By the way, you all remember Amgarrak right ? How does that place with its machines and designs tie into all of this. I mean, Amgarrak demonstrated the existence of multiple dimensions or multiple levels of the Fade. I mean that is what those Lyrium wells did.

http://dragonage.wik.../Amgarrak_Thaig

I suspect that Ancient Dwarves not only had ties to magic and the Fade but could manipulate it far better than Elves could. We have not heard of any Elven tale of the Fade having multiple levels or multiple dimensions. The Ancient Elves could use the Fade better but the Dwarves could manipulate it better.

Well, Amgarrak had help with the magical stuff from a Tevinter magister.

I very much had Amgarrak on my mind when I posted my theory of how the Old Gods get turned into Archdemons.  I'd love to know where all those little Harvester bits went after my Warden left.  Nowhere good, I'm guessing, but we've not been allowed any quality time down in the Deep Roads to find out.  The fact that Orsino accomplishes Harvesterization with blood magic brings us full circle back to either the dwarves once having magic or the elvhen being a lot closer to them at some point.  <_<  That or Orsino is part dwarf.  :o

Edited to add that I found a man dedicated to glitterotica.  Be warned many of these are at least a little NSFW.  A clean sample, spoilered for size:

It could actually mean that the Dwarves once practiced Blood Magic and the Anvil of the Void is just a non-magical means of making a hulking powerful brute that wrecks everything. Which would then make the Dwarves as morally grey as the rest of the other Theodosian races. I highly doubt that Caridin invented the entire concept of Golem making on his own. I think that Harvesters came first and after Dwarves lost their ability to do magic, blood magic in this case, Golems came along. It would explain why a Tevinter mage needed to be Amgarrak.

Yeah the Old God turning into Archdemon thing. That would also explain why the Wardens know where the Old Gods are all along but do not want to actually go and kill them (that and the tons of Darkspawn that block the way) AND why what the Grey Wardens of Adamant were doing was a stupid idea and why Solas hates the idea.

Can you imagine what happens if Grey Wardens, powerful sentient creatures who are Tainted, go and find this magical Vessel containing an Old God's soul and try to "kill it" and well...fail ? What sort of new horror might come out of that ?!

Ugh, the Wardens.  Every time I think Leliana's getting a little stab-happy and out of her mind, I just look at the Wardens and think, "Nah, she's fine.  Could be a lot worse."

Yeah. Like guys? WTF have you idiots been doing for 1000 years???!!! According to the codex in the Western Approach, the wardens searched out the Archdemons. Did they manage to kill any without tainting them first? Have they tried to help defend Orzammar in strength, instead of one warden at a time? Have they made any kind of research into the Blight????? RAWRSNARL.

I'm going to have to put together some thoughts on Wardens and why they wouldn't spend the time between Blights helping the dwarves.  I'd post them but I don't have any right now.  Apparently I never thought about just how many Wardens there must be and why they're all stupid...except my Warden, of course.  And Alistair, most of the time.  And Nathaniel.  And Stroud, I suppose.  And maybe Bethany.

Okay, they're not all stupid.

It just seems so obvious to me.

If the Wardens aren't fighting a Blight, they should maintain relatively small garrisons in each nation's major cities, to keep an eye of things, recruit, PR, that kind of thing. More of them in the Anderfels and Tevinter where darkspawn surface raids are common.

But the bulk of the Order should be in Orzammar at all times, helping the dwarves reclaim the thaigs, and slowly work their way to booting the darkspawn out Old God prison blocks. That way they don't become disdained as an ancient and outdated order that sucks up funds. They should be researching the Blight like crazy, trying to capture the rest of the Seven like they did Cornflakes, etcetera.

Ugh! We'd make a much better Warden, logistics and goal wise, than them!

They seem to suffer from groupthink in the worst way.  All like, "We are the only ones who can defend against the Blight, therefore we know better than anyone else, and none shall be privy to our secrets!"

Oh god, I just had another horrible thought (I'm full of them tonight).  The darkspawn have kind of a hive-mind thing going, right?  What if the Joining makes the Wardens suffer from a mild version of that?  Like degrading their willpower.  They're not a hive mind, but they're more susceptible to a certain kind of group mentality.  So then when one person (in this case, Clarel) gets a horrible idea, they're more likely to all just go along except for the rare few like Alistair/Stroud/Loghain who have more willpower.

That's...horrible but not outside the realm of possibilities.  No wonder Solas hates them so much!  (Okay, not really.  I just thought I'd mention him to pretend we're on-topic for a second.)  It's actually an interesting idea.  We know they all (Wardens and Darkspawn) hear the Archdemon talking to them to one degree or another.  They all hear the song, again in varying intensities.  Perhaps there is a sort of shared consciousness.

They're certainly susceptible to Corypheus's influence while sleeping in Legacy and awake in Inquisition.

And I know I keep bringing it up, but the First Warden in Last Flight asks the refugee mages to investigate the history of the Order for Wardens behaving oddly, or counterintuitively, and seems to believe blood magic has been affecting the Order for centuries. My money is that one of the Seven Magisters is much cleverer than Corypheus and much more attuned to human nature than the Architect.

Now that's an antagonist I want to go up against at the Architect's side.

I DID think about that. It's possible that they're at least slightly susceptible to the song itself. When they go through the calling, it gets worse.

Well...****.

The Neromenians (first humans) came to Thedas from across the sea. Also the Qunari, running from the Kossith.

"Caterpillar on a leaf" sounds like the bits of the Qun we've seen. The Executors clearly consider the people of Thedas "small".

Interesting, and possibly indicative of an upcoming invasion?

They're totally the kossith and they're totally servants of Elgar'nan/enemies of Elgar'nan patiently waiting for the stars to align and Solas to screw up so that the fallen gods will come tearing out of their prisons and usher in an age of glitter and despair.

Not quite the same thing?  Jeez, I don't know, there's a lot of f***ing triangles in Thedas.

So something like an Akaviri-style invasion of Tamriel might happen in Thedas. Or something like the Aen Elle, except instead of another dimension, they are from another continent.

Probably we will learn about The Executors from the Qunari in DA4 since they alone have the potential to travel far. DA5 might see them invading.
