I feel this thing so strongly. Also, can I mention from an art direction stand point, what they did with Jareth's wardrobe throughout the entirety of the film was brilliant? The costume designer specifically introduced the character entirely clad in black. Each scene he is in, he sheds more and more black until at the end of the film he is dressed in pure white. The reason for this is two fold - it solidifies his connection to the owl he becomes to watch over Sarah throughout her waking hours, and it further presents this moment as the moment of truth - the wedding scene. He is completely upfront about his motives - he no longer hides behind Sarah's fears and expectations (i.e. the black he wore). But, what he asks for - her in her entirety - her heart, her free will, and her dreams (i.e. the orb), is too heavy a price. Sarah rejects the wedding scene, seeing past the purity of feeling to the obsessive control over her Jareth desires. A desire that enslaves him.
So returning to the Glitterotica - I would be so down if they had wardrobe changes to show their development or your understanding of them. I know, I know, that would take more time to model/ texture, but it would mean SO MUCH to me. I'll side with Vivienne here and say that your wardrobe is half of your power.
Yes to all of that about Jareth's wardrobe, but also: the bulge.
(Yeah I had to ruin a perfectly good analysis about the symbolic nature of a character's wardrobe and reduce it to genital parts again. Guess I really am twelve.)
Though, I think I should rewatch Labyrinth again, for the little stuff like that I probably had missed the first times, and I love discovering them!
