I'm considering skimping a bit on Magic early on with my new mage in order to raise Cunning. Intelligence and efficient resource management fit the character better than an abundance of raw magical power, and I really want those hidden dialogue options(NOT persuade checks) that only appear around Cunning 25-30.
Problem is, I'm playing on Nightmare with an already suboptimal build that favors crowd control over damage, focusing on force fields, glyphs and later Mana Clash trees with only very bare-bones attack spells, with some basic utility spells and mabe some Entropy and lightning thrown in eventually.
Will foregoing around 20 Magic early on to boost Cunning hurt me terribly? I realize that this will delay me in learning third and fourth-tier spells, and that you can receive 5 extra points of cunning in the fade, but I really want to be able to take those dialogue options at Ostagar. Come Awakening, I'll retrain and move those points back into Magic.
