Really?

I interpret the closing of the Citadel in the Control ending the creation of a new reaper..... just what the reapers wanted.  The Blue signal sent to the relays to acknowledge the newly created reaper.

I prefer to think Shepard is just buried under the rubble because he made the right choice. Any other choices and Shepard is dead.

And while browsing through some pages, I found out something very interesting. Shepard absolutely survived the High EMS Destroy ending of ME3. If you had over 5000 EMS AND the iOS app, you received a message sent to your iPhone or Mac from your Love Interest saying how badly they wanted to visit Shepard in the ICU,

However if you did not have an iPhone or Mac, you did not receive this message. And Bioware trolled everyone who didn't have the application. The writers simply should have stated "the definitive answer is found with the iOS app" if they didn't want to give away any spoilers. Instead we got trolled into a fury.

From TVtropes Mass Effect. This was found under two sections. The Word of God - was Casey Hudson.

Interesting. I still don't particularly care if Shep dies though to be honest, in fact I might be a little bitter if our new protagonist turned out to be Shep again. Not that this necessarily means he/she's the new protagonist. Although now I'm having dark visions of it being a clone...

Ilos protheans in cyrogenic sleep underground... reapers waited for them until the powers drained. You do have a point the reapers did fail multiple times with attacks and lost the element of surprise which means everyone in the Citadel was putting up a good fight... then how come going back into my main issue TIM just waltz right in and beat the Reapers to it? even attempting to control the reapers himself with ease the first organic life to step foot near the catalyst? was it because he was indoctrinated he knew the location?

"Video logs found on the station show that the Illusive Man allowed himself to be implanted with Reaper-derived nanotechnology, with no anesthetic. He also refused to allow Leng to kill Shepard, whom he doesn't want to write off as a total loss yet. He also reveals that, while he does consider Shepard to be his enemy, he still has a great deal of respect for the Commander and warns Kai Leng to show the same respect."

Hence his face: Illusive_man_modified.png

I wonder how he waltz right in with those implants... c-sec must be blind

the main issue here is not the reapers, not shepard, not the ending, but how THE ILLUSIVE MAN single handedly took over the Citadel or just "went there" without anyone noticing his big bugger in his face and nobody responding about the "movements" or possible "lost of control with the citadel because of the catalyst"

then... the tea party with Anderson starts.

Wait...I might be misinterpreting you here, but of course TIM knew exactly what to do, where to go, and he likely had help from reaper forces/indoctrinated agents. Because yes, TIM was indoctrinated. Not so subtle hints in the dialogue of ME3 lend credence to the notion that he was indoctrinated for the entire game of ME3, in fact.

The Illusive Man fled to the Citadel and informed the Reapers of the plans to destroy them. The reapers took control of the Citadel and moved it to Earth. This is where the plot gets really stupid. Why not leave the citadel where it was and let the Alliance attach the Crucible to the Citadel and then interfere with Shepard? Because he knew that the reapers will kill everyone except Shepard? Wow what a leap of faith! Holy crap! Or was it so we'd have a battle on earth and not the citadel? Take back Earth! 1917 style! Let's do it!

It would have been much easier just to take the relay's in proximity of the Citadel off line than to actually move the Citadel itself. Of course, that's IF keeping the Crucible away from the Citadel was the purpose. If the purpose  was something other than that, then it makes more sense to move the citadel. A purpose like say... getting the organics to martial their forces and launch the majority of their heavy ships and fighters in a desperate assault that they could not win. The Reapers have been aware of the crucible for several cycles. They must have made up some kind of countermeasure to the thing at some point. If that was the purpose of the move then it makes sense. Instead of hunting them down, just present a target and let them come to you. Carrot and stick.

More like 1944 style with their aping of the Normandy beach landings via beam run.

The beam run charge was straight out of WWI trench warfare:  human waves against entrenched machine gun positions.

And now the mako flips and lands on (Garrus, Ashley, Kaidan, James, Liara, EDI, Tali, or Javik) and Shepard calls for a time out, the firing stops, and the Normandy swoops down in front of Harbinger and remains there while Shepard and the uninjured squadmate load the injured squadmate/LI into the Normandy with Harbinger looking on shedding a tear.

Couldn't Shepard have used this break in the action to make it to the beam? No. Shepard is bound by "cut scene incompetence." But it also seems to affect Harbinger here as well since Harbinger could have blasted the Normandy into dust. Hence I'm calling this a two minute time out. It was during this time that Anderson sneaked onto the Citadel - however, in the Original Ending this is not the case. There was no timeout, so more opportunity for the indoctrination theory to exist. So this is probably what The Illusive Man saw in his vision that Shepard was going to survive the beam run and make it to the Citadel so he could interfere with him alone. In either case it was absolutely brilliant writing!

To be honest, before priority Earth and when I raided that Cerberus base that exact moment when TIM and the Prothean VI informed me about the situation in the Citadel, I was expecting Joker to intercept the station or Shepard plan another massive suicide mission to re-gain control over the Citadel in order for the Crucible to dock I was so pumped for an epic battle in the Citadel... but you know we went home to... I was born in London
