Illa also known as "The Black Rose of Omega" is an unknown female race for most people. She masters the art of Stealth and Assassination. She also joins a few mercenary groups in Omega such as Eclipse and Blue Suns. The mercenary group she joins to see her as a great asset in the team, with her talent and skills she can complete missions alone, not needing of anyone's help.

Background:
Illa hides herself in a suit of black armor specializes in stealth missions. She makes sure no one knows she's an Asari and is rarely let people know she is unless you are very close to her. Everyone knows Biotics is natural to the Asari race. Illa on the other hand have an unknown Asari disease, she is the only one and the first Asari that is not capable of using any Biotics, and is probably the reason why she has bluish-white skin. Although she cannot use Biotics to attack people and defend herself. Living and surviving alone in the dark depths of Omega is enough training for her to do so, and she’s been doing this for decades. May it be killing heartless mercenaries for food or just simply killing people that threaten her, she became an emotionless insensitive individual over the course of years. She then joins a couple of mercenary groups such as Eclipse and Blue Suns. After some time of tagging along with the group she realizes she's not much of a team player and eventually leaves them and work as a lone wolf mercenary, but she refuse to burn bridges with them as she may be needing them in the future. In 2186 CE, Aria acknowledges her efforts of helping to reclaim Omega back from Oleg Petrovsky and Cerberus. This allows her to be close with Aria, who is personally choose her to kill off her enemies and people who oppose her.
Illa doesn’t have memory of the past even before her crash landing into Omega docks. She wants to learn what happen to her as she has no known past, even her family, and her last name is unknown. As someone who doesn’t have any capability to use Biotics, she relies solely on information, articles and documents. Being a master of stealth, joining in a mercenary group and having Aria on her side is a great advantage on gathering intelligence.
1st Act:
Illa went to a planet somewhere in Pax System in Horsehead Nebula as part of her contract of gathering old Salarian documents about the Genophage Modification that dates back almost a hundred years. Aside from the Genophage Modification files that she easily acquired, Illa have a knack of looking and reading other documents. Among the others, one important document caught her attention and interest, a rather almost burn-out document with her name on it. She found out that she was brought in the place sometime in the year 2110. This is the biggest and the most important information she gets about her life, finally something about her past.
Illa encountered hostile mercenaries in the area who are salvaging useful things to be sold to the highest bidder in the galaxy. As usual, Illa doesn’t show herself and killed them one by one by either slitting their throat open or a shot in the head with their own gun; she’s too fast and sneaky for the mercenaries to catch with a bullet. Mercenaries scream for their lives as some of them shoot aimlessly in the dark. She is outnumbered but definitely not outmatched, and this is why she preferred to work during the night, as the night is her friend. She left one bloodied Batarian alive; she points her gun to his head and asks “Where are the other documents that the Salarian Scientist left here?” The bloodied mercenary says “The other documents are already gone and is taken away by our recon team; we are only here salvaging what was left.” The mercenary continue to plead for his life “Please don’t kill me, I’m Gats, and I have a family please. I will give all the information you need, just don’t.” Illa point her gun to Gats’s omni-tool and point it to her omni-tool. Gats’s have started transferring all the mission information to Illa’s omni-tool. Suddenly someone from the other side of the bleeding mercenary contact him “Bravo Team!” (Renegade; before the mercenary can answer; Illa shot him in the head mercilessly. “Bravo Team! Come in!” Illa walks away towards the docks and took off with one of their ship and says “Good Riddance”) (Paragon; “Gats here” says the merceny, Illa ignored, walks away and took off with one of their ship.)
Inside the mercenary ship, she checked the downloaded information and found out, that the mercenaries will be heading to Illium to meet a rich Asari that pays a huge amount for the documents they’ve found, the name is not given in the information, since it’s classified. She may not know if those documents include about her past or it’s all political bullshit. It simply leaves her wondering what those information’s are and that is enough to drive her crazy.
2nd Act:
In Nos Astra, Illium. Illa knows that she’s too late to get the mercenaries, but not too late to know who the client is. Alas, It’s an Asari one of her own, but not the one that will understand her. She follows the target carefully along the side of the building, looking through the window and not letting the Asari leaves her eyes. Until they reach a huge apartment room. Illa open the window quickly, acted fast and grab her by the neck, she took the document and pushes the helpless Asari on the floor but before she took off and run, she began to float. The documents fall on the floor, the Asari rush and nervously get all the documents and put it on the desk while Illa is floating in serious anger. Another Asari who is sitting in the desk while looking outside the window ask the young asari to take her leave "Freyr, Illa and myself will have a little chat." Freys runs outside the room like she was running for her life, the moment Freyr leaves the room, Illa began to show strength on getting out of the Lift that the Asari cast on her, but the more she try the more it’s beginning to hurt her, the feeling of bones crushing is intolerable even for someone who's experience as her.
The Asari calls her by her name, “Illa right?” as she grabs the information from her desk. “Who’s Illa?” she heavily decline that she is not the person the Asari is talking about. The Asari walks closely to her look her in the eye and said that “You should choose wisely on whom you should tell your lies.” To Illa’s surprise, she’s now in front of Dr. Liara T’Soni, a well-known archeologist and a hero to some. Liara continue to read the documents, she giggled and said “Funny how the Salarians put a classified information in a paper but clever, since it’s easier to burn a paper if things go wrong.”
