This is kind of branching off from the "Why do you play human?" thread. I'm wondering what race or class people tend to play as or if maybe you just mix things up and don't a specific race or class that you lean toward.

For me, I seem to have a elven trend. I tried all the origin stories in Origins and I liked the city elf origin best. I just thought it was cool. In Inquisition I was elven again because I wanted to romance Solas and I felt the elven storyline fit with finding the temple of Mythal and such. I also seem to trend toward elven romances: Zevran, Fenris, Solas. Go figure. Wasn't something I planned for. Just kind of happened.

I don't have a favored class. I played as a rouge in Origins because that game seemed easier to play as a rouge PC. In DA2, I wanted to try a new class, and I didn't want to play with Carver, for warrior class it was. I played mage in Inquisition because I hadn't played that class yet. Don't know what I'll do for DA4...

What race/class do you play?

All of them. I have two Qunari, two humans, an elf and a dwarf. Two rogues, three mages and a warrior.

I always start with human female warrior. Next is usually mage elf with opposite decisions to mix it up and I just started my 3rd playthrough with qunari female rogue (since qunari are playable for the first time I have to try it  :) ).

If I do replays close together I always change up the class and race to make it more interesting. If I return to the game after a long time has passed I return to my favourite: human warrior.

With Mass effect I also finished the game with a male PC but with DA there are so many other choices I've never even started a male character in any DA game.

All of them eventually ... I'm on my 5th PT this time playing a Qunari warrior romancing Dorian. I have Human Rogue, Elf Mage, Dwarf Rogue, Qunari Mage, Qunari Warrior.

I play different races on repeated playthroughs... tend to stick to one class, though. But my cannon playthroughs are all elves... just because that's what happened.

I try to be diverse with my PCs. That said, I stopped making dwarves because I can't bring myself to make a character with a big nose. Also, dwarves suck for romances, because there are never any romance-capable characters that are dwarves, so you get stuck with weird animations to make a dwarf his their LI.

I really hope they make a dwarf romance, even if I don't romance them.

I always play at least one of each class, and always at least 1 of each gender.

Origins: Male elf warrior, female human mage, female elf rogue and female human warrior (excluding ones that didn't make it past Ostagar or the end of Origins).

II: Male human warrior, female human mage, male human rogue, female human rogue.

Inquisition: Male human warrior, female elf mage; and future characters: female qunari rogue and female human mage.

Hetero white human male rogue. So, really, the Devil himself.

I don't play dwarves either because of the weird love interest animations. Just takes me out of the story. If they made a dwarf love interest, though, I think I'd have to go for it.

I'd love for it to be Varric - though they probably won't put him in three games in a row - so then I could help him get over Bianca. I'd name my PC Helga and she'd be as sarcastic as possible.

I always start with a sword and board human warrior (champion). Pretty much how I start any fantasy setting rpg.

Now it's a 2H Qunari warrior (reaver). Not sure after the Qunari. Maybe a female elf mage or a female sword and board human (Templar)

I can't tell if your tongue is in your cheek when you say this, but I hope it is (and suspect it is).  Unfortunately, I've seen numerous "straight white guys" make comments like this and it's only serving to perpetuate that line of thinking.

I've played them all as mages or rogues... well except for dwarf. I tried and I couldn't stand the shortness... ugh

Anyway.

But I tend to lean more heavily towards humans. And prefer mages. But as it stands at the moment I have an equal number of humans and elves (All female except for one male that I romanced Dorian with)

Pro-Chantry human mage

Practical elf mage (was gonna do the Solasmance but didn't take)

"Too elfy" elf rogue

... I reeeeally want to do a Tal Vashoth playthrough but not with the hairstyles we have. That woulda been my first if the hairstyles had been decent, because I had a face design I loved :(

I generally go for mages because I enjoy protection/heal centered gameplay. Rogue is a nice change of pace. I will prolly do a "tank" playthrough next, since it's kinda protectiony.

