Unreal Engine 4 is now free.

Well, Epic is moving from a $19.00 per month subscription model to making Unreal Engine 4 free to download. Epic will only take a 5% royalty on gross revenue after the first $3,000 per product, per quarter. Also, updates are free as well.

I have been modding games since the Doom and Quake days, having full access to a game engine on part with the Unreal Engine has always been a dream of mine. So for me this is exciting news. It also, gives more small studio's a chance to make AAA quality games. Heck, something like this could breath new life into the dying video game middle market.
