I had some recent directX crashes in multiplayer, even with adaptive vsync. It's the first time I've had it in a week or two since using the adaptive vsync option.

I'm lead to believe this happens specifically in multiplayer when you are connected with someone who either has a low-end connection or is in a different region than yourself, or there are multiple people in the same game/lobby from different regions (and you are not the host).

Now normally something like this doesn't affect stability performance in a game or at least you wouldn't assume it would, but I'm thinking in damp it actually does. I think the desyncs, lag spikes, rubberbanding (however you want to refer it) is causing stability issues with damp itself and is causing these directX crashes. I've recently been playing with people from euro (in their host) and that's exactly when I got these new directX crashes. I think when the game is trying to catch up to itself due to the lag from desync, somehow that catch-up is causing stability problems within itself.

When this happens several times or is happening continuously for a certain amount of time then not even the adaptive vsync fix works. It solves the issue for single player, but not for damp.

I would avoid playing in damp matches that are extremely laggy. They really do seem to affect game stability.

Shelled, that's very useful information, thanks. I will forward your post to a dev asking for feedback about lag bugs.

yeah i duno what the deal is but even when I've been the host I've been getting directX crashes. It's totally bonkers because I thought I really had it fixed with adaptive vsync but apparently that fix only works for single player.

This is probably not the appropriate place but, you know, someone around may have useful information: I updated my AMD driver to 14.12 (from either 14.9 or 14.11, I can't remember) and now I can't even run the bloody game, it doesn't go pass the very first loading screen after boot.
