I get the feeling all their fighting styles would be really weird, just look at Andruil and her star powered spear of doom. But for some reason I like the idea of Ghilan'nain despite all her mad scientist ways, being hilariously incompetent on the battlefield, maybe just throwing halla at the enemy until they go away or Andruil shows up.

Ghilan'nain is the Walter White of the Pantheon. That little (apparently inaccurate) trick with the exploding...science stuff in the first season comes to mind.

And now I need to go and reread some Lovecraft.

This sentence basically sums up my existence.

I think if the elven gods do have Lovecraftian qualities, they'd be more like Nyarlathotep, or some of the more humanoid entities of the Mythos (the Tattered King, the high priest with the yellow mask, etc.)  It's hard to worship entities like Azathoth without being bats*** crazy, and I don't think deities like that would lend themselves to a long-lived, far-flung empire like Arlathan.

Hmm.  I've read Study in Emerald, and that is a good point.  Particularly if the elvhen gods' priests were akin to Prince Albert and helped "normalize" the whole idea of weird, wibbly gods.  I wonder how much direct interaction the populace had with the gods.  We know that Mythal judged people, but did she do it in person?  Through her priests?

Hmm, might they have lived like luxurious Roman senators, parading their wealth before the populace to remind everyone of their grandeur and all their myriad triumphs?

Or perhaps they were more like how the Greeks saw their gods. Not exactly present, but definitely aware of what you're doing and fully prepared to wreck your **** if you don't pay your dues.

Then again maybe they were more like the French aristocracy, immediately before the revolution. So far above the common folk they're barely even aware of them, right up until one of the poor fools somehow interrupts their endlessly opulent lifestyle, and is dealt with like an irritating fly.

These are interesting thoughts.

I think, perhaps, the gods are smart enough not to be totally aloof from common affairs. I'm thinking of Flemeth nudging history or Falon'Din's supposed obsession with amassing followers. Perhaps they took a certain pride in influencing the tide of history. Maybe they were competitive about it (which would be hilarious).

Also, I could totally see Falon'Din crashing his ritual ceremonies like a Bacchus of yore, disguised as a Stranger.

I want the Pantheon to be really into spectacle. I want their religious festivals to be decadent public spectacles, because the gods are cognizant of the power of ritual as power. Of poetry and art as propaganda for a cultural and/or religious regime.

if the sentinal armor at Mythal's temple id any indication I think she, at the very least must have enjoyed a little razzle dazzle for her ceremonies. I'm picturing golden-thighed drill teams twirling their staves as they parade through the streets of Arlathan on feast days, banners flying before them and monkeys tumbling behind.

After the portal to Disco Hell was opened, Blackwall made a gallant effort to try to fit in. Well, it was mostly Dorian blowing glitter on his beard, so he wouldn't be an embarrassment. Dorian is a helper.

If anyone wishes to see Glitterotica inspired fashion.

For anyone with pinterest. Not sure if you can see it without an account, which is dumb.

speaking of june, his mosaic is quite similar to Dwarven art: Lines and sharp angles. Compare that to the other elvhen mosaic (and art) where its more soft curves

June is totally a dwarf; I just feel it in my bones.

Although the question remains, does he have a glamour beard?

Yes.  I agree.  June is commonly depicted with an anvil/hammer.  It's often "He's depicted without the normal tools of the Dalish". The Dalish don't blacksmith.  June was 100% a dwarf.  Also glamour toad.

Yes.  BUT NOT ANYMORE. I totally think it's sandal. And it goes to our sad story about how his trying to take care of Andruil made him a bit addled.  ANDRUNE!

I don't think Sandal = June really....i mean i sort of see it as more of a Flemythal thing going on. June may be inhabiting the body of Sandal... I just can't see June saying "enchantment" for everything....possibly because I'm riding the Glamor Toad train....

Enjoy some sensual fruit eating. Here.

There is no Glamour Toad, sadly. He was too busy bedazzling a Danny Zuko leather jacket he made for the Dread Wolf. It has flame sleeves.

Perhaps I can find the time in between Chaucering . . .

Edited to add:

June also made the Dread Wolf a varsity jacket to go with his man skirt during their high school days.

Big picture is big.

I'm totally following these boards, and I wonder if I can pin stuff into them as well.

Also, I saw a Tevinter Fashion board as well. Instantly followed, of course!

i just added another batch to each. There were a lot of good pins today.

I love how we are more involved with the fashion in this game than the devs are. (as evident with the orlesian fashion outfits......and the pyjamas....)
