Sad about Gaider leaving Dragon Age, but super excited for Patrick Weekes and the new IP!

Well that's a shame. But good luck to him on this next project. At least he is not leaving Bioware.
And I'm not worried about the futur of Dragon Age. Patrick Weekes is an amazing writer !

The big question is: what about the apostrophes?
Will they thrive and flourish under Patrick Weekes's leadership? Or will Mike Laidlaw's hard scrutiny not let them pass?

Yas! Patrick Weekes is my Bioware favorite writer, and the way Dragon Age Inquisition ended I have full faith that he will be able to carry on the project in an awesome direction.

I have a feeling something happened. Seems a bit strange this just came out of the blue.
Maybe they didint want his story for the single player dlc they start working 3weeks ago?

Why you hate him so much?
I just really really don't like him for many reasons.
That's kinda rude
Perhaps, but it is a bucket next to the ocean that is Gaider's history of being such.

I wonder what happens to the DA book he was writing an outline for.

My first reaction to this news was very negative. It's never good to lose the leading vision of several projects. Look what happened with Mass Effect.
Then I read Mr. Weeks is now lead writer...so everything is just fine now. Mr. Weeks is my favorite Bioware writer so I'm very much excited and have full confidence in him. Still, congratulations for Mr. Gaider. very good job indeed.

Or maybe he doesn't like Gaiders work? You don't need to be a hater to dislike someones style or work.

Maker no!!! All of David Gaider's characters has been the ones I've enjoyed the most! This is truly a sad day for the Dragon Age IP.

Sad day to see David leaving. I completely trust Patrick here. He has proven himself over and over again to be a great writer. I thought he did a great job on ME and what he did in DAI. I think the DA series will still be in great hands. No worries on my part.

Not really the time or place, you know?
He's not dead.
Sounds like abandon ship to me.

I'm also assuming that this means that we won't be seeing any characters written by Gaider, which is a bummer because I was really hoping we'd get Maevaris in the next game!
I wouldn't worry too much that Maevaris is less likely now, given that the Cole writer transfer seems to have gone well.

What does this mean for his characters? So this means that someone else writes Morrigan, Cassandra (etc.) from now on yes?

I wonder if Dave and Mike started butting heads and Dave just threw up his hands and had enough.
