How do you complete that one weapon challange?

Every once in a while time comes to complete one weapon challenge. At first, you are using all of the good stuff and challenge goes well. But, then you realize you have to use some of 'not so good stuff' and you know it will take a while to complete it.

So, my questions are: What are the first guns that you complete? Which weapon challenge is easiest for you? What are the guns that give you most trouble, and how do you make them work?

If you are not interested in my answer, you may skip next part and proceed to replying in this topic.

For me easiest challenge is sniper rifle one. Mantis, Widow, Black Widow, Javelin, Kishook, Indra, and CSR get completed in two gold matches (or one platinum match). Then I slap Raptor on GI and break my fingers completing it, but it is fun. After that just solo U/U/Silver with Krysae (and contribute to Solo mastery).

For me, tricky one is shotgun mastery. Claymore, Graal, GPS, Crusader(Fixed Version), Piranha, Raider, and Venom are completed really fast. But, then I have to complete two more shotguns to complete. I proceed with Reegar usually, but since I play on low FPS it feels like 'special' kid playing with Lego. After that, only option is to swallow the pride and use Wraith.

Apsolute worst is pistol mastery. Lolcolyte, Talon, Arc are super easy to complete. Scorpion is completed during phantom spam on platinum.

Then FatTurian party begins:

- TSol for Eagle

- TSol for Predator

- TSent for Executioner

- Dont even bother about last one, just hope that 100 pistol medals are earned along the way

Venom is the challenge that gets completed really fast for me because it is my most used gun.

I don't really focus on challenges now  but I still end up completing all of them during my normal course of play as I rotate the weapons a lot. When I did the challenges for the first time, vindicator really annoyed me. It is a stupid gun. I just put it on all the 'weapon specialist' characters like QMS, TSol, destroyer and got it done.

Shotgun mastery is the easiest IMO because there's a lot of variety among shotguns and it's easy to pick 9 that do a more than decent job on gold (shotguns as such are much better than other weapon types). AR is also quite easy due to the variety.

As for pistol mastery, it can get annoying beyond a certain point. Arc pistol, talon, acolyte are straight forward. Eagle and executioner are rather good guns that sync will with certain characters. You can use paladin and carnifex on stasis snipers like the asari adept and volus adept. Scorpion is a good choice on characters that rely on combos (I use it on SE with disruptor ammo). Honestly, I wouldn't bother with predator or phalanx - they're not worth it IMO.

I'm confused. You change how you play for challenge points?

You don't like using certain OP weapons but find some weapons to weak and a pain? Why don't you like the wraith?

And I just shoot things.

No.

Just saying that there is a need to make certain weapons work. That is what mainly interests me. Challanges are nice subject to start a topic.

It is not that I dont like them. Problem is that I cant expirience their full potential (Reegar on 20 FPS is no match for Reegar on 60 FPS)

I used like wraith, then I joined this forum. Then I joined passionate Claymoar club (rule is that you can not like both of them).

Sabotage.  It makes some weapons less painful...

I rotate my weapon loadouts regularly and found little to no trouble finishing those challenges, so which specific challenge(s) bother(s) you, OP?

Step 1: Equip weapon.

Step 2: Start MP game with weapon.

Step 3: Shoot enemies with weapon.

It adds up eventually.

Correct, but you joined the wrong club.

Shotgun Mastery is the easiest hands-down, I complete it without noticing. On the other hand, I finally forced myself to finish off Sniper Rifle Mastery for the very first time recently (in nearly 1500 hours of gameplay).

I still have yet to complete Sniper and SMG mastery. Maybe I should get around to that... I have two SMGs and 5 SRs to go.

Throw the weapon on a TSol or GI.

If I get really desperate, I'll load up a Silver solo on Glacier and milk objective spawns

I think you are mistaken.  The rule is that you marry the Claymoar and make the Wraith your mistress.

OP stop hating on the Executioner.  Use this, my personal favorite (more of a sticky grenade damage build) or this for more weapon damage.

Or just put it on the Destroyer and have a two-shot clip for the lulz.  :)

Executioner? Take a Devastator mode build that gives you an extra shot in the mag. That is fun and boosts the progress.

SMG Mastery... blech.  I just completed it yesterday... won't be doing that again anytime soon.  Hurricane is good, of course; and CSMG is good if it's level 5+; the Tempest is... serviceable.  The others are all horrible.

I always soloed gold or silver depending on the weapon.  Usually done in about 2 games and no ones there to steal your headshot kills.  But seriously once you have all the banners done once why bother?  At this point challenge points a worthless.

Whenever I see SMG Mastery, I wonder about the amount of hours of their lives they lost.

The BPP is awesome too. Hornet is decent, if not better than the Tempest.

Not that many. You only need to finish 5 of the sub challenges to get that done.

Though if one of the challenges is the "100 SMG Medals" challenge, that can take a long time to complete.

Pistols I tend to put on the Asari adept, and headshot everything in stasis.  Everything else, I tend to save the crappy guns for going on the GI, or AIU (shotguns).

Sniper Rifle and Assault Rifle mastery seem easiest for me to complete.  I use a fairly wide variety of both, to the point I sometimes struggle to keep hold of AR Amps.

Pistol Mastery is my weakest, but I don't use the Executioner or Carnifex nearly as much as I should.

For me the shotgun mastery is the easiest and my most completed. Because shotguns are my favorite weapons, but also because this challenge doesn't make use any weapon I don't like or isn't very effective for gold or plat : Graal, Claymore, GPS, Wraith, Crusader, Reegar, Piranha, Raider and Venom are all unique and viable for the high difficulty levels.

This is also true for the AR mastery : Saber, CAR, Typhoon, PPR, Valkyrie, Spitfire, Adas, Lancer are all OK / good / great, so I just have to choose an other one to complete the challenge. I usually put the Revenant or the Phaeston on a turian, or the GPR on a geth.

Pistol mastery is OK too with  Arc, Scorpion, Talon, Paladin, Eagle, Acolyte, Executioner and Suppressor.

SR and SMG masteries are more annoying to me. Hurricane, CSMG and BPP are all very effective for gold and plat, Tempest is OK with enough boost to weapon damage. But then I still have to use an other one. Shuriken and Locust don't do enough damage, and I find the Hornet irritating. So I usually end by taking the GPSMG with the Tsent or the geth engineer.

For the SR mastery, the problem is that I have to choose between Mantis, Viper, Raptor and Incisor to complete the challenge. I usually take the Mantis.

If you are marksmad you use the Turian Ghost Iniltrator with Overload + Incendiary Ammo and then you wonder why you're getting so many points NOT on your gun. Derp.

j/k marksmad, you know, right?
