If I remember the Black Emporium from DA 2 there were some high level weapons available there that weren't available anywhere else so I am wondering if that will unbalance the game in DA:I? It would be a shame if it did.
Will Adding the Black Emporium Unbalance the Game?

The weapons in the original BE were so prohibitively expensive that I doubt the majority of players would be able to afford them with no duping or cheating. So no, I wouldn't worry.
Everyone needs to get over "balance" concerns in single player games though, because they don't really matter.

No, because it still costs money to buy those weapons, and they'll be level-gated anyway.

No one can answer that, either they have not seen the DAI Black Emporium or, they beta tested it and are thus under an NDA on it.

They can use their experience of the Black Emporium in DA2, can't they? That's what I did.

crafted weapons already have unbalanced the game
No, schematic farming is more of a problem, since it makes it easier to get those crafted weapons than it should be.

No, because the game already is as unbalanced as possible. KE walks over anything on any difficulty without effort.

I think RNG loot and schematics, useless boss drops, and lousy pacing are probably the biggest issues. Schematic farming made the game playable if you were prone to bad luck, and every single decent loot item is 4 levels below you because you level past content without even trying.

First of all.. My Inquisitors will be so handsome after Black Emporium, that he will kidnap all your LIs in ..single player campaign.
Then second of all.. whether or not game content is a matter of personal actions. Being completionist itself now makes you OP itself- whether or not you got new, good looking armor doesn't make much difference to that.

This. I only resorted to schematic farming on the last two characters. I literally got no schematics that were of any use before when I progressed in the game by just playing it. It does not matter what the game is (Swtor, Wow, Lotro etc.), I am the Donald Duck of the luck. Oh it rhymes. ![]()
I just had to return to them and try to farm something and spent few days trying to improve the state of their armor, and got nothing (I have no better luck with perk as most of the time the Canyon camp stocks nothing new). I feel pity looking at the rag tag- Inquisition. Yes- the armors are functional- I completed the game, but it seems silly that the DA:I which triumphs in visual currency, the Inquisitor himself has to look like a janitor of the Skyhold.
And yes level restrictions of the drop armors are rendering them useless, as crafted gear is better at the point when you get to actually wear the purple gear.
Very punishing rng in single player game makes no sense, as not many people are ready to do what I did: sacrificed a week trying to farm anything decent to my warrior, without actually playing the game (and got really feckall even doing so). Quite frankly- I am not prepared to do it again in that degree. I am happy to put a lot of effort in, but not weeks again (not after 6+ playthroughs). If you spend more time to farm than play the whole game, there comes the time when you question : why oh, why am I doing this. As a consequence I got boatloads of money but nothing to buy with it (crafted gear is better than bought one too..). I'd be happy if I could spend them in BE at least to fix this horrible experience of rng assaulting me with a rubber mallet, wearing a clown costume.
Oh and not to mention to see "joy" to see the schematic finally after you've beaten the game
Oh well. But yes.. give me stuff and I'll buy it! It is my own decision whether I use it to boost overpowerness or not. I literally don't need to be babysitter in computer gaming, if someone else fears they cannot resist the urge of ruin their own game by creating OP items.

I'll be duping and cheating to get whatever tickles my fancy in the BE, that's for sure. Thank god for cheat engine, is all.
Finally made the plunge with that this past weekend. Actually hearing banter is a game-changer.

you shouldn't need to use CE to hear party banter. This was presumably fixed in last patch. My characters chat all the time now.

Well.. My characters do not banter naturally at all without CE (days without a single banter). Haven't chatted since 3rd patch. You have been lucky in this regard. You only have to venture out to Party Banter thread in Announcements and you'll see the problem very much exists still.

I am sincerely sorry to hear this. I can imagine how frustrating that would be. Particularly with all the ground to cover in DA: I.... that's almost like a cruel joke.

"Presumably."
That was my hope, but I still went 3 hours without a single one, which eventually prompted my using it. In both my full playthroughs, the majority of one being after the first "fix," I got less than 20 through out the whole game.
Whatever they did in DAI with regards to banter firing, they need to walk it back for the next one. Put triggers around the environments like they used to. "Oh look, a bridge, time for a banter" is prefererable to "no talky ever."

Wish mine did! I still have large gaps where none of my party say anything at all, it has actually gotten worse for me since the patches. ![]()
To the OP does it really matter if the Black Emporium unbalances the game, if it's not in the multiplayer game then all it affects is how the single player plays their game and in that case you have the choice to use it or not. Personally going on my experience of using it in DA2 it was fine and didn't make my game feel unbalanced at all.

I was bitter about it to be honest, I had the bug before in different computer (my first character had less than 20 banters in 120 hours and 24 levels) and I bought new one just to see if it was hardware related. I thought it was, as I got one playthrough with functioning banter after the upgrade, but then patch 3 silenced it again (on the character, who had the functioning one too).
Now I am grateful for CE and my bitterness has evaporated. Although I do feel very bad for console users who cannot have CE as a workaround, as like yourself said, with all the ground to cover, silence is not a nice feature. Open world becomes very oppressive in silence, in particular as the music design is as it is too.