No problem.

I think it's interesting that the most popular option is a female human mage (since everyone used to say it was going to be male human warrior or male human mage).  I also think it's interesting that humans, while the most popular race, lost some numbers since they were at 80% in DA: O, but are down around 60% with this data.  That being said, 6 of the 7 top combinations are the 6 human options.

I like to play as elves or humans, rogues or mages (though my canon PCs are all mages). I didn't play humans in Bioware games at all until DA2.

With DAI I've become interested in branching out further. My first PC was a qunari (abandoned that playthrough, couldn't connect with the character...may restart it again at some point); I'm interested in playing a dwarf to romance Blackwall (the Carta angle with a guy like Ranier interests me); to my great surprise I found playing as Iron Bull in battle to be fun (have never cared to play as a warrior before) so I'll probably roll a 2H warrior in the future; and, for the first time since an abandoned ranger in NWN, I'm interested in rolling a male character.

That is, of course, if I ever get passed playing my canon Quizzy, a Dalish First romancing Solas, over and over again.  ^_^

If you've seen any of my other comments in this realm, then it should be pretty clear.

Yes, it is.

I make that joke at every given opportunity.

Dwarf female rogue archer that rejected the chantry, as for why, don't know really but I guess its because its the same way I played my main DA:O warden.

I also feel absolutely zero need to be able to relate to the character via making him similar to myself as well, but perhaps I'm in the minority there.

Everything but male qunari (because I want the DA2 design--male qunari this time around look like burnt, 'roided humans) and female human (because: boring).

Straight female elf KE-mage (Cullen) *complete*

Straight female elf Tempest-archer (Solas) *bugged after patch, waiting to return*

Lesbian female elf Rift-mage (Josephine) *trying to design in CC*

Straight female qunari Champion-2H warrior (Blackwall) *playing currently since bugged game*

Gay male human Assassin-DWD rogue (Dorian) *Ser Sheldon Willoughby Trevelyan VIII is making his way into Dorian's arms*

Gay male dwarf Reaver-2H warrior (IB) *planned*

Lesbian female dwarf Templar-S&S warrior (Sera) *planned*

No Cassie romance...probably ever since I'm on XBone and can't get mods.

Female Elf Rogue (Daggers)

Female Human Rogue (Bow)

Male Human Warrior (S & S)

Female Elf Warrior (S & S)

This 4th one is going to be my last until the patch and/or DLC is out.  I'll probably play a Dwarf and a Qunari then.

DAO: Female Dalish dw rogue.

DA2: Female human noble dw rogue. (Only because I had to.)

DAI: Female Dalish dw rogue.

I'm noticing a trend here..

Blame the numerous members of "oppressed minority groups" for making heterosexual white males into the internet's most-feared boogeyman.  ;)

Anyway, I always lean towards humans.  My first Trevelyan was a Necromancer whose power I could not taste in the fullest due to unlocking specializations so late in the game.  I want to try out a Rift Mage in my next PT since their powers are quite fun and the description appeals to me.  Reaver is the only warrior specialization I have any interest in trying out since dragon blood magic sounds quite brilliant.

I am also considering creating a female Tal-Vashoth Tempest who falls in love with Iron Bull (With all his banter & kinks  ) and completely ruins his life.

Just for the record, I've done:

male qunari warrior (2-handed)

male dwarf rogue (dual wield)

female dwarf rogue (ranged)

And I've got two waiting in the wings:

female dwarf warrior (s&s)

male qunari mage

I really do feel like they sabotaged qunari chances with the lack of customization options. Maybe that's just my personal beef talking, though >.>; They're still female, dangit, I want hair like in the concept art.

EDIT: And dwarves, because every time I try one I give up with the animation weirdness in cutscenes.

I played a elf rogue (probably main character)

Elf mage

Human rogue

Human warrior

Qunari warrior

Qunari rogue

All females, if anybody cares about that.
