So Im at the point where I choose the Chargers or the qun, I'm in a gem Qunari romance with him and was wondering what's the "right thing" to do in this situations. Thoughts?

Neither really affects the romance, so just pick one.

If you're looking for emotional attachment and making Iron Bull more human you'll probably want to choose the Chargers. If you sacrifice them you have basically pushed Iron Bull back to the Qun, and you get to go through the romance with the sinking feeling that you are second to his duties under the Qun.

You want to get the "I love you", you have to save the chargers. If you want the "You help me remember the man that I am and have been an important part of my life experience" keep him with the Qun.

I'd have to say chargers, because I've noticed that Iron Bull seems to die a little inside if the chargers die. He doesn't seem as happy or lively (sacrificed them with an unromanced Bull to see). Doesn't really make sense to push him towards the Qun if you romance him.

Does that line actually change?

Yes. You don't get the option to tell him that you love him and he doesn't say it either. Also I believe at the end it's a lot less...we have a future we can plan and more...for now I have no orders. How long do you think the Qun will let one of its best tools sit idle for?

Just imagine the little bit of emotional attachment a Qun-ified version of Iron Bull does imagine to hang onto. Then imagine how long that will last the first time he returns to Par Vollen, and gets a visit from the re-educators.

Savvvveeeeee the Chargers!

There is no "right" choice. If you choose to honor the alliance and save the dreadnought, he comes to an epiphany and rededicates himself to the Qun. He'll admit that his relationship with you wasn't just a job though. So, it's kinda bittersweet. Although you will get to hear Solas brutally insult Bull non-stop for choosing to save the ship instead of the Chargers.

If you save the Chargers, then he becomes a Tal-Vashoth, although he keeps most of how he feels about it to himself with a few exceptions being

Of course, with him being an exile of the Qun, he has no reason to return and opts to stay with his kadan.

So yeah, you can be pragmatic about it and save the Dreadnought- although there are no really substantial benefits to keeping the alliance apart from war table missions fighting Venatori -, or you can save the Chargers - who will then unlock a few war table operations of their own if you talk to Krem. It kind of balances itself out.

EDIT:

Either option is neither wrong or correct, hell you get "Greatly Approves" either way. If you save the chargers you do get access to a few different lines in ONE scene compared to if you did not. Personally Iron Bull's romance isn't all touchy feely (if you want that go to Cullen), he is a distraction from your duties & the weight that you now have to bear. That isn't to diminish the romance in anyway it is just presented in a different way & I prefer this way the best since I don't need a lot of sugary sweetness.

Last time he had an identity crisis, he turned himself in willingly. Highly doubt they'd have to visit him again now that you've helped strengthen his ties and duty to the Qun. Or at the very least, he'd turn himself in. Nonetheless, he'll have the dragon tooth to remember the Quizzy by as consolation.

I just can't imagine that the Ben-Hassrath would be very fond of his ties to the Inquisitor or the idea that Iron Bull's loyalties might be split. I guess I just have a very cynical view on how they would treat him afterwards haha, so that is entirely my head canon. I just couldn't shake that feeling and much preferred the Chargers side of things because it feels like you have a better chance at a happily ever after with the big guy.

Well, actually caring for someone isn't forbidden in the Qun AFAWK, and he did prove himself by saving the dreadnought, so I'd think the Benn-Hassrath would not have much of a problem since he has proven his duty to the Qun. Plus the Quizzy earns the title of Basalit-an, so I definitely doubt they'd consider any ties to the Inquisitor to be a detriment since the Quizzy clearly places value in Qunari interests.

But yeah, unless the Inquisitor plans on converting or moving near there, etc., once the Inquisition is over, I doubt a "happy" ending in the sense one would imagine will take place. I saved the Chargers in my current playthrough but I'm a Vashoth who admires the Qun so I've been secretly sneaking it into the Inquisition with all the heraldry, etc. Even the judgment chair is the Arishok's. Sten would be proud.

If you're a Mage and you want the strongest staff schematic, you must sacrifice his chargers.
