The loot system in Inquisition sucks. If the BE's 'unbalancing' means mitigating that issue, I'm all for it.
Will Adding the Black Emporium Unbalance the Game?

Hopefully I can buy tier 3 materials in them. Finding leather is a pain.
You should kill snoufleurs in the exalted plains and Emprise du Lion.
Easy to kill , lots of tier 3 leather.

Yeah, I'm tripping over T3 materials for the most part.
Also vitaars. Super helpful when you're playing a dwarf.

I liked the banter trigger. Sometime I didn't want to play as much as experience the game, so I would go to one of these spot and go banter time for half an hour or so. Good times.Whatever they did in DAI with regards to banter firing, they need to walk it back for the next one. Put triggers around the environments like they used to. "Oh look, a bridge, time for a banter" is prefererable to "no talky ever."

However, it will let me make a few tiny adjustments to issues with my Lavellan's face that I didn't notice until I viewed her from certain angles in game that you can't see in the CC.

No one can answer that, either they have not seen the DAI Black Emporium or, they beta tested it and are thus under an NDA on it.
I think we can safely say "as currently seen, nope" without going into detail as to why. ![]()

Wait... game is not balanced. That said, it does not need to. It is a single-player game. It is a Dragon Age game. DA:O had absurdly overpowered builds. DA2 too. DAI from day 1. None of these games were about balance. So if they literally put a Gigantic Mecha in the Black Emporium that can destroy the whole solar system with one shot it wouldn't make much of a difference when you can already kill the strongest enemy in Nightmare mode in a few seconds.

Not even remotely true - e.g. Dig out your copy of Origins and have a look at DLC reward items in your inventory: you start with the best armour (blood dragon, battle dress of the provocateur and a hideous green mage robe) in the game, some of the best weapons in the game (reaper's cudgel, a 2h axe, sorrows of arlathan and a shortbow) and about a dozen really OP amulets, belts and trinkets.Everyone needs to get over "balance" concerns in single player games though, because they don't really matter.
Well done! Now I have zero reason loot anything, and I feel that the game really benefited from the removal of inventory management.
So please, don't do repeat those errors.

As it is, the game isn't balanced after Skyhold, so no.
Besides I'd imagine it's up to you, want the sword of kill everything ever? Buy it, if not, don't. Choice is yours.

yes I have 60 plus tier 3 metals and the only leaahter I have is canine and ram. I don't want to go back to other areas until my econd playthru.
Also if any game would make combat that wasn't based on some kind of system" or some under the hood balancing of srmor points damage points, attac percentages, strength points, and blah blah blah. Combat sis simple. I block attack and kick you then stab or I try to dodge attack and am too slow I die. Ive made a thread dsicusing different concepts for melee combat that's not overly realisitic and its still fun but actually feels like a real melee fight.

An option to buy some mats instead of heading into the desert to get 2 leathers would be welcome. Schematics are nice too. I think that's what we're going to get in BE, and may be some extra money-sinks (though those must have really big stats, it's hard to compete with the craft).

Well to some of us balance does matter.
I don't want things to be made overly easy but at the same time I don't want it to be impossible.

If I remember the Black Emporium from DA 2 there were some high level weapons available there that weren't available anywhere else so I am wondering if that will unbalance the game in DA:I? It would be a shame if it did.
Balance your own game: Don't buy the stuff!

Once you claim Suledin Keep you can do "Gather Leather" with Leliana on the War Table. It always rewards you with 6 Great Bear Hides.

crafted weapons already have unbalanced the game
I don't agree. Even with crafted weapons I still had a hard time killing dragons and some high level Dark Spawn.

Well if you think they do unbalance the game why just not buy them?
There's no way to know at this point if they will unbalance the game, that's why I was asking for opinions.

I don't know really. I like the idea of the Black Emporium, the mirror, some of the stuff, and the Mirror of transformation, but honestly it seems like BioWare is trying to use it...this time... to fix something that I am not even sure is broken. Namely the potential for lack of schematics. Yes, it is annoying...maybe. But really it makes sense because A. not every opponent is going to be carrying around weapon's schematics and B. it makes each play through unique, and C. thus creates that much more replayability. And...it just makes sense to me.

If you don't want the game to be unbalanced, don't visit the Black Emporium then. It's clear.

Quite frankly..having to grind for days and days of schematics does not add replay value at all after you've beaten the game few times over, but reduces it. Unless the purpose is that you are not supposed to replay the game at all.. To me the replay value is not tied into the armor I have not seen- in particular when it looks the same as the others, and therein lies the problem. If this game lacks something it is definitely variety in armor designs. Playing qunari for example can be the most frustrating experience by itself. I do not see the point in resisting extra content creation- I rather embrace it.
I personally do not understand what is the problem here. If you think the schematics break your game, do not buy them - let others do with their game what they like. It is a single player game- what I do with my screen does not transfer to your screen- I am not competing with your game in any level.

I'm hoping that the BE adds better armor and weapon schematics. If I'm gonna spend good money on a dlc featuring new equipment I want it to be better than what I'm currently wearing.

Oh no I will buy them and make use of them if they are available and if I need them and want them and think they could be worthwhile...I'm just pointing out that I believe the BE, as far as the Tier 3 schematics, might be a solution in search of a problem.
