Their vision is messed up if it uses boring RNGs for their loot system though. Whether you agree or not with this, is fact.

Edit: Not that the RNGs are boring, but the fact that RNGs are there to begin with.

RNG is what allows you to exploit chests to begin with, dude. If there was no RNG there was no RNG to exploit to get the schematic you want, you'd just be getting a fixed schematic.

And besides, from what I have read, the fix only applies to Amulets of Power.

Hell no they don't giggle. They'll try to giggle to come of as cute, but it really doesn't work while their jaws are trying to mangle an ivisible piece of food.

Now if they'd just snort cocaine instead of smoke the crack, we'd have a diffierent situation.

Like you said, your blood pressure would probably be fine if you didn't come onto the BSN.

Mind you, there is still the real world to deal with...

Well... at least they try, right?

Even if they're pulling fucked up looking faces in the process.

Man I need to stop derailing threads... so what was this one about, again?

Ahh yes.

Yeah BioWare. Stop patching exploits...

I haven't played in a while but I'm hoping the bug where Sera says "Bits up, face down!" every second is still there.... otherwise I'll be heartbroken.

Wait.

Is that still on topic?

Sort of?

Is everybody just ignoring this or something?

Well, since a lot of people aren't talking about only farming schematics and mats, I would say that doesn't apply to them, so there is nothing to "forget".

I would never use the farming exploit, personally. Defeats the purpose for me, since I would want to use the dupe glitch to avoid grinding. However, I can understand why some would want to, considering "rare" means you may go through one or more playthroughs and never see certain schematics or mats the entire time.

PC players have access to the developer console, where they can give themselves as many Inquisition Perks, skill points, gold, etc. as they would like.

I will charitably assume that you are acting like an stereotypically dumb console player to start a PC vs console flamewar:

No, no we cannot. Developer consoles are not magically adde to every windows build by the compiler, they have to be intentionally put in the shipped version by the developer and there is no reason consoles couldn't have them (but I suppose the lack of a keyboard would make entering text harder). Some developers like Bethesda are more mod friendly and let you mess with game internals on the fly whilst others (like Bioware with DAI) do not.

Console users to not have this luxury

You knew that when you bought the console - you can't buy a Chinese version of a book and then come crying that you can't read it becaus it's Chinese. You bought a console specially because you enjoy having the developer dictate exactly how you have to play the game.

And you know it happens all the time. Should this not be patched as well? Console players do not have the luxury of the developer console. What harm does leaving exploits in the game have?

It's the developer's prerogative to fix exploits - this is always going to happen because the developer cannot anticipate all your attempts to break the flow of the game. There is no need to patch the developer console unless you count the ability to remove the awful cutscene stutter to be cheat, or think that a player gains a real advantage by changing resolution using console commands instead of doing so via the graphics menu.

[Commands that are run by typing text in black window are not magical cheats, but I can see why people growing up with touchscreen tile kind of operating system would get that impression. ]

On the other hand, it is your prerogative to stop playing garbage you do not enjoy. It is also your prerogative to buy games from mod-friendly developers if you are into that kind of thing.

I have to laugh. People talk about developer "vision" and player "immersion" like they're having some kind of transcendent artistic experience. I won't say it isn't art, because yeah, it's pretty, it's got dialogue which involves writing, and it takes a lot of talent to produce. I'm just saying that there's no need to be snobbish about it. It exists to be appreciated, and that doesn't mean putting it up on a pedestal or going to herculean extremes to preserve its artistic purity. To use food as an analogy, I'm a damn good cook. With a decent budget and access to prime ingredients, I can produce a meal as good as anything you'd find at a Michelin 2-star restaurant. But I don't expect my husband to applaud every time I cook dinner. It's a meal, to be eaten and enjoyed, yes, but ultimately, it's just fuel. And if my husband wants me to make meatloaf instead of scallops a la nage, I'm not going to tell him he's wrong for wanting meatloaf.

Play the game correctly and the way it was originally intended to be played.

Problem solved.

Its their vision and narrative to be played out however they see fit. Not yours.

