I agree. Same thing goes with all other games like this, ESPECIALLY Skyrim. Man if you had to play through more times than once legitimately, then you had a hard time. Unless you were on pc of course. The problem is Microsoft or Sony. They don't allow exploitation of games, it's Microsoft's code of conduct, idk about Sony. This makes sense for multiplayer games, but single player games are just you and your game, if you feel like cheating to ruin your experience (or enhance it if it's not you're first play through) then it should be up to you.

Then damn the trophies! Full speed ahead!

So what would happen if I reinstall the game with the patch? Would I be able to continue from where I left off? Is there anyway to get the previous patch only? Or am I stuck with the newest patch?

Like the exploits that still exist in Origins? Of course, different developers.... Oh wait.

Personally, I don't expect them to put the exploits back. Never asked them to, don't expect them to. I do feel the loot system is poorly implemented and I hope they fix it-- but if they aren't going to bother, then yeah, I feel they should have left it alone.

Origins' unfixed exploits are irrelevant because it doesn't change the fact that developers do not like players cheating through their game. It also doesn't matter if players ask the developers not to fix an exploit - I don't think this is a negotiable point as far as developers are concerned and you should understand that and accept it.

About the "industry-wide" bug problem, my answer is NO!

It's a new-gen wide problem. When the PS2 and the xbox ruled on market, the games were finished at release. No patch needed : the glitched games doesn't sale at all and the publisher were punished at the start.

Now, with the internet bandwidth and the fact the majority of the consoles are connect, the patch are in the program of the devs SINCE THE START of the game creation. Nowadays, the dayone patch is absolutely needed to make the game launch! For that reason, a lot of publishers don't give samples to reviewers before launch, because the know the game won't work.

Patching the game post-release is a lazy habit bringed by the occidental view of market. Just look at Nintendo product.

If you take a look in my sign, I have made a review about my DAI experience on Xbox360. It looks pretty bad and the graphics are really not the main issue. A lot of old-gen gamers have a lot of different issues about this game and we payed the same price that the others ones.

We are waiting, waiting, waiting, clinging to our games, hoping they will work... and see Bioware fixing exploits that, for a lot of us who can't play the game at all, never heard about it. With the many and many glitches making our runs desperatly bad, fixing the very very very small quantity of glitches making it better give us a bad signal. They don't care about the quality of the old-gen game. They seem like they only want to punish us more.

Well, nothing you said here contradicts anything I said. I said that games being released with a myriad of bugs is an industry-wide problem and it certainly is. The problem is also not exclusive to new-gen consoles. I remember the PS3 and Xbox360 having the same problem as the current gen (or nex-gen, if you will) consoles. So this has been around since at least the PS3 and xbox 360 days.

Again, I feel your pain and see where you're coming from in being frustrated with how BioWare seems to be fixing bugs or exploits that, to you, are trivial and unimportant compared to the myriad of other bugs that they still have not fixed. This, again, is a customer service problem, not a bug-fixing one.

So, I guess all mods and cheat engines are a big no no, too! Good luck selling that.

You misunderstand.

You weanna build a mod or use a mod that is separately developed that is fine.

Go for it.

You cannot however harp on or blame a developer for fixing their game in such a way that encourages people to play the way THEY intend.

Fixing glitches, bugs, and exploits is their job.

They are simply trying to stick to the original vision they had for the game.

It doesn't have to change the fact, but it's relevant to the statement you made, which was:

But do you honestly think that any self-respecting developer will allow an exploit to remain in their game when they can fix it? It's absurd to think otherwise.

Origins still have exploits, including one that allows you to max level within a very few minutes. Whether or not they fixed these exploits because they don't want anyone exploiting them or simply because it would render the Black Emporium useless is yet to be seen. Also, I don't "need" to understand and accept anything, especially since have never said they shouldn't have removed the exploit for any reason and I have also never asked them to put it back. I only wish for them to look into why the exploit was so popular and perhaps come up with ways to make looting better and more enjoyable.

And your opinion on cheat engines? Here is the issue I have with people stating, "Get over it and play the game the way the developer had intended!" This is a Feedback and Suggestion section. it is used (or supposed to be used) for people who have feedback and suggestions and for people to voice issues they have. If everyone just said, "Meh--just shut it and play it how they intended.", that would leave very little room for improvement.

I find the loot system something more than cosmetic. I find it poorly implemented. I find it frustrating and I find it tedious. I would rather have them fix this issue than to have to rely on an exploit. Perhaps they are, if so, no word has been issued. I hope they are, but if they aren't, then what is the harm of the exploit? I support the people having issues with the exploit removal because a lot of them are having the same frustrations with the loot system and maybe if Bioware reads their complaints, they'll begin looking on ways to make it better. White knighting for Bioware is nice and all--but it doesn't help to come into threads and belittle or minimize those issues or just telling people to get over it. I don't think their vision for the loot system is a practical or fun one. I hope they change it. I really like the crafting, but it feels constricting and under developed and limited-- most in part to schematics being on a lottery system.

