Hello
I presume, at some point, a remaster will be on the cards for the trilogy. My suggestion, is for Thane. Now bear with me!
Ok, so firstly, almost every character in ME3 can be saved/killed if certain conditions are not met. Why should Thane be any different? I propose this; if thane was unloyal and survived the suicide mission all events transpire as it is, he fights kai leng, gets skewered and dies. Agreed? Here is what I suggest for a loyal/romanced thane.
Now, in the dossiers in the shadow brokers layer, doctor chackwas states that thane was eligible for a lung transplant but refused. This being that he was in his battle-sleep and had nothing else to live for. By the end of ME2 he had found his son, was in love with Shepherd and clearly didn't want to die/had something to live and fight for.
The easiest way I can think of that makes sense with the story and involves as little work to the team is this; loyal/loved thane still fights Kai leng, still gets skewered. At that point the doctor says that he's lost a lot of blood blah blah, oh look we have another drell! Kolyat?! Fancy meeting you here! He gives blood transfusion as per the existing story. He can even still give his blessing with his son. Instead of dying he passes out, Kolyat can make some comment like, he needs to rest/is tired something to that effect. Shepherd can continue with the mission.
Cue citadel DLC, if thane dies, the funeral scene plays out. If he lives, Kolyat can still give the videos as he was looking through his dad's stuff. On the viewing of the last video/or love video, Thane appears in a wheelchair/crutches etc. Shepherd can kiss him or shake his hand if unromanced. He says whilst in surgery he got the lung transplant. It hasn't cured him but gave him and extension on his life for another 10 or so years (see, no space magic here!) This scene could even replace the citadel end love scene with Love interest. And that's it, till the end of the game where he can pop up in the extended ending.
In conclusion, you are talking a couple of extra scenes tops, not much more in extra lines. These few tweaks would mean the world/Galaxy for the people out there who liked thane and even more for those who romanced him. I think the only ones out there more short changed than us was the Jacob romancers. But at least he lived! I love bioware and I love the romances, both in mass effect and dragon age (fenris /iron bull) that even after all these years, I can still shed a little tear for Thane, legion and Mordin. And I bet I'm not the only one.

There is no need to remaster anything.
Just play it on PC.
What's needed is an integral release with all DLC packed with the game (missionDLC not rubbish items).

I don't play PC unfortunatly. Remasters are a huge money maker for next gen people who want to play their favorite games. At the very least I agree with the integral release with dlc
