Morrigan is played off as being very antisocial in DAO so it always made me confused as to how she landed such a good position with an empress. She is antisocial but very good at negotiating and selling people on things. It's a strange combination of traits. But not too unbelievable I guess?

They also tell you that Celene is fascinated by dark magic and things.  Who would be better for that then Morrigan?

Morrigan had talents, Celene wanted someone to teach her about arcane arts, this gave Morrigan the opportunity to get what she wanted: knowledge through power.

i believe she explained this in-game,but i'm not sure

celene wanted hear about magic from someone who wasn't tainted by the chantry's view of magic and morrigan wants power/resources/knowledge and to safe from Templars.  Besides Tevinter cant think of a better place than arcane adviser for one of the most powerful countries on thedas

Also all her fanboys/girls wanted her to return, so she had to appear somewhere.

Also, the epilogue for Morrigan (if the Dark Ritual is denied) in DA: O said that:

True to her word, Morrigan vanished the same night she made her offer at Redcliffe Castle. Someone of Morrigan's description was later seen traveling alone, heading west through the Frostback Mountains.

Several years later, tales out of Orlais said that a strange, dark-haired mage had insinuated herself within the empress's court.

So at least it wasn't something completely random.

Fanboys having influence on gaiders story?

Shouldn't it be because Gaider decided to include her? I doubt he added her just because people wanted her in. I bet there are quite a few shale fanboyz that would be interested in shales return..