That being said, if they aren't going to fix it, I would rather spam an exploit instead of grinding--which after several playthroughs becomes boring and repetitive. (See ME2 Planet scan for more detail) Gibbed is the only thing that kept me going back to that game. If the loot system isn't going to be fixed, I'll be honest, I'll most likely shelve this game, as I feel it has little to no replay value.

I am agree... see the patch 5 notes

Mouse look is still not perfect, Black Emporium is not part of the patch 5 but they fixed loot exploit as well some other exploits too so I too don't understand why are they wasting time to fix this exploits rather then fixing main issues.

Patch 5 is long awaited patch but still we are not getting perfect mouse look, Binding keys option for mouse extra buttons & some other important things.

Exploits are not a bugs & its totally optional for players to use it or not so Exploits are not that bad as even if it makes game little easy still it requires lots of time & patience so please don't waste your time on fixing them & try to fix main issues asap.. Thanks

Meanwhile others like myself see no issue in the repairing of the game and it various issues.

We will continue the game just fine.

If you don't understand why they are fixing exploits or you can't understand why that is important then I suggest you do shelve it and find something that is more your speed.

haha, wow, you didn't even have to duck for the point to fly right over your head.

How is anyone wanting a loot fix and/or exploit affecting you in any way?

Slow down, stop white knighting for a moment and realize that I don't care that they fixed the exploit, I just want them to work on the loot system-- which is why most people wanted the exploit in the first place. You take musings for demands, obviously. Since your game is so flawless and since the exploit is already fixed and no doubt isn't thought about anymore by any of the devs, it makes me curious as to why you care so much what anyone who is of an opposing opinion understands or accepts.

PC players have access to the developer console, where they can give themselves as many Inquisition Perks, skill points, gold, etc. as they would like.  This happens all the time, and is the exact same thing as exploits.

Um... no? The dev console has no cheats in this game. Maybe do your research before making comments like this...

I definitely agree that they should stop patching exploits, though. How about instead of focusing on things that players can CHOOSE to use to enhance their game, the developers could maybe fix all of the crashes, freezes, and graphical errors that are RUINING the game for countless players (myself included).

I am on PS4 and never had a single crash.

Had a single bug once that was fixed by reloading the last auto save.

Not all exploits are bugs, though most of the ones they have patched were. However, none of the exploits they "fixed" had any potential to wreck your game. If they did, someone would have reported it by now. Thousands of people have been using these exploits for several months now, after all.

I'm on PS4 and ps3, seen multiple bugs and crashes on both. The fact that you're saying you've never seen a crash makes me doubt whether you've actually played the game. But then your probably just someone so bland they do "proper care and maintance" so never have a problem with thier console and have no idea what fun is.

As for exploits, played 2 runs before I even knew they where a thing, then discovered them on my 3rd run and had much, much, much more fun. The game actually felt like a game and not a 'chore with an engaging story aspect'.
Without the exploits I actually have little desire to play the game again. MP just isn't engaging enough like ME3's was. (I still go back and play that even now)

You must be pretty lucky. I know quite a few people on the PS4 that experienced more than a few bugs, including being stuck in quests and not able to go any further, banter bugs, and so on.

Same with Xbox One users, which include myself. Thus far I have experienced:

Having to restart due to being stuck in a quest.

Having to restart because I wasn't gaining any schematics.

Dorian's quest not showing up

Solas final quest not showing up

Party members getting stuck in place or attacking air

Skipped dialog

Game freezes

Fade rifts not activating

Metals and herbs near rocks not being able to be harvested

Having a mage hat stuck on my head---when I was a rogue

Some bosses getting infinite health

And a few others. It's been good times. I never downloaded 4, I just downloaded Patch 5 today and already experienced a few bugs, but I am curious to see how many were fixed, too. I have already completed Dorian's personal quest ---due to a tip a wonderful poster shared with me on how to trigger it, so I won't know for sure if it's been fixed. Hopefully, I can trigger the Solas quest.

I know Bioware seem to be working hard to fix things, but I can certainly understand how some people, especially the few I have seen that have stated they haven't been able to complete the game due to bugs--are a bit annoyed that exploits that did no harm get priority, no matter the reason. I am sure it's frustrating for them.

I have 3 playthroughs each 60+ hours.

No crashes and no gamebreaking bugs encountered. I can't really tell if I had the Banter bug or not. I felt like I heard banter alot but who knows. Depends on the person I guess.

Had occasional frame drops but most were mild.

EDIT: Oh I forgot I had a dialogue bug when I romanced Cassandra. Had to reload and make a save point just before it and had to reload it 2 times before it worked properly.

If I had any other bugs there were so mild that I didn't even notice them.

