I like the Hissing wastes, easy to navigate. Emerald Graves is gorgeous, Crestwood has the best quest chains, The Oasis and Western Approach remind me of Utah canyon lands so, that's pretty. The Hinterlands remind me of home, so I like that too. Exhalted plains is my least favorite, but still some good content there.

My favorite would be the Hinterlands, followed by Crestwood and the Emerald Graves.

I didn't like the hinterlands for one reason, I explored it fully in 2 playthroughs and the third is tedious, but the emerald graves was the best, especially the battle with the neverending giants

Fallow Mire for the way the random encounter works.

Hissing Wastes for it being one big treasure hunt.

Storm Coast for the ocean and the dragon.

Crestwood in terms of story and Exalted Plain in terms of appearance.

My favorites are probably Emerald Graves and Hissing Wastes. I actually like Fallow Mire too so there. :P

My least favorites are definitely Hinterlands (sick of it by now) and the Exalted Plains (so sick of those stupid ramparts sections where you have to burn the corpse piles...). I also really dislike the Forbidden Oasis, because nothing is ever on the level you are on. You either have to go down or up, and it's just very annoying. I skip it all the time now.

One thing I really like about the Hinterlands is that the orange flowers there look just like California Poppy, our state flower.

I think my favorite area is The Emerald Graves. The area is gorgeous and it's pretty emotional as an elf.

All of the maps are beautiful, visually the western approach is my favorite because its the opposite of the snowy climate where I live in real life.

Emerald forest or Crestwood for me.

Just seemed to have to the more interesting quests I suppose.

I think merging Oasis and Western approach would have been good. 3 desert areas was perhaps 1 too many.

Exalted plains was a disappointment. I see what they were going for. Execution was lacking.

Favorite: Crestwood or Emerald Graves.
Least liked: The Hissing Wastes. I don't like sand, it's course, rough...., and gets everywhere.

From a gameplay perspective Crestwood: that area ties togheter all the features of the game in a perfect way: main story, side stories and explorations. Nothins is pointless in Crestwood

From an artistic perfective I'd say Hissing Wastes: that area is just incredibly amazing.

I think I liked just about all of the maijor exploration areas, but Hissing Wastes is probably my fave.

I'd say the Western Approach, but the cats keep burying my Requisition Officers

Completely agree with Exalted Plains as a least favorite. Whoever designed those ramparts is evil!

Favorites would have to be the Storm Coast, the Arbor Wilds and Forbidden Oasis.

Other than the Emerald Graves, I'd say Val Royeaux, I love the architecture there, also I'm considering Skyhold if they patch up those holes. :P

Careful that you don't get lost in that BIG city....

I like the Exalted Plains as a military guy I can tell You that warfare is dirty (look at the rampart floors there are roaches everywhere), miserable and exhausting and that area really Portrays it well. Also it does a decent job of showing what static Late medieval siege warfare was like. Ramparts are supposed to be hard to navigate. You want to make it disorienting and confusing if your enemy is assaulting your position.

I also loved all the western arid maps, Crestwood, Fallow Mire, Emprise Dr Lion and the Emerald Graves. I guess all of them lol

Emprise du Lion because its different- distinctively so.

There is so much sand in maps- I almost start spitting it out behind the screen by just playing in it. Hissing wastes and Western approach are very similar in this respect. I would have maybe liked seeing them as night and day version (after plot event like in Crestwood) of the same map rather than two distinct areas. That said, I did like the content of both (keep, tombs, Venatori- idea in general and buildings) but they were a bit too.. scattered maybe, accentuated by the fact that both areas were driven by questing by picking up notes and fondling objects, rather than quest givers (except for Frederic and the one hunter pretty much).

I am naturally happy to see Western Approach fleshed out after Asunder and hence it did hold a special importance in my mind, but when I hit Hissing Wastes on my first ever playthrough, my first thought was "No more sand! Wasn't I here already?". That said.. they are both gorgeous areas, no way around that.

I did also like Hinterlands though, just because I did get the impression that I was back in Ferelden (except I am not fond of those lyrium smuggling bear armies).

The Hissing Wastes and The Western Approach. Especially that temple in the Approach. Loved it!

The Hissing Wastes, pretty much entirely because the desert is beautiful at night. It's also clean.

Yay I am not alone. The nightscape with the giant moon. The vastness of it. The Dwarven Thaigs to explore. The crags and climbing to skycamp. I just love it.

*Edit* - Emprise du Lion as a second choice. I love snowy areas in any game.

There are areas I enjoy simply because it offers a change. The move from the Hinterlands to Fallow Mire or the Storm Coast was refreshing, then over the Western Approach for some sun and sand. Crestwood's changes in weather was quite pleasing, as was the exploration. Liked something about all of them.

But if I had to pick a favorite, I would say Haven, as it offers a sense of peace, has a lot of story, banter, and dialogue. It gave me the feel of a comfortable Tee; something relaxing for after work. And exploring the snow capped hills and lake is pleasurable; a nice place of rest.

Well, until.... :)

Emprise Du Lion by far, just beautiful.
