I find it very annoying that you can get multiple "Greatly Approves" from Blackwall, Cassandra, and Bull by doing a quest for them (or in Bull's case, killing dragons). Meanwhile I'm here trying to find out how the hell to get on Sera's good side.

Cole is pretty easy, imo. Vivienne can be easy if you watch what you say (you can still be pro-free mages and have high approval with Vivienne), Dorian's easy, Solas is moderate (there's a ton of those orb things you can activate for his approval, whereas Sera only has a few caches).

Can we get big approval points for other companions, too? Because I've spent like, over two hours going out of my way to try and gain approval from Sera and it's annoying.

Sera loves killing dragons too. I take her on all my dragon kills and she's good at it anyway, if you use her right. That helps with her approval. Solas is easy too...he likes to talk about his time in the fade so when you get to Skyhold, keep asking him questions.

Once you get Sera to like you enough to do pranks with her, do them and that makes her like you also.

Your mistake is thinking Sera cares what you do; she's a hateful, vile creature who is impossible to please. :P

I thought for the most part the approval was done alright...might it just be that you and Sera fundamentally disagree on things? I know I had that problem with her ^.^ (I've yet to see her roof top conversation; I don't think I'm getting enough approval from her for it)

The bigger complaint is there nothing to make them disapprove of you more!

I only did Sera's war table missions and got enough approval for her friend cutscene (avoiding spoiler) to trigger.

Sera is a Grey Warden fangirl.  If you choose pro-Warden dialogue choices you will get her approval.  Letting the Wardens off the hook also gets a Great Approval from her IIRC.

Take her with you when you first visit the maps and you get the cutscene with Harding. Then proceed to flirt with Harding and you'll get a whopping "Sera approves".

Flirt with Scout Harding. Sera approves of that. <ninja'd> (also works for males btw)

Something I noticed is that whenever I made a decision that would gain me the most overall approval from my companions, Sera was typically disapproving in these instances. She's a tricky person to get high approval from if you're trying to be everybody's best friend.

Not hard. Just don't get mad at her when she screws up in her personal quest.

I found Sera to be pretty easy to please. I yielded a Greatly Disapproves from allying with the mages, but there's a lot of random things that gain her approval, though sometimes an option that yields the same result will net disapproval, in this case, if you have Solas speak for you. She approves of telling the elven girl in Crestwood NOT to join the Wardens, but disapproves if Solas is the one to speak for the Inquisitor. The same is true of the cultist elf mage in the Hinterlands if you tell him to return to his parents.

You can win almost everything back for Sera with proper judgements.

You don't even have to get all of those. I maxed out her approval, but made Alexius a researcher. She approves of sending the Avaar to Tevinter, executing Erimond, handing over the mayor of Crestwood to Ferelden and making Mistress Poulin use her ill-gotten money to rebuild the village.

Fixed for myself.

I actually had no issues with any companions approval except Vivienne and Cole.

Cole is actually pretty easy to please though ..kill everyone you meet.. such compassion..

Talking about Sera, if you understand her you can easily pick up the dialogue choices that give you approval points, do her war table missions and you should be fine.

The most difficult companion for me was Vivienne, then I started saying her pro-Circle things even if I was pro-Mage and she approved me without becoming Divine (in my PTs the Divine will always be Leliana :P).

Well even more than that I mean. Blackwall and Cassandra have quests that are solely for the purpose of spamming approval with them.

I am more mad that Sera isnt a male romance. Though approval is a bit of a pain in the ass.
Especially when i side with the mages.

Iron Bull doesn't even have a crisis scene!

What the actual **** Bioware? Are you even trying anymore!? I want to be able to call him out on his Iron Bull-****, but I'm pigeon holed into either being BFFs with him or never letting him join in the first place. And if I want to ruin Blackwall's life, I have to raise his approval to the point that he sees me as an inspiration first? That's the sound of my inner misanthrope softly crying into his pillow.

Recruit her once you've gotten to Skyhold. If you're going to have Alexius help the mages, then do that first since Sera won't approve, and THEN recruit her. That way you've gotten most of the bad stuff out of the way.

After that it's just the Wardens and Halamshiral depending on what you do, and her personal quest can cancel that out even if you don't let her do what she wants. You just have to tell her that she was right afterwards. Or you could recruit her after all that, but it's not necessary to do so. That's my solution with Sera; it's all about when you recruit her.

It makes me cry regardless.

With Sera I've found that if you don't actively antagonize her you can do whatever you want with main quest choices. Gets me cookies every time.
