I see that they are now taking applicants for the patch 6 beta  (I think this is an awesome idea by the way, what better way to have a wide range of test systems and players than have the DA community test it, voluntarily of course), does this mean that the release of patch 5 is eminent?  I'm just curious if any one has heard.  I'm anxious for the patch because of access to the Emporium and a storage chest in Skyhold.

Most likely they are polishing up the patch, doesn't mean it'll come soon. It'll probably come sooner for PC though, since both Microsoft and Sony require a 2 week verification process, and that's if they don't find anything they don't like and make it be done all over again, then go through the verification process again.

I suspect they're including the patch 5 material in patch 6 and only patch the game once. I also suspect that some of the issues brought up in patch 5 are fixed/changed in patch 6. In other words, patch 6 will be basically an additional iteration of patch 5.

And no, I do not know. I am part of the beta program, but if I knew, I wouldn't be allowed to say. I'm just speculating.

I'm not part of the beta programme, but this would have been my initial assumption too. I expect the testing done for patch 5 would have thrown up a fair few issues, and maybe some things that needed additional time and maybe needed to be rolled back to a later patch. But testing for patch 6 could only really be done on a game that had a stable patch 5 in place, and if testing for patch 5 is still on-going, that presumably means it's not stable yet, so it makes logical sense that patch 6 would be an amalgamation of patch 5 and patch 6 that might get pushed together.

But... not much point speculating. I'm happy they're taking the time they need to make it as good as possible, and I'm grateful they're including the players in the process.

Sounds likely based on timing, and the amount of new stuff in Patch5. I'm signed up for P6, hope it doesn't have many issues

I would guess that patch 5 is going through cert, or at they are at least wrapping up (so any new fixes will be in p6). So I would guess 8-15 days.