Illa then asks Dr. T’Soni “Why are you so interested in Genophage Modification?” Liara replied and says “I have no interest of knowing anything about the Genophage, right now my concern is what I have on my hands.” Illa is really confuse because the documents inside the laboratory is all about genophage, therefore leaves her questioning why does her name written to one of the files there, is she a half krogan, she wonders. Illa then says “So are you gonna get me arrested?” Liara said to Illa “No, I wouldn’t risk getting someone with a bad profile such as yourself to run, I’m considering on throwing you out of the window instead.” Illa roll her eyes, because she knows Liara will never do that, otherwise she is already out of the window by now. Illa tried to reason to Liara, saying that she will kill her once she removes the Lift, she also mentions that Eclipse and Blue Suns and even Aria has her back, but Liara seems not hearing a thing and is just busy reading the documents. Illa feels that her presence as one of the known assassin in Omega is being ignored and shouted “Those documents are MINE!” Illa must’ve hit a nerve to Liara and she shouted “These documents are not only for you!” After that, Illa realizes how serious Liara is with those documents, perhaps it’s personal. So Illa decided kept silent and let Liara reads all the documents while she floats there patiently, she knows for sure she will not die but surely she will get arrested and that is better than dying.
A little bit later, Liara started tearing up the last part of the paper she has on her hand and throws it outside the window while Illa is shouting “STOP! What the hell are you doing? I need those papers. It contains Genophage Modification and the Krogans only wanted to burn and trash anything that has got to do with it.” Liara replied “Admirable, but the papers got nothing to do with the Genophage Modification, it only contain how big is the failure they made for one Ardat-Yakshi, Illa” she pauses “Vasir.” Liara put down Illa slowly. “What do you mean? V-Vasir” Illa is in great surprise. Liara says “The Spectre, Tela Vasir, I’m sure you have heard of her.” Liara give the documents to Illa using her biotics and while doing so she says “Project: Illa, these documents are yours now, feel free to burn it afterwards.”
So Illa grab the floating papers and read it there instantly. According to the documents, Illa Vasir is a 100 year old Ardat-Yakshi and was brought there with her mother Tela Vasir in 2110, hoping for a cure for her daughter’s disease. The Salarian Scientists use Genophage Modification as a cover up for their true purpose. As the council is not allowing any Ardat-Yakshi studies, because they believe it would be dangerous to even being near one. Below she sees the hand written of her mother’s reason why she wants her daughter to be part of the project. It says “All I ever wanted is to have my daughter free; she doesn’t deserve to be in prison for the crimes she didn’t commit.”
Liara says “Your mother is a great and strong Spectre that is before The Shadow Broker manipulates her.” Liara pauses and gets her omni-tool “Here, I’m transferring you all her important logs during those time.” Illa checks the 1st log instantly, she was a bit distrustful on how is someone she just disrespected became so kind to help her know more about her past. But for now, she realizes she needs all the help she can get to know something and to learn something.
Log 1: Vasir: I have been hunting the Shadow Broker for years now; Goddess knows how many troubles I’ve been through just to know where he is. This time, I am ready to infiltrate his Lair and arrest him or her.
Log 2: Vasir: The Shadow Broker gave me a call, he knows that I’ll be infiltrating his base soon, he knows everything. He also knows that Illa is an Ardat-Yakshi, so he made an offer; I will leave him alone and the cure for Ardat-Yakshi is ours. If the Council knows that I’ll be making a deal with the Shadow Broker, I will be known as the traitor of the galaxy instead of a hero and Illa *pauses* Illa will be in grave danger as the Asari Justicars will surely kill her. This is hard...
Log 3: Vasir: I decided to accept The Shadow Brokers offer, Illa and I will be heading to laboratory. Illa is really excited as do I. She will have a normal life and both of us can’t wait for that to happen. I love her so much, more than anything.
Log 4: Vasir: The Salarian Scientist already has all the equipment’s ready. As if they’re only waiting for someone to volunteer. The Doctors told us that in order to cure the Ardat-Yakshi, Illa should give up her Biotics, we both agreed it’s for the good. So In a few hours from now, they will start the procedure.
Log 5: Vasir: Just a few moments ago, I felt a huge amount of Biotics coming out from the laboratory. I’m worried, I should go and see what’s happening.
Video Log 1: Tela Vasir is seen going inside the operating room but one Salarian Doctor stops her and tell her something “Vasir, Ardat-Yakshi is gone”. Vasir is awed “R-really! This is great, I want to see Illa. Where is she?” Vasir is trying to look at the other side of the Salarian Doctor. “Look, Vasir.” Says the Doctor “Side-effect, unexpected, I’m sorry but she doesn’t remember anything.” The happiness in Vasir face suddenly turn into shock and said “Wh-what! What do you mean?” The doctor is saddened about the outcome and says “Memory loss, all of it. She doesn’t even remember you.” Vasir shouted in anger as tears running down her cheeks, “WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE LOSS ALL HER MEMORY, THIS IS NOT HAPPENING, WHERE IS SHE? I WANT TO SEE HER NOW!” Suddenly, Illa is seen running out of the room. Vasir hold Illa’s hand and trying to explained what just happened “Illa, wait. I’m your mother! We don’t know this will happen, but from this day on, we are FREE, you are FREE!” But Illa wouldn't listen, she move Vasir’s hand away and continue run to the docks. *Video Cut*
Liara open her omni-tool again “Also, the mercenary you left alive in the laboratory salvage something important for you.”(If you keep Gats alive in the laboratory)
Video Log 2: Before Illa can go even further, Vasir stops her by using Lift. She wants to cripple her so she could not run “Illa, listen to me!” but the moment she saw tears in her daughter’s eye, she bites her lips and says “I love you, I always will.” Vasir put her down slowly and let her go. Illa is seen running after that. *Video Cut*
