So, comparing this game to the previous ones... (I haven't finished DA:I yet, first playthrough almost 100 hours in :D )

I get the feeling that it's not possible to finish the game with all the party member having a high approval ... it's like every big desition i make will have something like 50 - 50 approval - dissapproval from them...

I just finished the quest Here Lies The Abyss and i noticed that Cassandra's card is still with the same picture from the beginning... and i've had her in my party since the start... And i barely had any "Inner Circle" missions... i talk the my team members every time i go back to skyhold but no missions...

Also i think that Cole and Solas are the ones that hate me the most xD they always dissapprove my choices...

I feel that i'm close to finish the game... am i gonna get any new inner circle missions to gain more approval?

Thanks!

It is possible. I finished my first playthrough with max (?) approval of all members. Of course you gather some disapproval, that's natural, but it can be balanced out.

Cass is rather simple to get approval with, I think.

Can you specify your question? Otherwise I'm not quite sure what to tell you. Who are you having problems with and where in the game are you now; what quests did you finish already?

It's quite easy to get high approval with everybody (easier than DAO/DA2)

Cassandra's card doesn't change until the very end.

The others all have a change in theirs card so if they are all different , you've done their main quest.

Some quests only unlock after certain event , I tend to get Blackwall and Viv quests later  for example .

I quite literally chose every main story choice that Sola's disapproves of (except maybe one) and he still respected my character and thought of him as a friend. Got everyone else's friendship capstone scenes as well, so it is certainly possible to be friends with everyone.

Her card also changes if you romance her.

Thanks guys!

I'm having the most trouble with Cole an Solas, since they dissapprove almost every choice i make ¬¬

Even on Solas' inner circle quest i didn't allow him to murder some inocent ppl and he dissapproves sigh...

What i found weird was that cole didn't give me any quests up until now, he only gave me that one to find the amulet...

And also Blackwall... i gathered every piece of Warden's history and nothing, i got something like a "thanks... " and nothing more

Amulet is Cole's only quest. Blackwall's proper quest occurs post Winter Palace. For Solas ask lots of questions and take him to activate all of those artifact things.

Well if Cole hates you then you did it right.  As for Solas, well, I've always wanted a dialog option for him that read, "You know Solas, you are mighty dang preachy for an Apostate.  Are all elves this judgmental or is that just you?"

How did you handle Solas's personal quest? Did you kill the demon, or did you take out the pillars without killing the demon. I believe doing the latter gains approval. Solas is easy to gain approval with, you just have to be inquisitive (take the investigate branch to anything he says), be open-minded about the Fade and Spirits, and he'll be quite happy with you. Solas will gain approval in the field if you activate the Elven Artifacts while he's in your party. He'll usually tell you when one is nearby too.

Cole can be a little tricky, but I always try to think along the lines he does. Will my choice mean that someone innocent, whether now or down the line, get hurt? For example, he'll disapprove of a judgement you make that means the bad guy gets to go free, even if they work for you, since in Cole's eyes that gives them the opportunity to hurt more people, even if we don't hear any mention of it. Cole would rather you kill them. But he'll always gain high approval if you take him with you for missions that help people; such as freeing the slaves in Emprise du Lion and Hissing Wastes.

Some of the Inner Circle quests will only take place at certain points in the story, regardless of how much approval you have with them. Cole will only give his after Adamant Fortress, Blackwall's is usually after Wicked Hearts, and I never get Vivienne's until near the end of the game. Cassandra needs you to talk to her about the Seekers prior to gaining enough approval with her for her quest.

Easiest way to get approval with Solas is to always pick the dialogue choices that end in a '?'. He approves of almost everything that ends in a question.

Seriously, it doesn't even matter what you say. As long as it is a question:

a. Solas, you are an ass. [ -20 approval.]

b. Solas, why are you such an ass? [+20 approval.]

You can also find elven artifacts for approval.

You're right, except Vivienne's quest always triggers after Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, and Blackwall's quest triggers once the Inquisitor completes both Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts and Into the Abyss.

Thanks guys that's very helpful!

I am going to try your suggestions :)

Also, do you guys think that i should change my party often in a single playthrough?

Because i feel really comfortable using

Me: Archer

Sera
Cass
Dorian

Mostly because i like their characters haha, but also i made cass the ultimate tank, she never losses her guard bar... Sera does a LOT of DPS and Thousand Cuts is OP... And dorian is good for debilitation and support (better than viv at least, she's more of a fighter).

Although i've considered using Bull as a tank and Solas instead of Dorian...

I will never change Sera since i love her personality and i'm romancing her so i take her with me everywhere haha

Only for the banter. Gameplay wise you can do whatever you like. In main missions you will get additional input from particular members (e.g., Solas for the Temple quest etc.) and possibly approval changes (taking Solas around the Hinterlands and helping the refugees will get you approval, for example).

As has been mentioned, Solas approves of inquisitiveness. He also values open-mindedness, contemplation, and going out of you're way to help people (not just Elves, though he does have a particular investment in the welfare of Elves and Mages). Asking questions can warrant absurd amounts of approval, provided you try to agree with him afterwards. You have more opportunities for approval gain if you invest in the arcane knowledge perk, particularly on his personal quest.

It seems to me that Cole and Solas are the ones who reward you with the most approval for being compassionate and helping people, though Blackwall and Varric do their fair share of that as well.

On my first playthrough they all loved me; even Vivienne who on all other playthroughs never cared for me much. After my first I made an effort for some to dislike me such as Solas and Dorian so I could punch them. Sometimes perks like nobility knowledge and arcane knowledge can help earn approval with companions. Ex: Using the nobility knowledge perk to suggest Vivienne be the next divine. Damn though; on later playthroughs I saw just how much of a ****** Vivienne is.

Another reason my first character was well-loved was because she, like Varric, had no strong opinions about anything. She'd only take a side when backed into a corner and forced to. Ex: Despite being from the circle when Vivienne asked her about mages she never said whether they should be free.

As for the tarot cards, most change some point after their personal quest barring Cassandra and Solas. Solas' will change after he dumps you in a romance or the end of the game, as does Cassandra's.

If you take Cole with you and do some fetch quests where you help someone you will get his approval easy peasy.

I've been lucky with that. It seems I have already maxed out Cole, Blackwall and Iron Bull's approval and I have no idea how. I think helping people with Cole there, finding the Grey Warden stuff with Blackwall present and killing Venatori with both Blackwall and Iron Bull helped! Solas and Dorian adore me and Cassandra and Varric are good friends now. I seem to have to work a bit more with Sera and Vivienne though, but they are pretty high too.

There are certain side quests that result in a big approval boost.

Even if a character hates your Inquisitor, there are ways around it.
