I was actually thinking about doing an XCOM LP once I get some things in my life situated here soon. I already have a lot of hours into it so hopefully no one will die. Well, as long as I don't put Sim in there. But then again, Rah would be disappoint.

 

You guys have fun fighting faks while Recon rants about his "unlove" for ponies and I drink myself into oblivion.

Am I severely wasted or are Dom and I dead? I haven't seen us even on the roster on the screenshot in a while - did I miss an update?

 

EDIT: NVM, I went and found it - we are still alive. And apparently both Level 3? How did we get ahead of the likes of Johnnie Walker and mybudgee?

Xenonauts is a remake of the original X-COM, though. They've got a lot in common and a common ancestry but it's still quite different and a separate project entirely from XCOM:EU/EW.
 

Walker and Recon started drinking together, discussing the goings-on of their respective parties.


"Sim, that sick fak was able to purge all those Heretic shrines in the Weald. But he wouldn't let me set up new shrines to Best Pony, or let me share the Nightmare Moon Crotch Cake I had baked when we were camping out. I hate him."

 

"Of course! She probably complained about 'Hag-shaming' on her tumblr blog as she ate OWA. God I hate them. If I get elected as President, the first thing I will do is kill all those Hag SJWs out there. Pre-emptive strike."

Having cleared the room, Rah, fascinated by death as always, quickly opens the Coffin to see what lies inside. Unfortunately, all he finds are old bones. Nothing out of the ordinary.

"You Cultists sicken me. THOSE WHO CONSORT WITH XENOS SHALL FEEL MY LONG AND SHARPENED BLADE!"


"We are doing the God-Emperor's work here. I am proud that I can whip out my blade and defile the flesh of Xenos sympathisers."

Chapter 20:

"You want to cleanse the Altars in the Ruins too? Why not just go after the Necromancer?"


"EP's been haunting my dreams. I can't take it anymore. The Altars give the Necromancer power, and we need to break that. But also, it may be causing all the visions and dreams I've been having lately by giving EP a connection to the mortal plane. I know I've made mistakes. But I'm doing my best, and I don't need EP in my ear every night telling me that I'm a dead man."
 

"Well, you haven't lead us to our deaths. Yet."
 

"True, and it's not like that would stop Jimmy or myself, anyway."
 

"Huh?"
 

"N-nothing. So Sim, you were talking about cleansing Altars?"
 

"Yes! Come with me, Purify the Necromancer's Altars in the Ruins and get one step closer to saving the BSN from Zombie T! And shutting up EP. Hopefully."
 
The group collectively shrug. Their last expedition was a success. Sort of. And Sim's new focus on stopping Zombie T gave the Leper an air of legitimacy in leadership that he did not have before. So Recon, Jimmy and Dom had no issues following Sim into the Ruins.



The Lobbyists soon find themselves in a dark library. But they don't find themselves alone.



The Skeletons attack first, with the Bone Noble throwing his toxic cup straight at Dominus. The Occultist is caught off-guard and suffers a critical hit, increasing his stress levels.



However Recon soon takes care of the Noble with a powerful attack of his own.




"Thanks, Recon. So did you dedicate the attack to your lifesize Luna plushie like last time?"


"Tch, I save you and all I get as thanks is your >implying? Besides I don't own a lifesize Luna plushie. Or any of those horrible ponies. None of them make a slapping noise when I spank the buttocks hard enough."


"RECON!"


"What?! I just told you sick faks that I don't own any pony plushies! Stop >projecting and focus on the battle!"

Unfortunately for Sim, it was too late. His focus on the fight had already been broken, leaving him wide open for an enemy attack.



While Dom uses his Wyrd Reconstruction spells to heal Sim's wounds, Fast Jimmy quietly springs into action. The nimble and focused Bounty Hunter takes out the Skeletons with ease.



Recon himself finishes the battle with a deadly finishing blow. Undoubtedly releasing some pent up anger, and relieving his stress levels in the process.



With the battle over, Recon finds their first corrupted Altar. A gorgeous sculpture made of obsidian stone, the Crusader promptly takes out one of their Holy Water bottles and pours it's contents all over the magnificent black rock. The Altar fizzles before finally calming down, gleaming in the torch light. One down, two to go.




"If only you could fix everything Obsidian-made just by splashing some water on it..."

The Lobbyists continue their search for the Altars, finding mostly traps instead.





Recon seemed to trigger most of the traps and was clearly the most annoyed by the time the Lobbyists reach the next room. Fortunately, they manage to catch their foes by surprise.



Allowing Recon to take full advantage.



However, as the Crusader charges the Skeletons, the largest one catches him off-balance, striking Recon down with a powerful blow.



Recon stumbles over and struggles to get up.



The Lobbyists quickly shuffle him back in the formation and give him the time to recover. Meanwhile Jimmy makes his way to the front and attacks the giant Skeleton head-on.



With some help from Sim, the Occultist and Bounty Hunter pair bring the big guy down. Dominus getting the kill shot.

Not willing to take the kinds of risks he did before, Sim decides it best for the group to make camp. They're stocked to the brim with supplies, and make a feast of it.



As Recon and the others recuperate, Sim is optimistic about their expedition.




"I almost died back there, you call this expedition the easiest you've ever had?"


"The key word in what you just said is almost, Recon. You almost died. So, yes. I stand by my words."

And perhaps he had reason to stand by them, the Leper was less impulsive about his leadership than in the past. That caution had perhaps saved Recon's life already. The team soon finish their meals and head back to work.



Re-energised by the break, they stroll briskly in the Ruins, catching their next group of enemies by surprise.




"The ride never ends."

The weaker Skeletons are brittle and fall away quickly, however the larger one presents a problem to the team.

Charging at the Lobbyists' formation, he unleashes a fearsome thunderclap attack. Luckily, the group easily avoids it.



Without losing a step, Fast Jimmy retaliates, taking out the Skeleton for good.



They finish the battle and continue their journey, finding the next Altar in the hallway.



Having explored all the rooms in the area, the Lobbyists come to the realisation that they've missed the final Altar. Back tracking, they search everywhere. With the team having explored most of the pathways, they hasten their search before they lose what little light they have.


"Just my luck."

Just Sim's luck, indeed. As they make their way to the area where the final Altar is located, they're ambushed.



Moving quickly to avoid getting flanked, Dominus showcases a brand new ability, catching everyone by surprise.




"I hope you liked my MLP Starter Pack, Skeletons."

Recon shudders. What merciless evil.

The team easily dispatch of their foes from that point. However, Dominus' ability greatly un-nerved the Lobbyists and the feeling of dread is exacerbated by the growing darkness.

Before Recon hits panic stations, Sim finds an unused Torch.



As Sim illuminates their path, the collective willpower of the team grows and their ability to navigate the Ruins is boosted.



With the torches burning brightly, Jimmy handles the many Traps in their way with ease.



And before too long, they finally find that final Altar.



Breathing a sigh of relief, Sim purifies the Altar before turning back to the team.




"I couldn't have done it without all of you. Thanks. And congratulations, guys. Mission accomplished!"

Exchanging handshakes, high fives and happy smiles, the Lobbyists return back to town slightly worse for wear. But completely and utterly victorious.

Sorry for the delay, have been dealing with a few issues, related to both the game and outside of it. I'll try to have daily updates to this but I can't guarantee it. Thanks for being patient.
