Mine has to be The Emerald Graves. That beautiful, lush, green forest, filled with those gargantuan trees and Elven lore. I can recall one of my favorite memories from the Graves. It was when I first went to fight the Greater Mistral. "The Lost Temple" started playing, and the beast flew into the sky, as I approached the clearing for the first time. For once, the trees did not obscure my view, and the vista before me was spectacular. Wasn't bad that later, after killing the Dragon, I finally got the Inquisitor's Helm from the trailers ![]()

Emerald Graves is nice for sure. I ran into that one area with 2 Giants and a couple of Brontos (I think) and got obliterated pretty quickly.

Second favorite was the Storm Coast.

Other than the Emerald Graves, I'd say Val Royeaux, I love the architecture there, also I'm considering Skyhold if they patch up those holes. ![]()

Crestwood, the story chain is interesting, and the contrast between the area pre, and post-chain is a sight to behold. There are interesting quest, multiple layers, and lots of little nooks and crannies to look around. The enemy selection is also diverse. It's by far my favorite area.
Emerald Graves is number two, for having my favorite quest chain in the game, lots of difficult battles, some interesting side dungeons, and just for being amazing to look at.
du Lion's also worth mentioning for its set-piece battles, and quest line. Moving from camp to camp in that area, especially because it's one of the highest leveled areas, really made me feel like I was pushing back, and taking ground for the Inquisition.
The only areas I used to actively dislike were Oasis, and Exalted Plains. I've warmed up on the Plains since some of the dungeons, and extra areas unlocked. The Southern section is home to what's probably my favorite real dungeon in the series, not just DAI.

The Hissing Wastes, pretty much entirely because the desert is beautiful at night. It's also clean.

The only thing I disliked with the Hissing Wastes is that it felt like I'm moving at a very slow pace there when I'm traversing the area, though I agree the atmosphere and calmness of a desert in night is really spot on.

I really like the Hissin Wastes because i love desserts and especially at night, second i would have to say Emprise du Lion i loved the old ruins and snow it really did it for me, and third Exalted Plains because you have both the ugly battlefields and beatifull views.

Hinterlands for me, although Hissing Wastes is a close second.

Hissing Wastes, empty deserts at night brings a certain amount of peace and calm to my mind. I like it.
Emerald Graves comes second. I love the villa and the river and tall trees and the ruins. And the extra large Great Bears. I hate killing them I wish I can cuddle 'em instead!

Hissing Wastes, desert at night is just so romantic
.
Also, no dead-ends and no mazes. (Looking at you, Emerald Graves and Exalted Plains. And Storm Coast. And Emprise. Actually, almost every other map.)

Hissing Wastes, no doubt about it. The stars and the moon, the peaceful atmosphere... everything about it, really. Too bad your inky can't spend a romantic camping night in there with his/hers LI. ![]()

I think my favorite one is Emprise Du Lion... it is astoundingly beautiful with the snow and the bridge, and the coliseums... Emerald Graves is gorgeous as well, I love lush forests, and that one is amazing. I like almost all of them, actually... It will sound strange, but I really like the Fallow Mire too... not to take a walk or to stay there, but it's beautiful in its own way... with the moon, the lightnings, the water, the rain, the dark atmosphere, the music and the mystery... it's a great setting for an unsettling story, it actually makes you feel cold.

Another thing about the Emerald Graves. It fits the image in my mind of what Valenwood would look like very well, and I've been wanting an Elder Scrolls game set there for ages.
The Wissing Hastes would have to be my second favorite. "The desert is immeasurably more precious with you in it, Scout Harding." One of the smoothest lines in the game IMO.

Boy, how to pick a favorite. The Hissing Wastes is up there as well as the Emerald Graves. I also have to give a shout out to Emprise du Lion, The Arbor Wilds and the Storm Coast. But every level was beautiful.

Hissing Wastes is one of those areas I'm saving to explore in my 2nd playthrough. All I've done is ran to that one merchant to buy some stuff. Other than the Hinterlands, Forbidden Oasis, and Fallow Mire, I've only halfway explored each map just so I'll have more to do on a second playthrough.

Storm Coast, Emerald Graves, and Emprise du Lion.
It's too bad all three are completely skippable and have nothing to do with the story.

There was something special about the Emerald Graves. Don't know what it was but I really took a shine to that place.

My favorite (just the view) would be the Forbidden Oasis, followed by the Emerald Graves and the Storm Coast. For exploring, there's something about the Western Approach that I never get tired of...
What? No votes for the Fallow Mire?
Well, while I may not be looking to build a chateau there
, it does convey that sense of dread (music and atmosphere) really well...
