One thing I will say that I hate about social media is the ungodly number of attention wh0res it attracts. Dying to be the center of it all because they probably actually have self esteem issues. And anytime they see someone pretty or cool, they automatically see them as a threat thus thinking of no one but themselves. In my experience, attention whores turn out to care nothing for friendships online. Until people start seeing right through the facade, but not everyone will because you always got some thirsty white knights about. But no one really needs them after all, their diminutive social scene is just a hate vaccine tbh.

Everything in moderation, I suppose. Facebooks and the rest go bit too far for me or maybe it is just the users. They essentially become contests over popularity or "who's life looks the most interesting". Would delete my FB account, if it wasn't my main way of keeping in touch with rest of the family.

Everyone projects and image of themselves, at work, with friends, online, how they dress - everyone does it. Literally. It isn't anything to be sad about, it is part of the human condition.

I'm going to take a guess. Is it because romantic relationships exist to fill the needs of both people. Both partners use each other to fill social needs.

It takes him a while to answer because he is typing up an essay as an explanation as usual haha and with tons of references too!

Hmmm.... I'll add to this then but I'll leave out calling anyone a "wh0re" since it's not my place to judge or call someone that.

I'm not calling them a "wh0re" I'm calling them an "attention wh0re". Just like when I call someone an assh0le, I'm not calling them an ass. ;D

And I wasn't really calling anyone that. Just simply stating that they exist.

 

Life is a subjective experience and that cannot be escaped.
Every experience you have, comes through your own, personal, unsharable viewpoint. There can be no peer reviews of your direct experience, no real corroboration.
This has some major implications for how you live your life. The most immediate one is that you realize you must trust your own personal experience, because nobody else has your angle, and you only have that angle.
Another is that you feel more wonder for the world around you, knowing that any "objective" understanding you claim to have of the world is built entirely from scratch, by you.
What you do is built depends on the books you've read, the people you've met, and the experiences you've had.
It means you will never see the world quite like anyone else, which means you will never live in quite the same world as anyone else.

Thus my post was just my point of view and wasn't talking directly to anyone.

 

So to add to this, there are also those people who act all dark, needy and tough, you know almost bully like or bully wanabe lol, that's the internet for ya, but I bet if you met them in real life they would be nothing but little girls/boys who couldn't do **** hahaha.

After having met 7 people from BSN irl, this statement couldn't be anymore false.

 

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the internet/social media is a strange strange place and there is more to the eye/screen than you'd think or WANT to think/see(?) Hell I'm just blabbering. But social media can also be a good thing, ten 15 years ago we had nothing in this area, THAT was boring, NOW we at least get some entertaining

There is always more to the eye than what people are looking for. Just take most modern feminist for example, they will find any reason for a male to be sexist. If all a woman posts is just photos of herself and whining that she is just so ugly, then all I'm going to see is someone who really just wants showers of compliments and attention until said person proves otherwise.

 

Ofc social media can be a good thing, I stated as much on my first post on this thread.

You said you wouldn't call anyone that and I just said that I wouldn't either. Just in my own words. Don't read so deep into it, love. You didn't offend me, the internet is incapable of that with me tbh. I just don't take it seriously.

 

And I understand that, thus I was also giving my opinion and perspective on the subject matter as well. Don't know about you but I enjoy learning people's experiences and perception. Because only a fool thinks he knows everything, the wise know they don't know everything. Thus I like to increase my acumen via people, places, books etc.
