I think this is a good possibility. 

 

Left field: I wonder if they were ever really connected to the Fade at all. That they were deeply connected to the "Stone," which worked in concert with the Fade. But not the Fade as such. That because of this, dwarves were always the ones to shape reality, but it was their "stone sense" that got truncated.

 

They often talk about fearing the sky and are metaphorically and figuratively always looking down, trying to articulate "stone sense" but never quite reaching it.

 

Or perhaps the Fade and Stone are really so interconnected that the Stone is another way of perceiving the Fade.

I like this.  It also makes me incredibly sad.   It's like people with phantom limbs trying to "remember" that feeling of that body part.  I want more dwarves.

Why must I always be out of likes?!  Suffice it to say that I'm an enormous fan of dwarven lore.  Seeing the roots of it tie into elvhen history makes me squee like a 9-year-old Bieber fan seeing his underwear ads.  Since Shale's old thaig and the hints that the ancient elves and dwarves were...involved I've been aching to know more.  Who?  When?  How?

 

And suddenly I'm wondering if the elves know anything about golem making.

 

Edited to add that the titans predated elves, apparently.  Where did they go?  From where did the elves come?  If we believe the elvhen "made" the Qunari might we believe the titans made the elves and it backfired on them?

Yeah, there is a limit to employees which sucked but it is public so long as members approved guests. Disapprove would be rude, who does that?
