Minor bug : stuck on loading screen in Champions of the Just

I have been able to trigger a bug within the Great Hall area of Champions of the Just. If you try to leave the Great Hall via the upper-level barracks door between killing the last enemy and talking with Ser Barris, the following can happen :

  1. The screen fades out to the 'black' loading screen
  2. The game autosave occurs (at the same time as step 1)
  3. The conversation with Ser Barris triggers and plays
  4. The loading screen stays up

In order to continue, you must kill the process and restart the game. You can continue exactly where you left off - the autosave is valid, but interestingly, it saves with you having talked to Ser Barris.

 

I have been able to trigger this bug twice, but it's fairly hard to trigger. After it occured, I decided to try to trigger it again - it took seven more tries. I have not tried to trigger the bug by leaving through a lower-level door, or by the upper-level officer's quarters door. I am running the patch 5 beta (on PC, obviously). I have not attempted to transfer the saved game to the release build of the game to reproduce the error.

(Forgive me if something in this does not make sense - I'm watching Liverpool-Man City while typing and this game is intense. Also, Coutinho is the sickness AND AGUERO JUST WENT CLOSE JESUS CHRIST ok backing out to watch the game)

Yep had something similar happening too and some other people have noticed it too and not only after the conversation, it also happens when you try to get into the Hall.

 

What worked for me is saving before hitting the door trigger, this however has not worked for others.

I think this is a bug that if you just wait long enough it will correct itself.

The door trigger is.. odd. Sometimes you can open the trigger on the other side of the door, causing you to go where you already are and that confuses the game. If you wait long enough, you end up where you were. (and long is really long. I have a rather fast computer and I don't have long loading times, but this can take minutes)

Can happen in Halamshiral too. Can be prevented by moving to the door slowly so you won't come close enough to trigger from the wrong side.

It's an odd bug. Also not entirely sure if it's the same bug. Does the sound keep going on in the background?

The key is to make sure when you click on the door, the name beside it indicates the room you are going into and not the room you are leaving.  If you're in the Great Hall and go to leave and the marker says Great Hall, do not click.  Move around until you see Officer's Quarters or whatever and then click and you should be fine (unless it does what it did to me once and switch back to Great Hall right as I clicked).  Same thing for WInter Palace, don't click Grand Ballroom if you're in the Grand Ballroom, move until it says Vestibule.
