You don't know that for a fact.

Well of course not! You are right. But I suspect it very much so ...

What makes it very easy for me to suspect it, Captain, is the fact that, Bioware did this with DA2!

Then - for years on end - they talked to us about the fact that ... we dislike this "new direction" they are going ...

The backlash DA2 got was nothing to be ignored - that was serious!

And then all of a sudden ... they release a game (DA:I) ... that is just like DA2 - in terms of "new direction" - only 20 times worse !!!

I really do not believe in any coincidents, here, Captain!

But again ...

You are right, nonetheless!

(And by the way ... I do not want to compare DA2 and DA:I, here - by no means at all!)

Yes exactly. BW are as guilty as EA. If this was murder BW would be an accomplice, and be charged with the same crimes as EA.

Cruel but precise deduction ...

God we are so mean sometimes  ... I honestly feel bad about this often times

But nevertheless ...

My experience with the patch:

Patch the game

Enter the game

Spend less than 10 minutes in Undercroft

Meh

Look for BE

Re-reads patch notes, oh right, of course it's not in this patch

Alt+F4

Doesn't work

Ctrl+Alt+Del

End process

Too late is too late.

Game breaking bugs? Maybe you had those but I didn't and neither did most gamers. Just because there are so many vocal negative Nancys here on the BSN doesn't mean that the majority of players experienced an issue.

I truly did think DA:I was a great product upon release and had they never done anything else with it I would have been satisfied. You might expect the moon from developers but I actually know what some of the work that goes into making a game is and this one is pretty dang awesome. When it comes to bugs they can't anticipate every single issue that will arise with every single system or configuration, it's just not reasonable to expect that from them. The fact is that they released a game that worked on release day and was playable. I had already beaten it by the time the first bugfix patch rolled around and I've already beaten it 3 more times since. Never once have I encountered a game breaking bug. In fact the only noteable bug I did see was the voice-switch bug and that was easily fixed by reloading the save and re-creating the cameo character.

Hm... I guess there's just no way we're going to agree on this one.  I certainly don't think that it's asking too much for a product that I purchased to work correctly without needing to wait for additional maintenance that the company who sold it to me isn't even obligated to provide.  Maintenance that I must once again mention does not come from all video game developers... and yet this practice persists... also, based on your experience, even the voice-switch bug was acceptable simply because you were able to figure out a work around?  You don't think maybe that sort of thing should have been fixed, oh, I don't know... before release?  Meh... to each their own.
