It's not your English, you generally don't understand what a phenotype is, I think.
You see it as something independant of genetics, but it's completely dependant on genetics. It's just the expression of. You can have genes that aren't expressed, but that doesn't make something a phenotype. There's always a phenotype.
no i just didn't expressed what i wanted to say clearly, sometimes I do mix the terms especially when these terms mean different things in different languages but are essentially the same like "sympathy" "empathy" for instance. English uses "empathy" where I would typically use "sympathy". In English phenotype is technical term, but not to me when i use it literally.
At any rate I rather to know what is the proper word.
Could be worse I suppose, he could be demony and scaly like Alistair feared... which is another reason I wish they'd not cut that dialogue.
The fact that Kieran looks the same regardless of who fathered him - the Warden, Loghain or Alistair - should tell you something.
*nods*
Hellmouth.
If Morrigan's features are dominant, how come a white-haired Warden, and the black-haired Morrigan, have a son who has dark red hair?
Kieran should definitely have been customisable. The important bits are the skin colour, hair colour and eye colour. Everything else is optional for customisation.

Fair enough.
Well seems that Milkman dropped by and said to Morrigan hi ![]()

My only concern is that Kieran actually looks like he's Loghain's son. It's a little weird having him be Alistair's kid because to me he still looks like Loghain more than he looks like his mother Morrigan. i do agree that Kieran should definitely have been custom made by the player if your warden was the father. The important bits are the skin colour, hair colour and eye colour. Everything else is optional for customization. but once the face mods come rolling in for this game, Morrigan's son will definitely look more like his father Alistair. You can be sure on that. ![]()

You can probably mod him if it is that important to you to deviate from the story the game authors wanted to tell.

Sorry to break your immersion, dude, but Kieran's appearance doesn't affect the story. It's purely aesthetics.

Oh please... most of the NPC in this game are so ugly looking which is why i prefer to mod the heads to match who they are and not have them look like deformed freaks just like i did in DA 1 and 2. So you on the other hand don't HAVE to use the mods if you don't want to but don't tell me what i do deviates from the story the game authors wanted to tell cause i couldn't careless about it.

Well said

I think it certainly would have been a NEAT feature if the game took into account the traits of Kieran's father, but I don't necessarily think he should be customisable. Who knows what impact magic of varying types have on the physical features of children in this universe.
We're talking about a universe where there are semi-sentient zombies who can corrupt and then be commanded by gods, who look like dragons. And magic is actually some kind of living force which both permeates life and can be manipulated by living things too. Keeping in mind that Kieran might have been a three-parent child (Warden/Morrigan/Old God), I think the fact that there is one consistent version of him is more down to convenience.
So...magic.

So... you do mod things, but you don't want to mod Kieran because reasons even though that would probably satisfy your complaint about his appearance?
Doesn't seem unusual to me he looks the way he does. It would be silly if we had to go through a character creator 2-3 times a game.
And lucky for me, his appearance totally jives with what I imagine my Warden and Morrigan's child would look like.

Either you have a reading problem or you are just trolling for laughs...
Where did i say i didn't want to mod Kieran?

Well apologies, then. I took your reply to my suggestion that you could mod him as basically you saying "No, I don't want to mod him" since you didn't seem to happy with my suggestion. I assumed you were not happy given that your post in reply to my suggestion started out with "Oh please...blah blah." However, it seems that was not the case, so sure, okay, reading comprehension failure on my part. Sorry.
To be honest, I just think the whole thing is a bit silly. You guys find things to pick apart about the game that are just, imho, frelling ridiculous to even bring up.

Genetics. My hair is a natural black and brown with hints of red here and there. I carry genes for black and brown hair(of course) but also blonde and red.
There's a possibility I could father a blonde haired son or daughter even if my partner is also of dark hair. Same for a redheaded son or daughter. Is it really that out there? I don't think so. Its dependent on genes.
Its also possible I have a child with blue or green eyes given my genetics, even though my eyes are brown. I could father a child that has elements descended from me but are vastly different to how I appear. I don't see why this should be different in Thedas.

As is said, you don't HAVE to use the mods if you don't want to but don't tell me what i do deviates from the story the game authors wanted to tell cause i couldn't careless about it. Everyone has their own preference when it come to mods.

"Everyone has their own preference when it come to mods." Exactly! Which is why I reasonably suggested that perhaps you could just mod Kieran to fit the image you wanted of him. A suggestion you went all "oh please" over. Really still not getting why you got pissy about that suggestion, but whatever.

Excuse me? You're the one who said, "You can probably mod him if it is that important to you to deviate from the story the game authors wanted to tell." that annoyed me...
of course i want to mod that boy's head to make him look like his father Alistair.