Also not really sure why you are trying to insult me either. All I did was state my personal experience with the game.

Just read my Xbox360 review. You have the link in my sign. No specific patch for us but the few exploits working on our support are patched. It's like I'm eating at a restaurant, waiting for 3 hours a guy come to take my order but only see two people so long : the one taking away my water and the one taking away the bread.

Yeah, exploits are fun. After playing through the game once, I just wanted to run around and mess with stuff. On my second and third run, exploits helped me avoid endless grinding to get materials or levels or whatever. It was awesome. That's why I still have a backup copy of my game up to patch 2 and no higher that I can swap out with the updated one whenever I want to start a new game. This way, I can take advantage of the exploits if I wish, and then still get any new contents they roll out. It's too bad console players don't really have that option. Wish they hadn't patched those exploits out.

They may not be doing it at the pace you want or fixing the exact things you want but they are fixing the game.

Notice that I put "fixed" in quotation marks. They didn't really "fix" anything, because nothing was broken. Sure, it wasn't working as they intended, but no one was asking for it to be patched. No one wanted it to be patched. It doesn't matter if it was simpler to patch these things than the major glitches with the game, because the players (Bioware's customers and source of income) wanted the glitches fixed and not the exploits. They did the opposite.

All exploits are bugs caused by errors in the coding,How do you know? After all the coding errors that allowed them could been causing other issues.

Unless the coding errors that allowed the exploits was the cause of something else they patched.

Once again, not all exploits are bugs. I'm not talking about this game in particular, just in general. Exploits are any aspect of a game that can be exploited, whether it's a bug or just a feature of the game that is working as intended. For example, in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II on the PS2, you could import a character from a save game into your multiplayer game. So if you saved the game, dropped all your items on the ground, and imported your character from just before you dropped them, you would still have all the items in your inventory and they would be on the ground where you dropped them, duplicating all your items. This was not a bug, it was a feature working as intended. It just wasn't being used as intended. Same deal with war table mission times being affected by your system clock. It's not a bug, but it can be exploited.

As far as the coding that allowed these exploits causing the other problems, while I can't disprove it, it's highly unlikely that the coding involved in duplicating crafting materials at shops had anything to do with display driver crashes, for instance.

I understand in advance that this will probably be an unpopular post.  However, this is the feedback section and this is my (hopefully constructive) feedback after the most recent patch.

Please, please stop patching exploits, especially on consoles.

I played through the game twice legitimately, no exploits or anything. It was awesome, challenging, beautiful, and everything I hoped Dragon Age Inquisition would be. But now I would like to play as a mage who has every talent unlocked, has tons of Inquisition points, has all the exact Tier 3 armor I like...an Inquisitor who can defeat enemies in more ways than can be hotkeyed to the controller. But now that is impossible. Bioware has patched out all of the "features" that would allow players to do so.  PC players have access to the developer console, where they can give themselves as many Inquisition Perks, skill points, gold, etc. as they would like.  This happens all the time, and is the exact same thing as exploits.  Console users to not have this luxury, and leaving exploits in the game allows players who wish to use them to do so, while also allowing players to ignore them if they so choose.

Don't get me wrong, I don't condone cheating. However, this is a SINGLE PLAYER GAME.  Dragon Age Inquisition is all about the single player experience. If the players wish to play through the game legitimately, as I did and as most people do on their first/second playthroughs, that's great, and the game should be experienced that way. But if players decide they want to be a wealthy demi-god on their third playthrough, they should have that option thanks to the exploits that Bioware left in the game upon release.  Its not like I am asking for exploits to be added in.  They already existed.

First the item dupe was patched.  Next the Reputation Vendor exploit was patched, which was upsetting.  Now the last significant exploit was the respawning loot, and even then we needed to put in significant time grinding just to get Deft Hands, Fine Tools so we could even use the exploit. And now that is taken from us as well. Not just for the Amulets of Power. The loot system in this game is not friendly to players who are looking for specific armor/armor upgrades they want their Inquisitor to have, and often players do not get the armor/upgrades or schematics they are looking for because loot is completely random. The loot exploit was the only reliable way for players who had done almost everything the game has to offer to find the loot they really wanted. And now  that has been taken from us, too.

Again, I don't condone cheating or ever unfairly tipping the scales in one's favor in a multiplayer environment. All multiplayer and competitive events (whether its video games, sports, academic competition, etc) should be a fair environment to all parties involved. But this is a single player game. A lengthy, RPG single player experience in which the players should have the ability to use methods that existed in the game since launch to their benefit. Who is the player hurting by doing so?  Its no different than when PC users access the developer console to give themselves skill points, gold, Inquisition levels, etc.  And you know it happens all the time.  Should this not be patched as well?  Console players do not have the luxury of the developer console.  What harm does leaving exploits in the game have?

AMEN.............and AMEN to all those who have supported the position.