The problem is to go through the grind over and over, kills the replay ability fast. There was an option to avoid that, now it's gone, I love the game but the grind like in any game, especially when it's done once already will keep players from playing the game more. There are many level design flaws, many game breaking bug like freezing (which just happened to me after the patch yesterday, and forced me to hard reset my PS3), so fixing this exploits instead of focusing on the real problems, is wasted energy, which in turn might even keep players from playing the game more. Don't want people using exploits, fine just give us vendors in Skyhold that sells all types of schematics, materials including fade touched ones, and the amulet of power, people would still need to grind for gold and it would be fine.

Exactly, I first played on PS4, found some really cool greatsword hilt schematics and greatsword sschematic but I wasn't a warrior, now playing on PS3 I looked up all over, about to finish the game and nothing, my sis also have found some really cool stuff that I never did, to be completely honest I don't find it fun, everyone should have access to everything in game. Crap like that killed Destiny for me

I disagree entirely, but I see where you are coming from.  By the way, I have played the game the way it was "originally intended" twice and loved it.  I don't think that having some extra skill points or a higher Inquisition rank is in any way breaking from Bioware's vision for the game.  DA:I is of course Bioware's intellectual property, and they have total control over the characters, story, lore, game world, etc.  However, I think any Bioware employee would agree that the games they make are worlds that we, the players, can then explore and experience.  Not a linear guided tour that is dictated to us.  I also disagree that players have to play the way game developers "intend" them to play.  Entire new games like Counter Strike and others have arisen specifically because players and fans of a company's work were inspired to play differently and different from the original intent.  That's an extreme case because using exploits is, by comparison, extraordinarily benign, but you get my meaning.  If I go out and buy a car, and pay it in full, I own the car.  The manufacturer can suggest that I not go to a parking lot and drive doughnuts until my tires are bald, but now that I own the car, I have every ability to do so.  Another extreme example, but again I am merely trying to illustrate a point.  I cannot change DA:I, or sell it for profit, or take credit for it, etc. because it is Bioware's IP.  But I do own the game, paid for in full, so what is the harm if I or anyone else uses a few exploits in singly player, which were already in the game?  I played through Inquisition twice "legitimately", but why take away a part of the game that lets me be slightly stronger than if played legitimately?  Especially since my single player experience doesn't affect anyone else.

Old-gen customers want their LOT of bugs be fixed. Meantime, Bioware put a lot of efforts to fix harmless exploits. The new patch bring even more bugs! So, yeah, some people want Bioware to work on another things that patching exploits...

This is a great point that I forgot to mention in my original post.  There are still some pretty major bugs, but we all know that many games have them so I'm not picking on Bioware.  However, some quests and mission-breaking and game-breaking bugs still exist, but harmless, optional game exploits were patched more quickly than more severe game-hindering bugs.  Again, I'm not blaming Bioware or accusing them of laziness, because all games have bugs nowadays.  The prioritization of harmless exploits getting fixed when I still cannot finish the "Under Her Skin" quest is a bit upsetting, though.

I am actually a PC gamer, I have most of my games on PC, but not Inquisition.  In previous Dragon Age games I have been able to use mods and console commands, but I was wrong about that in this case.  I didn't know that console commands didn't function in the same way for Inquisition, so for that inaccuracy I do apologize.  However, there is no need for you to be so antagonistic.  I love Dragon Age Inquisition, so it is not "garbage that I do not enjoy".  And despite this topic being dedicated to a gripe I have with the game, I have had a 99.9% absolutely positive experience with the game, so I am not bashing the game or Bioware.  This is the feedback forum and I am simply leaving feedback which I hope is constructive.

I'm just gonna chime in and say based on the thread in my signature that has been on the front page for months now that Bioware does NOT listen to their fans.
Sure we got a chest and a pretty cool tinting tool but we've been complaining about this for months now and they slapped us in the face with this.

I agree. Same thing goes with all other games like this, ESPECIALLY Skyrim. Man if you had to play through more times than once legitimately, then you had a hard time. Unless you were on pc of course. The problem is Microsoft or Sony. They don't allow exploitation of games, it's Microsoft's code of conduct, idk about Sony. This makes sense for multiplayer games, but single player games are just you and your game, if you feel like cheating to ruin your experience (or enhance it if it's not you're first play through) then it should be up to you.
