I laughed when I wrote the joke, but it was a nervous laugh.

Chapter 21:

After taking a short break, Sim leads the Lobbyists back into the Ruins.


"It's time. The Necromancer will have noticed that we have destroyed his Altars. We have to strike hard while he's weakened. We need to-"


"Stop the resurrection of Zombie T, blah blah blah. We've heard this all before, you sick fak."

Despite Recon's mockery, he and the others follow Sim's lead back into the Ruins.



Walking at a fast pace, they manage to surprise their first enemies.



Dominus pulls out his giant .RAR files, and throws them at the Bone Noble and Arbalest.




"Once this is all over, you are next. Those MLP Starter Packs are pure evil."

Dominus shrugs.

The Bone Noble strikes back at the Lobbyists, splashing Fast Jimmy with the contents of his tainted Goblet.



However, the Skeletons soon fall to Sim's mighty blade.


 
The team don't dwell on their victory too long, there's still more rooms to explore and the less time spent exploring, the better.



Upon entering the room, they encounter another group of vicious enemies.



The Gargoyles strike first, slashing and clawing away at Sim and Recon.



They're also quick enough to avoid Recon's counter attack thrust.



However, not nimble enough to avoid Jimmy's Hand-Axe.



An angry Recon strikes back on their enemies, hard. His vicious attack leaves no survivors.



The Lobbyists continue their hard slog and progress through the rooms in this labyrinth with ease.



They walk cautiously into another room.



And catch yet another collection of Skeletons off-guard.



Jimmy moves quickly and takes out one of the lesser minions.




"Pillars is unlocking soon, we need to hurry up here!"

Unfortunately, Jimmy's eagerness to finish the fight leaves him wide open and he takes a powerfully direct attack.



The Lobbyists fight a long and tiring battle, the largest Skeleton giving them the most problems.




"Ugh. He's a big guy."

However, he's no match for Sim. The Leper dispatches him with a well timed slice.


 
With the room clear, and most of the Ruins explored, Sim decides to camp out.




"We're getting a little worn down from this, especially you Recon. And I want us all at full strength when we face the Necromancer."


"I suppose that makes sense, but why are you so conservative with camping out now?"


"I've realised that perhaps it's my over-eagerness to get the job done which has resulted in the many casualties that's happened on my watch. I am haunted by EP every night who reminds me of them. But I remind myself of them too. Preventing Zombie T's revival in the mortal plane will allow their souls to be at peace. But, for me... for my soul to be at peace, I have to do it all without losing another party member. I've sworn to myself that I'll keep you safe. And if that means being more cautious in dungeons, spending a little more gold on supplies, then so be it."


"You're a good guy, Sim. I don't know why people give you so much flak. Dominus and I have had really good luck following you around. Not a single casualty. Maybe we're just better than your old team. Haha! ... no? Okay."

Wrapping up their meals and resting time, the Lobbyists extinguish the camp fire and make their final run to the Necromancer.



Recon however, gets distracted by an Iron Maiden in their path.




"This looks just like the one in Molestia's sex dungeon, I must get a closer look. F-for research on how to use it to kill Molestia of course, nothing improper here you sick faks."


"Recon! No!"

Sim's cries fell on deaf ears and Recon "closely inspected" the device. Unsurprisingly, he didn't come out of it unscathed.



With Recon having trouble opening and closing his mouth properly, Sim considered heading back to town. But, they were this far along. And despite the Leper's "conservative" outlook, they had made too much progress to simply turn back. He leads his men into the final room.



And find the Necromancer waiting for them.



Sim takes a short moment to focus, before declaring his intentions to the Necromancer.


"We will not let you revive Zombie T!"

The Necromancer strikes first, unleashing a dark ability that demoralises the team.



He then follows up with a terrible revival spell, the nearby corpses spring to life, attacking Dominus and Jimmy before taking their place on the battlefield.



The Master of the Dark Arts then moves on Sim and Recon, attacking them vigourously.



With the Lobbyists being pushed back, Sim rallies.


"The power of one man doesn’t amount to much. But, however little strength I’m capable of… I’ll do everything humanly possible to protect the people I love!"



With plenty of fight still left in the team, they begin their counter attack. Recon strikes hard.



Jimmy follows.



Taking a step back, the Necromancer summons another cadaver to his side. However, neither of them are prepared for Sim's furious attack.



The Necromancer stumbles over and the realisation hits the Lobbyists that they can really win this. Emboldened by their success, Recon goes in for another strike.




"Bow before Luna and lick Her Majesty's Royal Hooves or perish, monster!"

With the Necromancer barely able to defend itself, it's Jimmy that gets the kill shot. He swings his Hand-Axe hard, planting it right in the Necromancer's neck. Taking it down once and for all.




"We actually did it. Impressive. Now I can get back to Bloodborne."

Sim laughs heartily. They had taken down the Necromancer. They actually did it. The Lobbyists were all smiles as they make their way back to town. They accomplished some real good today, and they did it comfortably, without losing anyone.

For the astute, yes the Necromancer boss fight screenies were different to the rest of the dungeon. One of the reasons I didn't update chapters recently was because I had accidentally deleted screenshots of the original Necromancer boss fight, and had to use an old save to catch up and take new screenies. They both won without casualties regardless so it's all good but the second battle went much more smoothly than the first.
