Aside from the lore-breaking amount of non-red templar humans (supposedly most humans have left the Dales due to the civil war) it is my favorite zone. So much green! I just love forests
Though it's a depressing place too, when you read all the writings. Wish i could wreck the exalted march memorials there.
Lady Lavellan certainly enjoyed her time there, bare feet and all. There might have been some frolicking involved.

The Emerald Graves was my favourite region too! I just love how it looks so verdant and lush. And there's a lot of elven history all around, and ruins. Also, the haunted mansion was definitely one of the best sidequests for me.

Emerald Graves is my favorite, too! So lush and verdant, teeming with life, plus the history. And by far the most gorgeous dragon of them all!
My only disappointment is that I feel like Varric: "There's a story here and I don't know what it is. That bothers me more than it should." I SO want to know the story behind all the art painted everywhere, the statues, the odd rock formations, and most of all, why is everything here GIGANTIC?
There's a tiny fairy door??? How did I miss this? Can someone post a picture, or a map location? I'd love to see it!

I too missed the fairy door. I thought I'd combed every inch of that place. ![]()

I love it. Found this cave in my last playthrough

Oh, I found that on my last playthrough, too! Another thing I wish I knew the story behind. Who went on the bear killing rampage? Why? I really kinda can't blame them, though, because wow, SO MANY BEARS in this game ![]()

There's so much stuff in this game that's like "you found it! Quest complete!" And I'm like "Wait. What? You're not going to explain what the heck this is?"

I know, right? So many things. The "Parson's Battered Notebook" quest in the Graves is like that.

That's so sad. I'm about to go do some wandering in the Emerald Graves with Solas (whom I'm romancing), Blackwall and Cole. I'll have to listen for this,

This fills me with grim satisfaction.
I wish I could display the heads of all the evil bears I had to slaughter on Skyhold's walls, plaster the floors with their fur and build a throne with their bones.

I discovered on my second playthrough that all the bottles from the "Bottles of Thedas" quest end up on shelves behind the kitchen area. It'd be nice if there were a few more personal touches like that.

Too bad the reward for that quest is so worthless.

Yeah. Which makes me wonder all the more about why they put it in there and what the back story is. A lot of people miss out on that quest completely because they think the notebook is flavor text, so it's kind of like an easter egg. So for it to end that way with no explanation or remarkable reward seems odd.

I loved it except for 2 small things. Trolls and spiders. I learned the hard way that releasing someone's ashes can mean death by a Great Bear, Troll AND Dragon, and when trying to find a missing person, a lovely picnic was ruined by a giant spider flying at me from a cliff above. Other than that, I love it and the villa!

A fairy door? Is it the cute nug-sized cave with the teeny tiny signpost and the bluebells? Don't have a screenshot, sadly. I'm gonna make one, if I find it again.

Ok, ok. You all talk about how pretty it is (it's my fav area too, so I'm not really complaining...), but no one mentioned music. I mean, come on. I tend to just go there and listen (I ended up under Giant's feet once... or twice because I got distracted).
And Chateau d'Onterre mission was wonderful ouo
