Considering what occurred in Asunder, the templars could have just stopped the war but no, they fought and killed mages. I don't really have much sympathy for them after reading the book. As far as I'm concerned, every reasonable templar already left the Order by the time of Inquisition. Thus, I have no problem letting the Templar Order get wiped out and permanently disbanded.

Also, the corrupt Templar leadership pretty much confirmed every negative thing I ever thought about the Templars. No way I would ever help them after seeing how idiotic the leadership was. The mages were desperate. The Templars had no go reason to be morons. What logical reason could the templar leadership have for siding with demons and magisters? That says more about the Templars than I ever could say.

Desperation doesn't justify betraying and attacking an ally that gave you shelter. Fiona and the leaders of the Mage rebellion bite the hand that fed them when they seized Redcliffe and forced the Guerrins into exile. And they do this out of fear for a Templar attack that never materializes. They betrayed people who offered them shelter for no reason other than paranoia, and ironically in so doing justify the fear many of the common people have for mages. To then top it all off they ally with the Venatori of their own free will.

The Templars are just as responsible for the death and destruction of the mage rebellion as the mages, but their rejection of Chantry authority is a much less heinous act than the mage betrayal of Redcliffe. And the rank & file don't ally with the Venatori of their own free will, they are duped into drinking Red Lyrium.

In short..both sides are bad, but the mages are worse.

I got the distinct impression that Fiona and her people didn't seize Redcliffe or kick out the Arl; Alexi and his people did that. However, Fiona and her people did just sit by and let it happen, and blindly followed orders afterwards so they do bear some blame.

Why? The Inquisition has just sided with the Templars and Fiona just sold her right to self determination away. What reason would she have to object to taking part in a military operation against the Templar's allies when the other hypothetical place she should have been expecting to be shipped is the front lines of the Qunari war. So even if she had a choice, I would think she would prefer the one where she gets to scream mage liberation rather that please don't gouge me with your horns.

She made the (very stupid) decision to sell herself and the other mages into servitude to protect her people. I don't think she would want mage liberation at the cost of all the innocent lives that would be lost in the attack on Haven.

Speaking of demons, if the Venatori used the same mind control trick on the rebels as they did on the warden mages. Then where are all the demons?

Calpernia's mission outright says that there is a way to brainwash people that is different from the Grey Warden version.

It was not really a brainwash spell, it was a binding one that made the subject always speak the truth. Erasthenes said the spell was first used on him and Corypheus wanted to use a perfected version on Calpernia, she didn't even knew it existed until you showed to her, so I doubt Corypheus would use the same spell.

While recent posts have lessened my opinion of them, I don't think insulting them makes your side any better.

I'm a neutral pro-Mage right now. You really aren't making me go full pro-mage

People with attitudes like "If you don't agree with me then you are an idiot or support evil or both" never do a good job of swaying neutral people. All you do is rally your base and turn off the rest. Biggest example is extreme partisan politics (which seems to be the norm these days).

I still can't believe we were able to kill her in such an unceremonious fashion. At first I didn't think nothing of it because this was my first DA game. But after reading up on the lore, Fiona seemed like an extremely important character.

Yet her boss fight is reduced to her being a mere mage with altered abilities. I think a special character like Fiona would get an epic cutscene or a memorable rebuttal between the inquisitor and her. The sad thing is that The first couple playthroughs, I never even noticed that she was Fiona.

But maybe she deserved to go down as plainly as possible. I really hated her for the way she handled the mage rebellion.

The ending was fitting for her, she derserve no recognition.

Yeah.  It seems fitting to me.  Even if she revealed she was Alistair's mother, he has no reason to like her and even less reason to believe her.

For me, getting to finally wipe out the Templar Order was finally worth it. The fact that it's leadership was corrupt justified every negative thing I ever thought about Templars. It felt good to finally wipe out and permanently disband the Templars.

Its kinda surprising their just exiled from Ferelden.  It seems like any other group that would have done this would have been tried and probably executed.

I never notice her because I let my companions fight off the bad guys while I keep turning the darn thing, and then its over before she appears. Lol

I just noticed her in my fourth playthrough and third time I sided with the Templars. She goes down pretty easily, and she is the leader of the mage rebellion? Anders would have put up a better fight.

I find it funny that Lucius, leader of the templars, is lv 7-11. His bodyguards are tougher than him LOL. I was lv 15. Pwnage ensued.

It's always a great day when templar supporters are sad and disappointed. Hope it continues.

Tell that to DarkKnightRises and his not so subtle troll threads against me. It warms my heart that I can make someone hate me so much that they get banned for it.
