wouldn't mind it though, as long as it stayed away from the events of the games and got the lore right. And wasn't live action.

The other problem with a DA show/movie is - do you really want different actors playing your favourite characters? Do you want to see someone other than Claudia Black as Morrigan, or someone other than Simon Templeman as Loghain? Personally, I don't.

Because this. And because they would never get a big enough budget to get good actors or half decent CGI and effects.

But even still, unless one of dragon age's writers were working on it and it had a good director behind it, i doubt it would be any good. Video game adaptions are generally **** because the people willing to work on it aren't very good and are hoping to make a quick buck off the franchise.

But if the day arrives where a good Dragon Age movie is released, I will happily rejoice and dance naked under the moon. But alas.

Bioware should stick to what they're good at... And that is ruining games.
