RS1 was a module. It (along with the 2 Conan modules CB1 & CB2) was released around the time of the Arnie movie(s).

Crom...
...I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it.
No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad.
Why we fought or why we died.

No.
All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important.
Valor pleases you, Crom, so grant me one request.
Grant me revenge.
And if you do not listen, then to hell with you.

And that Hyena Lord in the Hyborian inspirations thread... well... I'm not promising ANYTHING, but... well, you know, Hyenas and everything...

Shem; why do you keep putting up lists, lists with pictures in them, pictures of interesting creatures, and thus forcing me to hit stuff with bricks?

I've only just returned and there's this obvious bait of images of Monster Hyborian Hyenas... Hyenas! Can't NOT do the Obvious Hyenas, can I?

HyenaL01.jpg

Being socking great Fantasy Hyenas, I decided to make the Hyena Lord's hackle ridge nice and spiny and add extra-sharp claws, things like that, just to make them look more vicious. I like to have variation in my Creatures, especially anything that hunts in packs, so there are two versions of the Hyena Lord, a dark one and a light one - as you can see, so I don't know why I'm dribbling unnecessarily here... The dark one somehow seems to give the impression of being dominant, but maybe that's just me. Either version's lethal...

HyenaL02.jpg

Apparently they don't mind cute girls though... Just thought I'd give a better idea of the Hyena Lords' scale to a human.

I suppose, you know, it being Hyenas and everything, I'll have to do the Hyena Man from the list too. Can't have too many Hyenas in NWN.

And that sabana tile-set, and the lion corpse placeable. Are quite interesting too...

Stupendous hyenas!  See that gleam in her eye?  It's from the fact that these are her pets.

Great stuff so far. However, still no Conan, still no Red Sonja and there's a small matter of no humongous snake from the movies yet...

BTW Is it just me or is that girl in the last pic saying "They're behind me, aren't they?

What? Now they're walking upright?!

Hyenaman.jpg

As promised, here's the Hyenaman - the Cursed of Jamankh... A bit of a waste of time really 'cause there are already the Gnoll, but the description on the list said "hunched" so I just figured I'd see whether a Gnoll/Minotaur hybrid would work. I've given him some ritual scars like it says they have, not that they actually show up very well. All in all, it's not a very good model really, a bit rubbish in fact, but since I conducted the experiment and made him, I'll chuck him in with the Hyena Lords.

Shem:- The Savannah Tileset is just the old "Drylands" Rural reskin that's been around for millions of years. Except I added Baobabs and Big Rocks. The Baobabs were to be found growing all over the plains of Dantooine in KotOR so I cut them out along the dotted lines and have turned them into NWN Placeables - see ongoing idiocy in PHoD Things thread.

The half-eaten Lion Placeables - I'm a Hyena, what do you expect? - are part of a series I've done. There're dead Bears and stuff too. You can see the half-eaten (chestburst?) Cow Placeable in the picture of the Alien3 Alien over in my Alien thread...) Mutilated and eaten Animal and Human corpses will be amongst some assorted stuff I'll be posting on the Vault in the next couple of weeks... No, no, I know what you're thinking - SOME of it is nice stuff. I don't ONLY do Blood and Mayhem.

Am liking that savannah tileset.  Is the temple in the background part of the set, or is it a skybox?  Rubbish, eh?  Does anyone here think the above bad ass standing hyena is rubbish?  She looks fine to me--and really, does anyone stop and examine the fine details of the 400lb 8 foot tall toothy wild eyed sword wielding friggin' hyena when she's trying to slice you adventurer nuggets to take home to the kiddies?  Don't look at it!  Kill it!  Our players have actually had this conversation with one party member several times because she just loves to examine the new critters.  "Yes, I know it's a new and really well done armored troll.  Did you also notice that it killed our healer and argur ghaaahhhh...."

Regret to inform you that you're entire party died because your mage stopped to examine the trolls!  Do you want to reload, respawn, or quit?  You know, I should blame the modders that are just too good at this.  It's like a sirens song, luring us in with eye candy, seducing us with finely crafted models, and lovely textures until...BAMM...our party becomes a buffet of tasty adventure bits.

3Ravens... As Mecheon suspected - the Temple thing is a Placeable I did using some new geometry of my own along with bits of one of the buildings in Chandigar's Aztec Tileset. You can't really see most of it as it's pointing away from the foreground...

Great work Shemsu-Heru, Tarot Redhand and PHoD!

Right, here's my first (ever!) released placeable:

iXEPtYv.jpg

I thought it might look good with some sort of banner, so made a second version:

zIK8457.jpg

A banner displaying a two-headed snake, with another two-headed snake lovingly carved above it! Perfect for professing your love of the evil serpent cult, though unfortunately not quite as handy as the first one is for pole dancing...

Amazing work! GunnersaurusRex; Maybe they are too big, a part from that, Great!

Have you considered, to make it, also, as torch models, with a lower scale. They could be great wearable war-banners? And that won't implies too much work...

Thanks, any way for contributing with the challenge!

Yeah, at the moment they're a bit too big to carry off to battle – more for planting in the ground to keep those little Conans off your lawn.

A torch/holdable banner is a good idea – I'll have to shrink down the snakes a bit or the poor standard bearer will be constantly toppling over in the middle of battle. Which is not good for anyone's morale. So far the only things I've made have been placeables but will hopefully not take me too long to figure out how to do a torch.

Before that though, I'm going to try and simplify the shadow geometry on those things as they're a little glitchy at the moment when viewed from the wrong angle. And to read some tutorials on how danglymesh works so I can get the banner to flap about a bit.

Thanks for the holdable version. I think that, it would looks better in a smaller scale for the whole banner. However I appreciate your effort anyway...
